Sweets and Carbs..
What do you all do to get over sugar or carb cravings? Any advice and recipes would be appreciated. Some days I struggle more than others and I'm hoping that maybe some "sweets" might help a bit.

The sugar and carb craving should slack off after a while. I can't believe I rarely crave them any more! And when I do, I think now its just in my mind rather than a physical craving. In those cases, I eat something with artificial sweetener. At first I hated it, but I adjusted to it eventually.
Have you tried Eas Advantedge Carb Control Shakes? I drink them every day and they seem like a dessert to me. I also eat sugar free jello and use Torani Sugar Free Syrup to flavor things like plain greek yogurt or cottage cheese. You'll find your own path eventually, hang in there! |
If I crave sugar, I eat sf jello or make a chocolate protein shake and add a little Walden Farms chocolate syrup. If I'm craving a carb, I eat a serving of pork rinds -- my brain thinks that's a carb; looks like a carb, crunches like a carb, tastes like a carb.....I rarely crave sugar anymore, crave the carbs once in awhile. (I don't eat pork rinds 48 hours before weigh-in, though, because of the sodium content.)

there is a great almond cookie recipe for medi, very simple ingredients.. easy to make. I also like sf jello, emerald dark chocolate or cinnamon almonds, breyers carb smart ice cream (vanilla goes nice with some diet a&w).... rarely (in desperate times) an adkins bar/treat but those tend to bug my stomach.
