Did weigh in today at home, down 4 lbs since started on Tuesday. Looking to add another 2 to 4 lbs by weigh in next Tuesday (add to further loss ,that is!)

Hi Diva, and welcome. I must have missed your post.

Let's stick together, we will do this!

Try to have a mindset of 100% commitment as we all know, we're not perfect but deviations can bring us down slippery slopes.

It's been hard the first few days but everytime I distract myself from the discomfort or deviant thought, I get stronger and more dtermined.

If you are paying for the program, like me, then it's an added incentive to rock the program to the tee!

Hi Friends!

It's so supportive to see you all here.

Day #2

Went well.

Wasn't easy.

Still adjusting to all the pills and schedules. I may have to bag the calcium supplements, they are just too damn big to swallow w/out gagging.

I found waiting between meals the hardest, as I am used to several small meals/day. The AS is working well, I haven't been craving food, but oddly enough I have felt hunger pains which I know, anatomically, is necessary as my stomach capacity shrinks.

I exercised moderately for 20 minutes and tolerated that well, in fact my legs are a little sore this morning...

I was invited over for a spontaneous cocktail hour at friends home, and strategized by bringing some fresh cocktail shrimp and my Perrier. There was a brief "Oh you're being good" comment when I declined the wine and I responded by saying, "believe me, I've had my fair share of booze through the holidays". Nothing more said. I made it. I didn't drink, and I now know I have conquered the wine craving. I felt great.

I was hungry when I went to bed but rode it out.

Woke up very motivated this am.

My plan for meals is similar to yesterday with egg whites/veggie sausage and hamm roll ups for first 2 meals. I had some boring grilled chicken last night and think I may try a mini super lean hamburger as a treat for tonight.

I cannot wait for salad next week!

OK, hang in there week oners, we can do this!!!

You can dress up chicken. I use garlic oregano and lemon juice. Sometimes a pinch of parmesan cheese too. Soy sauce ginger and garlic work too!

Hang in there everyone! Week one is hard...and that is no lie...total fact. If you can make it through week one following the rules for food/water etc, you are on your way. It will not always be easy and there will be times when you think about cheating or quitting. But again, I say, hang in there. Your goal is a worthy one...a healthier you! Maintenance is not easy either. I can go up or down 5 pounds depending on the day/week/month...but stay pretty steady. If I feel that I am losing focus, I just go back to week one...and it works...right back in line. And wearing those size 10s makes me feel really really good!

MWL truly is the one that works!

True dat, DesertRose!

I woke up this morning, again motivated, but kind of stunned that I'm only on day #4. It really seems like I've been in this week #1, acute phase for so long. Perhaps because sometimes it's hours without eating and being preoccupied about this plan.

However, I know I will do this. No matter what.

Tomorrow I get my first week, mid week booster shot. Then it's to the finsh line for my first weigh in on Thursday.

I think the hardest part of week #1 has been the limited choices for meals to reach 500kcal. My favorite meal has been 5 egg whites and a veggie breakfast sausage it is a lot of mass to eat and really keeps me satiated for hours.

Onward....

Hi, all. Day two so far has been the roughest. Day three was easier and today, day four, was finally so much better. Not hungry today, which feels great. No headache today either. How is everyone doing?

Today is Day #5.

I have a comment, um, not so easy to discuss in a public forum.

I'm a bit backed up.

I've been taking 2 Inner Cleanse in the pm but not much is happening. I realize that not much is going in and I am familiar with all the fiber, softner, laxitive options out there- I just hate to rely on remedies to move me along.

Today I will add some OTC colace and see how that goes. This is why I can't wait for LC veggies to be added on Thurs.

Day #4 went well, much like the previous days. I worked out moderately for 30 minutes but will try to back off a bit as I need to see my first weigh in stats. I'm an anomaly in that I love my daily workout, but I have learned that I can be extremely fit, run a 10k and still be overweight because it's all about the nutrition.

Oh, and tested this am, I'm in mild ketosis...

I haven't gotten the headache yet...I wonder when that will hit???

So how do people taking the ASs sequence the AS and fat burner? I was instructed to take AS 30 min before eating and fat burner 30 minutes (or w/ meal) in order to stagger.

Off to clinic for my booster B sting this am!

