Traveling on business during Week 1--should I wait to start?
Hello everyone! I'm new to this board and sooooo excited to find it!
I haven't started week one yet (I'm planning to start on Monday). On Wednesday, I'll be traveling from NC to CA for a business trip and won't be back until Saturday evening. While I'm in CA, I'll be in training all day, for two days straight. Part of me thinks that I should wait, but another part of me thinks that there's no perfect time to start a new eating plan. The nurse practitioner at my Medi Weightloss didn't seem concerned about the trip. What do you guys think? What would you do if you were in my shoes? ![]() |

I would say go ahead and start. There's always going to be 'something'. I remember my first day I had planned to go to the movies that night. I didn't know how I was going to manage to smell that popcorn and not eat any! But I did it! Then the next day I hung out with my nephew who kept trying to get me to eat cheetos and candy. I made it through that one too (although I found myself wondering why I picked 'that' weekend to start). You just have to be ready to commit to it and only eat what you're supposed to. You can do it!

Thanks CrazyCatLady! I decided to go for it. Today is my first day! So far so good. They had pizza today at work and I was fine with my beef patty. Thanks so much for your encouragement.

Good for you! I've found it gets easier and easier to turn down the bad stuff. Maybe it just takes practice. :-)

I travel every week, including the first week. You can always find a grilled chicken breast or a turkey sandwich that you take the turkey off of the bread. I am down 40 lbs to and like 15% body fat in 2 months. Stick with it and don't listen to anyone that tells you it is hard. Your mind is your worst enemy or best ally.
