Have lost 12.6% of my body fat

Lost 9.6 lbs of fat this week but held a lot of water 5.6 lbs

Hi! Hope you don't mind me butting into your thread. I just did week 2 weigh-in and I'm down 13 lbs total. Hubby is doing it with me and he's down 20 lbs. I was a bit disappointed to see that I was only down 3.6 lbs yesterday. I've been using the treadmill and doing Tae-bo totalling at about 30 min a day for 5 days of the week. Hubby did nothing and still dropped 3 times more than I did. I'm just trying to remember that 13 lbs is still great. I've never lost 13 lbs in a month before let alone 2 weeks.

As an aside, MathSci, we also go to the Midlothian clinic on Monday and Thursday afternoons/evenings (around 4pm) They are wonderful there.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Andy! It was nice and I splurged on a slice of chocolate pie. There goes my weigh-in for the week! But it's OK because you only get one birthday a year and I have not had anything chocolate or sweet since I started this program back in January.

Welcome, Bahet! I generally go to the Midlothian clinic around the same time so we've probably seen each other there at some time. They have been great there and very encouraging. And please don't get discouraged because your husband is losing weight faster. Men typically lose weight faster. Just focus on your progress!

Good luck to everyone this week! Summer is coming and we are going to look great!

Hi Guys,

I read all your posts and it seems your weight dropped sooo fast, and I'm doing everything right, drinking 2 gallons of water a day and have only lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks... what am I doing wrong???

@Cami-
i am a slow loser, too. if you are following the program, the weight loss will come. i look at the poster in the office every week of how this woman lost 20 lbs the first month. my loss was 6.5, .9,.9, 1.5 for the first month, so half what she lost. yes i was frustrated. but i hung in there and had 2 good losses week 5 and 6. i keep telling myself its better to lose it more slowly...HANG IN THERE!!

Hi, Cami! Don't get discouraged! I think the heavier you are, the weight losses each week are going to be greater at first. When I started out, I was over a 100 pounds heavier than you are. I'm sure as my weight gets down, the losses will be smaller and smaller. We just need to focus on doing the right things so we are losing and we can make changes that can keep us healthier for life.

Down 2.6 lbs and it was all fat! Yahoo!

Since they are closed for Memorial Day, I'll have to go in early on Tuesday morning. Just hope I can stay focused through the 3 day weekend. It is so much easier for me to stay on track during the week when I work than on weekends!

I was a little nervous this Memorial Day also.

I have kind of stalled a little the last two weigh ins... 1.2 pounds 2 weeks ago and 1.8 lbs this past week. Trying to stay motivated though! BUT--- it does feel great to be back in ONE-DERLAND!

Great job, Andy!

I weighed in early this morning and had a 3 lb loss. However, I know that number isn't quite accurate because I did not eat or drink anything before weighing in since it was so early. I usually do my weigh-ins in the afternoon. So this number is really too high, but I'll take it! I just hope that when I weigh in next Monday afternoon, it doesn't say I've gained weight for the week!

Discouraged

Hey everyone! I am new to medi (on week 2.) I have really enjoyed reading all your posts. My first week I lost 13.2 lbs. 12.6 of it was water! What am I doing wrong? She told me to not do any more yogurt. So, I cut that out completely. I got on the scale today and was up 2 lbs from my weigh in on Friday...that's disappointing. I follow the program to a t. Any words of wisdom are welcomed and appreciated! I want a high fat loss. I've been at ketosis since day 4 of the program....

Great job, Schleprock!

Meggers, don't get too hung up on what the scale says is fat loss and water loss. You are going down in pounds and that's what you want! That Tanita Scale was driving me crazy when I'd see the fat loss and water loss numbers and I'm not sure how accurate it is. I think it is really sensitive to how hydrated you are and that can through off the numbers. I've also heard that exercising before getting weighed can throw off those numbers. Just stick to the program and the weight will come off.

Also, your scale at home might not be measuring the same as the one at the clinic. I always weigh more at home than at the clinic. Plus, the clinic's scale automatically deducts 2 pounds (they are subtracting that to take into account your clothing).

Thanks MathSci! My counselor seemed discouraged that I had lost so little fat! So hard to see the rainbow when looking through the trees! I know not to expect a huge loss this next week but, I hope to see more fat loss than .6....

Back to my usual Monday afternoon weigh-ins this week! I don't like having a holiday fall on my weigh-in day! Lost 1.2 lbs... I had prepared myself to be happy with any loss this week since I felt that last week's loss number was not accurate since I was weighing in early in the morning. So I'm happy with the 1.2 lbs! Now I need to get down to business this week so I can break into the 260's next week!
