100+ to lose - calories question
Hi, I joined Medi on Wednesday and I have a little over 100 lbs to lose.
The Doctor calculated my BMR and told me that instead of the 500 calories that I should consume triple that amount (1500) in protein. I am finding it a little hard to meet that amount of calories with the limited protein choices. I noticed a recent thread where someone else had over 100 to lose, yet they said the target was still 500 calories. I was just wondering if what she suggested was normal or not. |

Hi winthebattle!! I started out with 113lbs to lose, and I was given 500-700 protein calories. 1500 does seem high to me, I've been reading at these boards for a while and I don't think I've ever seen anyone get that much, but I could be wrong. I'd ask them about it again at your next visit.

My clinic has always had me on 600-800 (and I didn't start out with as much to lose). I haven't seen anyone on here who has had 1500. When you go for your next visit, let them know how your week was. Between your loss, what you were actually able to eat (journal everything!), and how you felt, they may decide to adjust it.
Good luck! |
