Hi y'all. Just started medi on Tuesday. Kind of nervous though because yesterday, foolishly, I exceeded my 500 cal/day by 292 calories!! No excuses but I had a terrible day at work and I was SO famished. I broke down and ate a double cheeseburger with no bun from burger king. According to a website it was 310 cal. My test strips still say I'm in ketosis-even though since testing the color shows the second from the darkest.

Should I be really concerned about my overage on calories yesterday and worried about my strips reading so dark? Do I need to exercise more because of over eating?
I wanted to lose at least 8 lbs this first week

My clinic has always had me on 600-800 calories. I'm sure you'll be fine. Better to eat some more protein when you're really hungry than try to ignore it and eat something off-plan later. And eating more protein calories will not put you out of ketosis.

If you're getting a really dark color, you probably need to drink more water.

It should be ok, like Michelynn says, protein was the better choice in the situation. The first week is getting rid of the water weight and getting you into ketosis and it sounds like your already there! Keep up the water, it does help :)
