Congrats to all on your weight loss. I'm supposed to go to the clinic today but I don't think I can afford it today. I have pills left so I may push it to next week. I feel light and I've been good and it feels like I probably lost a little something. It's good not having that scale anymore because I don't stress about it.

Anyway keep of the good work everybody. If I decide to go then I will update my stats later.

Let's do this. Happy Wednesday!!!!

Just checking in. I totally understand Betty, make the most of your $$ and do what you can in the meantime as long as you stay on plan.
Anyone have menus they can share? I am so tired of egg beaters, but it's my go to meal these days Need a change.

I basically eat an omlet with 1 egg, 3 egg whites, 1 slice of turket bacon, a little salt and pepper and some onions. Other times I take 2 boiled eggs, a little light mayo and very little sandwich spread to make it a little sweet. So, nothing fancy but I can take with me to work and eat once I get there.

Great ideas, I found boiled eggs in the deli section at the grocery. I think I will start making some "egg salad" I had completely forgotten about those. Week 1 day 1 again. Catered a dinner last night and have been cooking all week for it, which of course means tasting! But I am back on it. Just had two turkey dogs for breakfast- ugh! all I had in the house that was on plan so I need to do some shopping!

Enroute out of state in the morning to see my Mom. She returned to irregular, atrial fibrillation rhythm, and her cardiologist today said that at 80 years old and unsuccessful attempts to keep her in regular rhythm that she is just going to have to live with it. Feels fatigued all the time and has to wear her oxygen 24/7. Doc says she nuclear cardiac test from 3 years ago showed she had mild ischemia (lack of blood flow from a coronary artery) and wants to do another one in next 2 wks. I wish they'd do a heartcath, but found out today this cardiologist doesn't do interventions like stents. So mom has been more tired in past 3 years, wearing oxygen, and I think she needed a heartcath back then and stents! Three of her five sisters have had bypass surgery. I feel she needs a heartcath. Please pray as I go down and talk with her and the rest of my family. It has been hard to try to do any kind of eating plan the past 6 wks. I had hoped to get started on after I come back! I do SO support all of you!! Stick with it! So happy for your losses!

Debbie, God is in control and as I know you know that prayer changes things. So, keep believing and praying and we here will do the same.

Take care of your family first but try to make healthy choices with your food.

Thank you Betty and Christy! Mom said she was tired of feeling lack of energy and loss of her freedom due to feeling so tired out with this atrial fibrillation. I talked with her about the discussion with her cardiologist's nurse, and she said she is very interested in having a heartcath, stents if needed, or coronary bypass graft surgery if that is what is necessary. Let me tell you how God is faithful...the next AM while visiting my parents church seated right next to me my Mom introduced me to the young woman sitting next to me and said, "she's an RN also." Ends up she works in the cardiovascular intensive care unit! God is so GOOD! She provided us the name of a cardiologist and cardiovascular surgeon in the area for Mom to consider contacting....such an answer to prayer because I don't know the medical population in that state! We'll see where this goes...

Did a modified day one today. It was more like a day one of week two because I ate lettuce and 1/2 of a pear. But, I did make better choices. Thank you for your support.

Deb, I am praying for you and your mom, how did the appt. go?
I am just getting back from a big wedding week. Up 5 lbs and I think I am going to have to rejoin with the doctor visits. Not something I want to do, but then I figure I am doing it for me. And only me. Had a mini high school reunion back in CA while out for the wedding and my dream of being svelte and you know, not looking dumpy didn't come true, but you know what? My friends don't care what I look like. I have to do this for my health.
that puts a different perspective on things. Oh how I miss California!
Congrats Dunks on the 8.4 loss! Wow! Awesome! Way to go!
And Jsinclr Way to go to you too! Amazing!