Sue I too have had been backed up. You can increase to 4 innerbalance. Push water. I had to add another elopement. I take an iron supplement. Which compounds the issue. You will figure it out. I never have gotten a hesdace. I think it is different for each person. I couldn't. Sleep the first week but that is improved. I have never seen it mentioned. But my clinic was not surprised. Keep up the good work. Marie

Hi

Hi everyone. I have been reading the posts for days but decided to join today so that I could add to my support system. I recently hit my goal weight but have decided to go a little further to give myself some cushion. I did Medi back in 2008 and lost 34lbs. Fast forward to four years later and I needed to go back to lose 25lbs. While it took a long time to come back--it did come back when I got complacent and kept saying...tomorrow I will do better. Combined with injuries, illness and life stresses the weight crept back on. I rejoined in September 2012 and have lost 28lbs to date but want to go a bit longer. Just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the positive posts. For those just starting--it's WORTH every second of meal planning, water guzzling and will power. The weight will come off of your hands, wrists, feet and all the other places you'd expect. You will feel better than ever and it will become a way of life. Just keep on pushing through! For those of you in the first couple of weeks...don't forget pickles and jello! My saving grace!
Enjoy your night!

Just some advice of what works for me:

Re: backed up - I chew two fiber gummies in the late afternoon or late evening, I know they have a few carbs and are like candy gummy bears, but you know you gotta limit to two and they work. In week one you really need something like that. Or you could take metamucil. I wouldn't do anything harsh.

Re: not sleeping - I cannot take the appetite suppressant past 1pm or it keeps me awake at night! Or the fat burners (which have green tea in them). Of course, I haven't been able to drink coffee or caffiene of any kind past 2pm for years. Just some thoughts, hope this helps!

Re: headaches - If you are eating the protein, and drinking water lots, I think you have less chance of having a headache. Sometimes we tend not to drink as much water because just being on a low carb/high protein diet makes you less hungry. But you truly HAVE to make sure you get lots of fluids, water especially, or your organs (brain including) can feel dehydrated! When you are eating your regular/previous WOE your body was taking water from beans, fruits, noodles, etc. But protein is more dense/solid and has less water. (This also adds to why you have the back up problem above )

Doing my weigh in tomorrow AM!! It's so hard to stay off the scales at home, but I'm trying to limit to just twice weekly.

Stick with it! It's great to see all the posts....we have LOTS of support here!

Just a quick word for the newbies.Regarding constipation I am a huge fan of magnesium supplements, do a search and you will see the MANY MANY discussions regarding this subject. It was recommended several years ago and has worked miracles for me.

Hi Friends!

Snickers and Deb, thanks for input. I too, have had difficulty getting to sleep at night and will back up on my 3rd AS. I think that will help. I just have to tweak my bowel regime, today I'll add 2 Inner Balance in the morning, I also bought some colace.

I'm SO not a pill person but right now I'm very commited to adjusting to Medi as recommended.

PajamaMama, welcome back. I can't say it enough that it is reassuring to see veterans returning to the program that works for them when the weight has returned. I have established 125 as my goal but fully intend to go lower for a 5 pound wiggle zone.

Today is Day #6, yesterday went well.

Was not hungry. No cravings. Just want salad at this point.

I realize I have to buy some Moos or LC non dairy creamer because I was putting what I thought was a "drop" of 1/2 n 1/2 in my coffee but when I measured it today it was a tablespoon. That's an additional 40 calories I haven't counted. I'm not stressed about at all but know I can do better with some good options out there.

I am in between jobs so I have been enjoying several weeks of time off after working continuously for 27 years. I will start my new job Jan 22 and will have to plan my meals and schedule. I planned it this way so that I could adjust to Medi in my own space.

The one thing I have done this time that is completely different than when I've tried to lose weight before is that I've told nobody, except of course, Hubby. As you can tell I am a fairly open person. In the past I would at least mention my goal to close friend, family...

This time, nobody. I love the feeling of holding my personal goal privately.

OK, thanks for listening and chiming in!

Hi Ftm, i actually saw or heard about a Phillips tablet that is gentle and purports to work well overnight, so that's a good thought.

I am shopping today in anticipation of Thursday's green light into LC veggies. This is such a great idea. I can recall when I have been very successful in the past on a LC diet, Vlasic SF Bread and Butter Pickles were amazing, crunchy, and so delish.

Look at all the new people checking in! Woohoo! You have begun a program that really does work. YOU make the difference. The program provides all the information and help you will need.....the rest....the will to succeed comes from within yourself. Just remember that your weight did not arrive overnight and will not disappear overnight. It is not easy, it is a hard job that requires real commitment from you.

Going into the stores and seeing sweets? Stay away from the candy aisle. Make sure to shop with a list. Make sure you always have water with you. Water can fill you up. Stay away from the aisles that make those old cravings creep in.....until you learn how to deal with them...and actually, they will slowly fade away. Remember a craving is a want not a need.

Okay...I am off for my morning walk...a little later than usual...it was pretty chilly out there this morning....waited for the sun to come up a bit and warm up the air!

You CAN do this!

Hi, ladies. This is day six. Days four and five were great, today I am really hungry. I am eating a few more calories today, but staying low carb. I am doing this without supplements, so to anyone struggling with the side effects of those just know you can do it without them. Looking forward to all of our weigh ins tomorrow. Have a great night.
