Hey all. So I've become a gym rat again. Loving it. But in reading past posts here I see that people mention weighing MORE after work out. I have noticed that myself. I know I shouldn't weigh my self multiple times a week but it's so tempting!! After a great work out I'm feeling so confident and can't help but step on the scale.... And it's always MORE!! I read that muscles retain water. Water retention is THE LAST THING THIS GIRL NEEDS. So I'm thinking maybe hitting the gym AFTER weigh in visit? What do you all think?

Going to a neighborhood party tonight.... Ugh!!! Drinks galore to be flowing. I will have one or two while pounding water Lol. Double dusting like back in college!!!

When I was going every week I had a ritual I would always do. I was off work on Monday and my workout days were always during the week (sometimes Sat. but never Sunday). On Monday I would be the first appt of the day, wear the same clothes (workout gear because I went directly to one of my classes), not eat or even drink before weigh-in and my losses were always at their lowest. Now the bad news is I always went up and pound or two if I checked my weight during the week. But by the next weigh in I would be back to the same with any loss showing. It was the only way I felt I was getting a accurate measurement.

I try to weigh about the same time for every appointment. I work out before because, well, it just works out that way (and it is a weight class). I eat something small before and after workout. I do this every week, so if there is a loss to be had, it will show. Water retention or not, if I'm 2 lbs lighter after a week of dieting, then the 2 lbs will show up.

My cycle kills me in retention. Week of ovulation I'm up to like 85.5 lbs water. Next week I'm clear. Back to 82 lbs. Week after that TOM shows up. Back to 85lbs. It's frustrating. Prolly would not be so if I was at goal or near ya know? Right now every since ounce on drives mad!!

It'll come off! I know it's hard, but be patient! Also, you might want to try adding more salt to your diet, as well as a potassium and magnesium supplement. Anytime you drink water, throw a few wedges of lemon in them, especially first thing in the morning.
