What is your TOTAL calorie count per day?

HI,
I know we are supposed to eat at least 500 protein calories and an additional 100 calories of protein if we exercise.

However I was wondering what is the total number of calories you can eat and still lose weight a decent rate?
I am curious what everyone's total calorie count it.

I have been counting mine and I range between 600-900 calories per day (at least 500 or more which are from protein).

I am wondering if my total calories should be less or more?
Thanks.

I range between 750-900, but usually closer to 800-850 (this is after the first week). If I exercise, I look up how many calories I burned (1 hour of Pilates = 250 calories) and add that (and I always take full advantage of those!).

The clinic says to just add up the protein calories, then eat your two servings of veggies (listed on the handout) your healthy fat, and don't worry about total calories. But I wanted a number so I added up everything I was supposed to eat for the day: 500-600 calories protein, 50-100 calories vegetables (2 cups raw or 1 cup cooked), & 75 calories healthy fat (2 tsp olive oil or half of avocado). That gives me a rough estimate of 625-775. I took the higher number and just aimed for that with a 100 calorie cushion. And of course I watch the carbs, aiming for 20-30, but going as high as 40 some days. Oh, and I've lost 35 lbs in 2 months! Hope this helps.

This really does help!
I cannot figure out whether I am eating too much or too little especially on the days I do exercise so knowing that ~800 calories/day has been working really well for you is VERY helpful for me to use as a guide.
I tend to think that if I eat less, I will lose weight more quickly but I have read that if one's calorie consumption is too small, it can hinder weight loss.
I am going to use 750-900 as my ballbark figure too.
Thanks!

I make sure I eat back my calories when I work out because I figure I'm already at the bare minimum of what I should be eating. So workout days are usually when I eat my piece of fruit and an extra couple of hundred calories worth of protein. I may eat as much as 1000 calories that day, but since I've burned 250, that brings me back down to 750. I wasn't sure if I explained that part very well the first time. :-)

All this is just my version of doing the diet, and I'm still somewhat of a beginner, so it never hurts to run any new ideas by the people at your center. Some things work for some people that don't for others, so it can be trial and error to find out what works for you. :-)

My goal is to eat 700 a day and then add 100 or so when I work out. The clinic told me to stick with 600-800 plus work out calories. Doing this I've been losing about 2 pounds a week.
