lost my ketosis, not sure why...
Last weekend I went out of town and did some dining out but was very faithful to the plan. Monday morning I was still in ketosis, however Tuesday I was no longer in Ketosis, as of this morning I am still not showing in ketosis. I was wondering if anyone has run into times it just "turned off". My only changes are that it was TOM last week, and Monday and Tuesday night I took some otc sleeping aids. I also have done a bit more physically, but not an huge increase in activity. Any insight would be great.

My np says that u may excrete ketones with exercise. Not sure about OTC cold remedies. It's possible. As long as your at least trace I think your good. I tend to lay off veggies for a say or two when that happens. Gets me back into the pink ya know?

Are you checking with the strips? Sometimes, you drink so much water that they are too diluted to show up. Also, after a few weeks, your body gets more efficient at using them for fuel, so they won't show up in your pee anymore.

Yep one hallmark of full keto-adaptation is efficient conversion of one of the ketones (acetoacetate) which are detected by ketostix or by its byproduct Acetone which you smell on your breath, into beta-hydroxybutyrate which I don't think you can detect. But I think it's better for your brain? Need to read up on that some more.

Thanks for the info, makes me feel better to know that there are some reasonable explanations for it. I am close to the weight that I have stalled on so many other plans and I just didn't want to lose momentum. I did call my clinic and they mentioned exercise, also they told me they would be able to see my fat % so it wouldnt matter and just keep with it.

I just read some info on Keto adaptation and it seems that they mention 2-3 months as adjustment phase. A few even mentioned about week 6 (which is right where I am) sooo.. hopefully I am on the right track!
