First Week.... New to Medi Weight Loss
I have been trying to lose the same 50 pounds for the last 10 years and every diet seems to give the same result. I would lose 5 or 10 pounds put it would come right back.... only because I didn't keep my changed eating habits. I have a friend that did this program and she looks awesome so I decided maybe it will work for me. Today is my first day to start, I have to say it is lunch time and I am not having a feel of needing to eat, is that normal the first day. I was kind of scared when she said 500-600 calories only this week and eating protein only. I thought oh my goodness how will I make it. I had the egg whites and turkey sausage this morning for breakfast and I am amazed as to how that has stuck with me all morning. I am not sure how this thread stuff works so hopefully I am doing this post correctly.
I love reading everyones post because it gives me inter strength to say to myself I CAN DO THIS! ![]() Last edited by Ready4TheNewMe; 01-11-2012 at 10:29 AM.. |

Congrats for taking the step! I am on day 6 of Week 1 and I have to say that I am really not that hungry. On the hunger scale, I don't think I ever got above a 6. Are you taking the AS? I am and I think that is helping. I hope you have a good week. Just think of the the weight loss you'll see in a 6 short day! Good luck. Jenny |

I am at the end of day 2 (week 1) and I am really not having any issues with being hungry or with the AS. My hubs and son had me stop and get the burgers and fries and I never had a 2nd thought about it. I must say that is a nice feeling to know your not controlled by food around you, may you all be blessed with that feeling!

I lost 6 pounds in 6 days at my first weigh-in. I was a little disappointed at first and then when I thought about it a little more, I guess it's pretty good. I am on the AS and I truthfully don't feel any side effects from it...it just works. When is your first follow-up visit? Jenny |

Hi Jenny
My follow up visit is next Tuesday.... I think I weigh in that day as well. I too have not had any side effects on the AS, but is just the start of my second day. I am super excited about this and hope that the plan will be successful for me. I guess I have to remember I AM the one that will make it successful. |

I've lost 29 lbs. as of yesterday.....Started November 4th '11.
Had December and all that goes with it not been my 2nd month, I'd have done a little better but I was happy I didn't gain and my losses just slowed way down. You can add your weight stats to your profile (start/current/goal) and then change your current weight each week. They'll show up with each post. |

College Station thread anyone?!
I'm really nervous to call Darla tomorrow and confess about how I got off track for the last two weeks, but am starting over tomorrow (Monday). Anyone have any advice?? I'm so nervous and that might prevent me from calling up there. |

@Craze4life08 -
I'm sure you are not the first or the last person at your clinic to call and confess that you fell off the wagon. It happens to all of us. The most important thing is that you are calling to ask for help to get you back on track. You can do it! Just focus on each day as it comes. Don't think about next week, next month. Let us know how it goes. Jenny |

craze4life08 - Sorry I didn't see this sooner !
I hope you went ahead and went in. The important thing is that you get back on the program. I haven't had a gain happen so far, but they don't seem like the judgemental types. I would hope they're more professional than that. Remember: Just because you fell off the wagon, doesn't mean it has to run over you. Something funny from one of Valerie Bertinelli's books is what a trainer told her about going off diet : If your car has a flat tire, you fix it and go on.....you don't get out and think "Well, one tire's flat, I may as well shoot the other 3."..... I'm not remembering that very well. I'll go find it and come back later with the direct quote....but you get the drift. (Just forgive yourself and continue on.) I was shocked that I lost a lb. a week for 2 or 3 weeks in December. I was all over the place with meal times and getting all the water and a few extra things like making 8 rumcakes one day. Then there were 3 days that I had 2 to 4 glasses of champagne. I don't expect any more disruptions till Valentine's Day. |

I wouldn't object to a College Station or Brazos County TX thread.

I sometimes have a thread killing effect for some odd reason.
Maybe someone else can start it. I lost a pound and a half last week. I've got to start doing something for exercise daily to get the full benefit of MWL's program. Have had some real life drama (not good drama) going on and it's been distracting, but I don't want it to derail my success. I finally find a diet that's easy to live with and I feel good on.....and this extra sh*t gets dropped in my lap. Not health related, thank God....but it's big. |

I am not sure how to start a thread.... Congrats on your loss............ By the looks of your numbers on your Stats... you can do this. Be like the little train that said... I think I can. |

Hi all,
This is a great forum and I'm loving the excitement in most the posts. I'm on day 3 of medi and feeling great, did not cheat at all and I hope I can say the same after this weekend, I usually go out for drinks on Fridays after a long week stressful week at work. I wanna ask if any of u have any suggestions about alcohol is it allowed on the 1st week. If so what should I drink. Thanks |

Ready4TheNewMe...By now you know you successfully started the thread for College Station.
TY My weight loss experience has shown me that the first month is the biggest weight loss month. You don't get a second chance at it. The first week is very important, also. Alcohol is a depressant and will only slow down your metabolism which is not what you want. |
