Any success lowering LDL cholesterol on this diet?

I've lost 97 lbs on this diet so far (which I am thrilled with!), but I'm having absolutely no luck lowering my cholesterol levels, particularly LDL. In fact, my LDL was up a good bit on the last bloodwork that was done at the clinic. Everything else is great. I've heard exercise helps and I've been walking and lifting some weights (and I was a couch potato before). I also hear that you are to eat lots of vegetables for the fiber, but I'm only allowed 2 servings of vegetables on this diet. I'd love to hear what has worked for people on this diet! Thanks!

have you had a VAP test? have you read this and done your ratios? often doctors aren't reading cholesterol numbers right for people who eat a low carb diet. (which I think yours is, right?)

Hi MathSci! It seems like my clinic is the only one, but they want me having at least 3 servings of veggies a day. They've also told me that things like spinach and lettuce are unlimited. My cholesterol was high at my initial visit, and when I had my 30lb lost blood work done, it was within 2 points of being normal. They told me that eating a lot of fish and seafood can help bring it down, but I don't eat seafood so I'm not sure what made mine come down so quickly.

Have good fats like olive oil and almonds instead of things like ranch dressing for your fat serving. Also increase your intake of fatty fish like salmon.