Hi Trish! Thank you for your prayers and kind words. My Mom saw the new cardiologist who recommended the pace the first one was going at. Mom will have a nuclear cardiac stress test tomorrow. WishI could be there. It shouldn't be a rough test. But I want to hear the results and have to depend that she and Dad remember what the doctor says. Again, thank you for praying. Yes, we do need to do this for OUR health. I have been feeling lots of stress in the past six months with all kinds of issues (my brother's health in May in FL, new FT job with crazy schedule, my Mom's health....) and just Friday I was started on BP med for me. Once I know what is happening with my Mom, I have SO got to get myslef on track to lose this extra weight before it causes ALL kinds of additonal havoc in my life! Visited the MWL clinic and I would have to repay the initial fee and $70 weekly all over again. I have already paid $$$$ there! As a lifetime member of Weight Watchers I could go back to WW and pay the $14 for weigh in there and just do my MWL program. But I need online support from my LCF MWL buds here to do even that!! What would you think of doing that with me Trish?

Hi Deb,

Glad your mom is in good hands. When I was taking my husband to his oncologist I always made sure to record the appointments on my phone(with the doctors permission) and made notes. The record feature is a free app I downloaded. Don't know if that would help them remember what the doc. says at appointments. Lots of times after listening to the recording I would think of questions I had that I hadn't thought to ask, and the doctor was really good at answering questions by email if we had them within hours usually. Easier than trying to get them by phone call.

I am also on HBP meds, they are awful Stress! Agh! I have a ton of it too. Even though my husband is cancer free, I am still in high alert mode, even though it is now 5 months after his surgery. That, and my daughter at college, and me feeling like I am out of control with my weight. I feel as though I have given up control in so many areas, which is fine, I know God is in control, but I think he wants me to take responsibility...a slight difference...

So in answer... "I have already paid $$$$ there! As a lifetime member of Weight Watchers I could go back to WW and pay the $14 for weigh in there and just do my MWL program. But I need online support from my LCF MWL buds here to do even that!! What would you think of doing that with me Trish?"

Yes!
I think that would be a great idea. I too need the accountability, but don't want to pay all that $$$!! I had thought of doing something like that as well. I really don't want to pay tons of money, and the drive for me is horrendous, 45 minutes on 495- a loop that goes around Boston. It's a nightmare ride. There is something close to me that is similar low carb with B injections, but just as expensive and they make you buy their food, which is packaged and grosses me out. With WW so close and so cheap it is really tempting. My closest WW is on Thursdays and only 10 minute drive. If you do it I will join you. I just hate the meetings! I know we can buy the supplements online, and I think the metabolic melts and supplements are key to this. it's so low calorie I really don't want to do this without them!

I can identify with a lot of people posting here about having done Medi in the past. I did it for about 4 months two years ago, but then had to quit when my husband changed jobs and we had to move twice. Of course, I didn't follow the plan and I gained it all back (plus a few pounds).

I can't afford to go back and the nearest clinic is 60 miles away. I know that I need to eat low carb and particularly avoid wheat altogether. I have Hashimoto's disease (hypothyroid) and some other genetic stuff going on. My son also has food allergies to gluten / dairy, so it's time to get my whole family on board and stop cooking two meals every night.

I don't want to eat processed foods. I want to be able to eat real, whole, natural foods. I'm okay if it takes three times as long to lose the weight if it really means changing my lifestyle permanently.

I think that I'm going to look into getting the B12 injections locally. That seemed to really help.

Hi Kelly! And Happy Halloween Everyone! Record LOW number of trick or treaters, which means tons of candy left over! UGH! It's all going to work with my husband tomorrow!

Kelly, where do you get the B12 injections? I know you can buy the metabolic melts off the Medi website, you don't have to be going to a clinic to buy them. Actually you can also get the stay slim, and fat melter thing too. Don't know if that would help you? I just got mine today so I start tomorrow!

Deb have you joined ww yet for accountability? We are all here to help as well!

Does anyone have any numbers to post? Mine will be UP after I weigh in tomorrow (sigh) but baby steps.

Good luck everyone, we can do this together!

Horray! Thank you for the support Trish and Kelly!! I had thought of going to WW meetings on Monday evening. Perhaps I can look to see if they have a meeting on Thurs evening and then we can be on the same schedule. Yes, low numbers of kiddos at our door also. Literally had the two little girls from across the street, and then 4 bunches of other doorbell ringers for a total of 9 I think! Leftover candy here too, but I don't buy much.

