We're working slowly on packing up the house. What a walk down memory lane......I'm sorting through boxes that my now adult kids have left at our house to store for them. I'm re-packing the boxes and will take them to our kids homes so they can store their own memoribilia! I'm doing well at avoiding the scale, so I'm hoping that I when I do weigh I'll be thrilled. I'm doing some alternate day increase in calories (and GOOD carbs), while then following pretty much a week 1 medi plan on the other days. I'm also switching up my exercise. Congrats to everyone! |
Hi Mary! That's what I need to do next visit to DD in TX...take her photo albums and couple boxes of memorabilia. I have my own stuff of the girls that I want to enjoy and haven't had room to unpack since moved to this home 6 years ago (both were off to college at that time so they didn't really grow up in this home). I hope to sort through things within the next month or so and also have a garage sale! We had one before we moved here 6 years ago and have had 2 since we got here too!! I like "recycling" and changing out decor if I can =) DH always thinks it is less work if I just take stuff to Goodwill, but early in our move here it was a great way to get to meet the neighbors! Another nursing instructor today was just saying she'd like to bring stuff to my garage sale since she lives out in the country on the end of a dirt road and would get better garage sale traffic here. It's fun to hang out and visit with someone during the sale too! PLUS, the stuff does NOT come back into my house once it is in the garage, the house feels combed through, and I end up with some spending money for something at the end!! Perhaps a month from now I can get rid of the XL size I had to go back to in the past few months. I refuse to buy XL shorts!! My current reflection is again like the photo on the left. :( I would like to jog the Race for the Cure in September (again) and look (again) like the photo on the right! For GOOD!! :high5:
Anybody else have feelings one way or the other about garage sales? |
finally!
I did my weekly weigh in this morning (I actually weigh all week but just count the Friday number) and finally saw a 15 to start the number again! I am so hoping hoping I have finally busted through my set point for good.
Mary, Can't wait to hear how the calorie changes are working for you. I have been reading up on JUDD, but think it may be too extreme for me. Maybe there is a middle ground that will get the scale moving. Good luck with the packing. Think of all the muscles you are building lifting those boxes. :) Deb, Congrats on last day of school!I thik running the race again is a great goal. I'm trying to find another 5k to do to keep me motivated. I wish I could get motivated to have my own garage sale and get rid of the some the clutter around here! DW, Hope the appointment went well! We had another 2 showing of the house in the middle of this, so for each one I had to stop, and tidy things up......I must say my house is staying cleaner doing these showings.....I can't afford to let anything pile up, or go undusted. We've been having such great weather we have not had to turn the AC on since last fall, but with me sweating yesterday DH decided to turn it on (so I could work harder???) but it wouldn't turn on :dunno:. Turned out some relay switch had gone bad. The AC is 17 yrs old....but we just need it to keep working until this short sale is done. I'm SO glad he's handy, and could figure out what the problem was, and with my help on the computer ordered the part. He found it on the Ruud AC website for over $200 + shipping. I found it at a Mom and Pop parts company for $24.95 including priority shipping!:jumpjoy: This couple even emailed me pictures of the part so I could compare it to the one Bill removed. Everything matched, and it will be here Monday according to USPS tracking! We plan on taking our "stuff" (that either I didn't list, or didn't sell on Ebay) to a flea market, since we live in the country and didn't have great turn out at our last garage sale. What doesn't sell will either go to the auction to sell, or will be donated to Goodwill. |
ripped in 30
Hi all,
Has anyone tried the Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 Days DVD? I started this morning and I'm going to commit to the four weeks of workouts on the program. I've been doing her shred DVD, but I was huffing and puffing through the week 1 ripped workout. Don't even want to think about what week 4 will bring! It's a fairly new DVD, so I'm curious if anyone has tried it out and had results with it. Barb |
I had my weigh in today and was down 3.1lbs! I've lost 45.5 so far! :)

Today I had my 11th weigh in on the program and Lost 2.0 lbs
Good afternoon all too all you losers out there!!!
Today I had my 11th weigh in on the program and Lost 2.0 lbs :jumpjoy: Have lost 12.6% of my body fat Lost 9.6 lbs of fat this week but held a lot of water 5.6 lbs |
2nd full week of my restart done and I lost 4lbs for a total of 16.8. Was pretty surprised I really expected less. I am helping in the kitchen for our church's spaghetti dinner tonight and I'm in charge of garlic bread (*sigh*). Wish me luck!

Congrats Andy and Losing in Ftm!! That is so awesome and inspiring!!
I am "in" again, and thankfully saw a new digit I hadn't seen in about a couple months...the 170's...even if it was 179.2! Big time medical things have had me on "tomorrow" mode for getting back on plan because it would not be good to be in ketosis prior to surgery and I have had 2 in past 2 wks, as outpatient. So, doing WW type plan, but trying low carb self version...just so surprised it is already May and I have had to buy XL sleeveless tops because last summer I was M - L. Medication complications (tendonitis from high powered antibiotics) have been tough on me...no exercise was possible. Now ready to get at this again!! ;) |
Week 5 Weigh in and lost 6.2 this week!!!!:jumpjoy: So far after 5 weeks, down 18.8!!!!!

Howdy, all.
I'm a slow loser compared to most of you, but I'm still pretty happy with my results. :) I got married two weeks ago and then went on vacation, so the diet totally slipped away. I just got back from my weigh-in and I only gained .2 lbs since my last weigh-in two weeks ago, and according to the crazy scale I actually lost fat lbs. So I was thrilled with that. Getting completely back on track tomorrow. |

3rd week on my restart and I lost another 2.2lbs, wooh wooh. Total of 21 so far! Finding it interesting that I'm losing quicker this time and I'm hardly exercising at all because of so many events happening. Wonder how it will go once I can finally get back to my routine.

Weighed in tonight and was down another 2lbs! 47.5 so far!! Its been 15 weeks, and I'm 9lbs away from being halfway!!

weigh in tomorrow
So I go for my 2nd weigh in tomorrow, I dont feel like I lost any weight this week, and I was out of ketosis this morning. I ate some pineapple, which wasnt on my list of fruits, but it was fresh and after cutting it for my son, I couldnt resist. But Im trying not to stress it, since its still healthy. Last week before my weigh in I felt like I had lost though, and today I dont :dunno: Im finding it harder to keep my journal, any suggestions? I work at a computer most of the day, so no excuses, but keep forgetting. Also, think I need to start getting into the recipes, im starting to get bored and so is my family. Any suggestions on items to keep for a quick snack? I find myself tempted when I get home from work at 7pm, trying to cook the family dinner, to munch and I know those "one bites" start to add up
|
quick snacks for me are baby bell light cheese rounds, turkey pepperoni, almonds (the chocolate ones are my fav) sugar free jello's, plain greek yogurt flavored to my liking of the moment, also deviled eggs on hand help :)
I got tired of writing out the journal and use my fitness pal's journel to log it in, I find it interesting to see all the details, I print out a weekly report and bring to clinic. I do the same thing when I get home, I just start chugging Mio flavored water for distration... |
Also... there are some amazing recipes on here. I have made the Chili Relanos, General Tso's chicken, spicey chicken, a really intersting meatloaf... My husband and teen have enjoyed them all.
