*Now It"s November - What are your Goals*
Okay! Here we are in November. How are you planning for the upcoming holiday season? How did you do with Halloween? Are you exercising more, and eating on plan? How are you planning to stay on plan with holiday parties, and holiday goodies everywhere? Do you have mini goals set for yourself to get through the holidays? What are you doing for exercise? Outside? Inside?

There are a lot of great recipes for all kinds of different good things in our threads. Take advantage of them, and try something new.

Challenges face us all every day! You all can do this - believe in yourself and hang in there!:heart::heart:

I managed to stay away from all the candy and treats at work - woohoo! I've realized I can't give in to even one little bite or I will lose control. Does anyone else feel that way?

i certainly feel the same way! i am better off just not even to taste sweet/processed carb foods because i just want more!

I've had several people say, "Can't you just have one?". I'm like, "No, I really can't". They also talk about admiring my self control while stuffing cookies in their mouth. LOL! I'm thinking, "You have no idea how close I am to taking you down for that cookie!".

I want to try to be down at least 10 lbs this month. I am a restart just as of today so hopefully that goal is not too out of reach. I teach swim lessons 4-6 hours five days a week so thats a lot of exercise and then I also attempt the treadmill several times a week and TRX one or two times a week. Once I'm at the point where I have more wiggle room (not in week 1) I will make the mini-medi cheesecakes. They are delicious and get me through any sweet cravings I may have :)

Well, I missed exercise class on Saturday, and I've been topping out at close to 1000 calories every day this week! Add to that the fact that I've barely gotten all my water in the past few days, and I'm really worried about tomorrow's weigh-in! I've always heard it's more difficult the closer you get to your goal weight, but now I really understand. Wish me luck!

Well, I lost 2lbs of fat and gained 2.2lbs of water. So I guess I better get to drinking my water.

Now that I'm closer to my goal, things have slowed down A LOT! One week a lose .2 and the next 2.6...it's just so unpredictable at this point! But, whoever thought when I started this in May that I'd be wearing a size 6 to Thanksgiving (I started out at a 14). The program really is amazing :)

I was a little worried about the upcoming holiday, but at my appt my clinic said to load up on protein (obviously) and then pick 2 starches of choice (mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, etc) and take a heaping scoop of each. Then get a salad plate and serve yourself off of the big plate you just made at the table. They said, if I did that, they guaranteed I wouldn't even finish what I had put on the larger plate. I'm definitely trying that! I don't want the holidays to sabotage me!!

That sounds like a good suggestion for Thanksgiving! I've found I'm better off not even sampling the starchy things though. I am just learning to enjoy the other stuff (namely, vegetables). We had a potluck type thing at work this week, and I stuck with chicken and the roasted vegetables I brought (which I did eat 2 large servings of). I'm just really leery of even trying one bite of the no-no type food, because I'm afraid I won't be able to stop!

My weight loss has slowed down as well, but I know I'm consuming more calories. It's really weird how hard it's gotten, and nothing has changed except that I'm almost there! I guess I'm torn between wanting to just start maintenance now, 10 lbs from my goal weight, but at my goal pant size, and feeling like I should finish what I started. Plus, the weight I picked was what puts me in a healthy BMI range, so I hate to stop short of that. But I'm beginning to run short on cash, so I will be happy when I'm able to stop going in every week. As it is, I've been having to take every other week off. I just split my AS in half, which probably has something to do with my calories creeping up. Sigh.

I have been struggling also. I am 14 lbs from goal. I go to the clinic every other week also. I lose only 1-2 lbs per 2 weeks. I admit my diet Hasn't been strict as it should be. I also was training for a half marathon. That's over now and I am back on track!

My clinic also said to eat a few things that "made thanksgiving for you", but to eat half normal serving...but I too think I am just better off not sampling!! I am cooking today this year, so I do have control!!

Hi All,

I restarted 11/10/12 after regaining 27 pounds of the 60 that I lost. I had a successful first week and lost 9.8 pounds. I'm hoping to have a nice lost this week as well. I know its thanksgiving and all but my determination to get back into my clothes for outweighs all the bad foods i could eat.

I wish you all success this week in resisting the urge to splurge. Happy Thanksgiving and happy losing to all.

I need to lose 12.1 lbs before Christmas so I can be in ONEderland before hubby comes home (he's in Afghanistan). It's just me and our boys for Thanksgiving so I'm not going to have a problem staying on track. Mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes, I'm making a turkey Alton Brown's way (brining then cooking really high for a while then cooking lower) I usually have to have the dark meat but doing it that way really makes it juicy. That's what I did last year and everyone went after the white meat. LOL I am going to make my cranberry relish which has maple syrup but I'll just drain it a bit for my portion or take a small amount. I might try making a small bit for me a bit different and see how it turns out. Kid 2 wants a pumpkin pie so I'll be doing that as well but I'll just make it a crustless version. No stuffing as I love it and the kids aren't really that crazy about it.

Sounds like everyone is doing great! Bahet, I bet you'll be so glad to see your husband! And I bet he'll be so impressed with your progress.

As for me, well, still struggling. Since I'm having to break my A.S. in half to make them stretch out, my calories are averaging about 950-1000 a day, but I'm keeping my carbs under 40. I figured out that should still be a deficit of 3500 calories a week, which means I should still lose 1 pound a week. That's fine with me, so I'm going to try to stop beating myself up about it.

I JUST realized that as of my last weigh-in, my body fat percentage is now out of the overweight category and in the healthy one! And my BMI is 25.8, which .9 away from being in the healthy category! Very exciting!
