Insurance Question

Hello everyone. I will be starting MWC on June 12 when I return from some trips (I want to be all ready to go and not traveling to start). So excited to start a very big journey - need to lose 100 pounds. My insurance covers nutritional programs when medically supervised and when you have a condition such as obesity. Has anyone had any luck with having their insurance plan cover some or all of the cost of the program? Many thanks, Jennifer

Each clinic may be different, but my clinic does not accept insurance. It's possible your insurance company might reimburse you, I guess, but they probably can't pay Medi directly on your behalf. I was able to use my flex spending account for health expenses though. That was helpful, especially with the costs at the beginning. They do give you an itemized receipt with the diagnosis and treatment so you can turn that in if needed.

Thanks! Yes I guess that was what I meant that I could get reimbursed if I submit a claim.

I have not tried to file yet but my clinic told me that most insurance plans will cover some expenses and they provided me a letter of medical necessity that most plans require.

Flex spending accounts will cover. They may use your itemized receipt or ask for a medical necessity letter but they in general cover.
