New(waves) and a question about light soy milk
Hi everyone! I just started today and I am super excited about the plan! I am hoping to lose 40lbs to reach my goal weight of 150. I have a question for you guys, I tried finding the answer in the welcome first week posts but couldn't... I'm an avid coffee drinker and usually used skim milk... I know that's a no no this week but was wondering about the low fat soy? Thoughts?
This forum is so helpful, thanks in advance and thanks for the inspiration!! |

Hi, welcome! I haven't looked at the soy milk personally, but my clinic told me if I'm using milk it should be unsweetened almond milk. Some things differ from clinic to clinic though, so I'd ask them to be sure. Hope that helps!

I don't know the carb count on soy milk, but I also use unsweetened almond milk or almond/coconut milk) in place of milk in a lot of different ways. Nondairy creamer (in moderation) is also a lot lower in carbs than regular milk. But if you're drinking a lot of coffee (and therefore creamer), the almond milk would probably be a better choice. 1 cup is 0-1 net carbs depending on the brand and exact type.

You're welcome!! Just make sure its unsweetened. I get the unsweetened vanilla, everyone in my household uses it now.
