Daily Fat Content?
Hi-
How many grams of fat should we be eating daily? I was told to eat "low fat or zero fat" food but I was never told just how much fat (grams) I should be staying within on a daily basis. I'm starting Medi again and I want to do it right this time. Thanks! |

I'd like to know that too. But when I asked my clinic how many grams of protein I should get a day, they said "Just eat 500-600 calories of high protein food and don't worry about the grams". I was like, but I want to know! LOL! My guess is if you stick to the prescribed diet, you will stay within your range for everything. More fat equals more calories, so if stay within 500-600 calories for your protein foods, you most likely won't be able to go over on fat.

Well I want to optimize as much as I can for the most weight loss, so I dont want to eat more than I should, I have chicken sausage that has 130 calories and 7g fat, it's really yummy but I'm afraid that that is too much fat. The things with little or no fat have no taste. I just want to enjoy what little I am eating, otherwise I'm gonna wind up eating things I shouldn't.

I asked at my clinic how many fat grams I should have a day. They told me not to worry about counting fat grams, just to stick to lean meats and low fat cheese/yogurt. I asked again if there's a certain amount of fat grams I should stay under and they said no not at this point, just stick to the "approved" foods.
