New to Medi--hoping for success
Hi all,

I've lurked around here for a few days but decided today that I would post. I just joined Medi Friday (first appt). Started the diet Saturday. I went all day with only approved food which is huge for me, since I have a real problem sticking to strict diets.

Been overweight for 30 years (I'm 42) in varying amounts, and have tried a bunch of times to lose: WW, Nutrisystem, LA Weight Loss, phentermine, fen-phen, and various other diets with no official name. I really hope this time is my time for success. I'm so tired of being overweight.

I want to lose around 50 pounds. I have a Disney trip at the end of January and would love to be in Onederland by then (about 11 more pounds to go) or better.

Best of luck to you all and I hope to find some great friends and inspiration here!:high5:

Hey, why can't I get a signature? Do I have to reach a certain number of posts first?

Welcome Cricketleg,

I read somewhere you have to be a member for 60 days and have 60 posts. Bummer, I know.

Good luck, there's some great ideas around here.

Hi Cricket!

Good luck on your first week. You can do it, just take one day and one choice at a time.

I'm on deck, my first consultation is Thursday and I am so ready to start this journey. So, looks like we'll be traveling together. :shake:

Each day I am thinking and invisioning my goals, seeing myself as healthier and choosing a new lifestyle where indulgence and social alcohol are the rare exception to my new lifestyle.

It's more than just not wanting to be overweight, or wearing low rise jeans, it's about being healthier; mind, body and soul.

I'm really having a hard time today. I can't seem to fight the hunger. I'm not on the appetite suppressant (yet...got to get cardiologist to sign off on it). I sure could use it today. Today has been harder than day 1 or 2. But I'm down 4.8 so far, so that helps to keep me going.

Are pork rinds okay for week 1? I thought I saw it in my literature somewhere but can't find it now.