OK, I will start tomorrow. Just not sure that I will commit to a usual MWL week one week. Still waiting to hear tomorrow or within the next 5 days about Mom's heart test she had done Monday. She said she felt ok during the nuclear stress test, so we'll see. She is just still so inconvenienced by her atrial fibrillation and the fatigue and shortness of air associated with it.

I am really starting to realize that this diet is the best thing I could've done for myself. In only 3 weeks I am down 12.5lbs! I'm so happy with myself for sticking with this. Some days are harder than others but it's all so worth it!

I haven't looked into it in depth yet, but a local (non Medi) clinic advertised the injections here a while back. They sold them in a package - I think it was a dozen visits for shots, but you weren't forced into buying anything else.

I had a good week - down 4.2 pounds. I think the fact that knowing that I need to avoid wheat for medical reasons is really helping. I have a much more long-term thought process. I am thinking about each meal, rather than just eating "what looks good" or what is easy and available in my pantry.

I'm going to look into some Paleo recipes.

I just looked at my old Medi Weightloss progress grid (I had a copy from the website). I'm totally kicking myself for gaining back that weight. I can see the progress that I made in weight, blood pressure, waist size. Depressing that I let that go. Why must I want to eat croissants?

Ah, well. No use crying over spilled milk. Onward and downward!

Kelly - I remember you! So glad that you are checking in here too Would be welcome to having you post what you are eating here....inspiration for all of us!

dunks27 - great job! Stick with it!! And, learn from us....once you lose it you are not done.... but it would be so much easier to lose and stay lost than to redo like we are. At least we KNOW it can be lost with this WOE!!

Trish - I went to WW last Monday eve and stayed for the meeting. Then decided since wouldn't hear about Mom's heart test results til yesterday that I would try a modified WW instead. By yesterday I was down about 1 1/2 lbs on my scales. Didn't weigh this AM. Talked to my sister (who went with mom to appt) and dr still wishy-washy. I will give mom a call here shortly. This STRESS is awful! Plus, boss asked me a week ago if I'd considered a workload adjustment, moving this for THAT. Though THAT involves technology I will have to learn in order to teach my nursing students, it involves nursing content I am passionate about. Though alot of "this" is still going to be on my plate as well. So, BUSY BUSY BUSY. Just want Mom to be fixed so I can focus a little more on the other things in my life (that sounds so selfish, but this doc has been dragging things out for over 3 months!!!!!) She had a 2nd opinion about 3 wks ago. I want her to actually come up here and get fixed....but she wouldn't want to do that, travel here and not be home.

jlsinclr and secret_smile85 - I LOVE those reports!!!! Makes me want to jump on board full force again!! Sorry that I am so busy I can only check in on weekends.

cheftrish? kelly?

My Mom called yesterday that she is scheduled for a heartcath in a couple weeks, I am so glad. She sounded upbeat, hopeful, thankful and is just ready to start feeling better. Thank you for your prayers. It has been such a long process and I don't understand why her doc took so long to come to do a nuclear cardiac scan and read that she has some ischemia....he didn't want to personally do much about it (he says because of her age, 80) but agreed to share the info with her 2nd opinion doc who will do the heartcath procedure (bigger city, bigger hospital, more resources). Praying that her heart can be fixed with just stenting, but she is willing to go for coronary artery bypass if needed. I will just have to get back to work early the next week. Please continue to pray! The stress of this and being in a new teaching position at the university has been so crazy the past 3 1/2 months. Whew!

Hi Deb,

That is great news about your mom. I will continue praying. I have been sidelined with a bad bout of bronchitis, and to top it all off, my computer had a virus too. Just got it up and running after almost a week with the geek squad. Sheesh! So as soon as I finish my antibiotics (Friday) I am back at it with medi. The doctor was adamant that I get as much nutrition through fruits and vegetables until I get this under control. I had pneumonia about 2 years ago and DON'T want to go back on steroids!! How is WW going? I have been doing modified WW sort of since I have had this (going on 10 days now). Haven't gained, but haven't lost either. But getting better is my first priority. No exercise either for the time being, so I have taken up knitting to pass the time and keep my hands out of the cookie jar
