6th week down 21 pounds and feeling disapointe with my progress
I am in my 6th week and down 21 pounds. I know 21 pounds sounds pretty good especially since I started in the holidays but I havent really seen a big difference in my clothes yet. Can anyone tell me how long it took them to really feel it? Also I want to know what you can suggest for drinking enough water. I never drink anything which is really bad and I can hardly drink 2 bottles of water a day. Can anyone explain why this is such a big deal?
Thanks for your help!:confused: |
The water issue probably explains the lack of change in the fit of your clothes. As strange as it sounds you are probably retaining water by not drinking as much as you should. I understand how hard it is drink that much, when I first started I hated the water more than I did the food restrictions. My answer is walmart's Clear American flavored waters. 0 calories and carbs totally Medi approved and come in lots of flavors. I was a huge Diet Coke drinker and this replaced my urge for soda completely. You have to try the different flavors though, I only like Lemon, Fugi Apple and Wild Cherry don't care for the others at all. Publix also has a brand, can't remember the name off hand but they have them on special this week 10 for $10.
Good luck! |
@Amanda -
That's close to 4 pounds per week. That's really good. I totally understand the desire to see bigger losses (I'm in week 2 and lost 6 pounds the first week which I was also disappointed with). But think about 21 pounds - that's a lot of weight! Does your clinic have that big fake piece of fat that shows you how big 20 pounds of fat is? It's really amazing! I also have a problem with drinking so much water. I guess because of the diet they want to be sure that we are properly hydrated. I try to drink a hot drink for a couple of my servings of water (tea, broth etc). That helps. But realistically, I'm only drinking about 64 ounces of water which my clinic tells me is not enough. I'm trying! Anyway, I think that you are doing a great job with 21 pounds. Keep up the good work. Jenny |

That's still great progress !
Something to ask yourself is "Do you feel good on this program and have enough energy?"......for me that's very important. I see you're on the Gulf Coast. If that means Texas, go to an HEB grocery store and try the HEB brand flavored waters in one liter bottles. (I don't know how widespread HEB is) They're sweetened with Splenda and the peach (awesome) is all natural flavor - zero calories, zero carbs. I don't drink or eat anything with aspartame. I think it's poison. I can't use any of the sugar-free jellos cause they all have aspartame. But our HEB carries the Hansen brand of sugar free soft drinks that are all sweetened with Splenda. Kiwi-Strawberry gives me the sweet taste I want occasionally and reminds me of one of the jello flavors. |
hey all:)
Today is my 4th day week 2...seems like all of u, I was disappointed in my first weeks results of only 7 lbs. Now that I think about it I don't recall where I lost it (fat/water) . I'm nervous for week 2 weigh in. Its been nice adding fruits and veggies, but I've been "hungry" the last couple days, i haven't had this problem until now. I also am having trouble with water. I drink around 100oz a day but tthey said my ketosis level isn't ideal and shows that I am dehydrated:( I've consistently tested at the smaller of the large levels
:( I can't seem to get out of that... |
When i lost 35lbs, I could see very little progress--so disappointing. But somewhere about 42lbs, I couldn't wear anything, I had to buy new clothes. My friend just completed 2 weeks on the plan and lost 16 pounds. She had to buy new jeans. We are all so individual. I'm starting over so I hope to join you
