I would love to see 149 next week, I haven't ever weighed below 150 even when I got married.

Staff was really sweet and said at least it wasn't a gain and I did lose fat, gain muscle, always a plus.
I'm sorry it wasn't the number you wanted to see, I sure know how that feels. You have a great attitude and you're going to get there. Just keep pushing and don't give up!

Whoo Hoo! This AM down to 160; so down from 167.5 since 9/26.....of course, I should have never regained that to begin with, but I'm dedicated to getting back to 140's, if not back to goal of 137 like I was a year ago this time!!! As I had regained post goal, it was slowly, and I thought I could "get to it" "next week, or the next week, or the next week...." and by Feb 2011 was in the upper 140's, then just prior to DD's wedding was almost mid 150's. Went to wedding "week" with bed and breakfast, eating out, came back and started hectic schedule minus exercise....BOOM up to high 160's. SO, take this as a warning, my friends, it is a lot of work to get it off, but the rewards of getting it off and KEEPING it off are so worth it....because regaining is the pitts.

The answer? Stick with it the first time friends!!

Deb!!
I'm getting back down as well...I know I haven't posted in ages BUT I have been lurking I was all the way up 172 (UGH) but have worked my way back down to 164 and I've still got a bit to go.I got me a case of the lazies combined with some illness during the summer.I had benign positional vertigo (NOT fun) and then had a cold.Sometimes life just isn't fair
I've gotten over both and learned that alcohol is really not a good thing to consume when your body loves carbs-just makes ya want more
It was really good to see Susie and Jo still here as well.BUT I've noticed that there's not nearly as much posting as there used to be-maybe not as many doing MWL right now???
Continue the good fight!!!

Yay Deb!! Congrats on the great loss. Any advice on what to do to have a week like you did? I take your message to heart about sticking with it. I have lost and regained countless times and want to kick this weight once an for all. Keep up the great work because you're worth it!

Cindy!! You were an inspiration for me when I started on this site! I'm so glad we are still signing in. Hoping that others are like you, lurking, but just haven't posted regularly, and are being encouraged. Don't be ashamed, my friends!! Sign in! We need you, and you need us! What a blessing we have with the freedom to be able to have our own support group online here!!

Barb....it's the basics....went to the clinic, got AS (which I only take 1/2 of the one per day AS, and 1 to 2 Fat Burners daily)....JOURNAL....exercise when I can....drink my Smart Water, record water, same-o same-o as losing it the first time. It's not "easy". But neither is it easy to fit into all the goal weight clothes I have....I gave away all the previous clothes I had worn in my 150's to 160's on my way down to goal the first time!!!

OK, gotta go work on grad school project. JOY Have I mentioned I'm counting down the weeks til grad school is over?!

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement.

I agree Rachel about testing the waters and before you know it you are right back where you started plus some. I'm trying but it's really hard but I know that I can.

I actually went to the gym for Cardio Kickboxing and really liked it. I'm going to definitely go back Tuesday for that class.

Have a great day everyone.

I just had to post about a handy product I picked up, at our local dollar store(Dollar Tree) no less. It is a microwave pan for making omelets. I also picked up a poached egg pan, also $1. I know these have been out for awhile but I had never tried one and for $1 figured what the heck. I made a egg beater omelet at work in less that 1 1/2 minutes and it was really good.
I just mix up what ever I want in a tupperware before I leave for work then cook it when I have time. I don't usually care for the taste of egg beaters but have found if I mix it with one real egg I don't even taste the egg beater.

Great, simple, and quick idea, losinginFtm! I would have never thought of taking raw eggs in a tupperware to work! You might look at a recent posting I had here or in Sept about an egg casserole I made Saturday. I cut into 9 servings and let it cool in the glass pan, then I picked up, wrapped partly in wax paper so the cheese, etc would stick, placed in a baggie, and froze individually. Yesterday at work I had one in a mama lupe tortilla; just let thaw overnight in frig, put in tortilla and mashed it a little, used sl wet papertowel on dish, nuked for about 2 mins, then put ate it. GOOD!! I'll post in the breakfast thread, meant to do that a few days ago.

I have had a rough 2 days. Traveling stinks! Over calories and carbs both. At least yesterday was vege and fruit carbs.
Now I get to go home early, and went ahead and made a MWL appt for tomorrow. Hope it isn't too bad so I totally lose will power.
I hate the 'want to eat' problem!!! Why can't I just be satisfied? The first day I wasn't even hungry. Just wanted something sweet!
Hopefully I will do better at home. Determined to try a rumba class 8am Saturday. And I love sleeping in!
Going to see if ace k bothers me this weekend. Some of the low carb/cal puddings have it, so if it is ok that will give me an option. I have the walden farms choc dip which is great at home. Need to find something that is an option for ice cream when I'm traveling.
Stinks that most things have aspartame!

I thought we had a MWL Breakfast Recipes thread, didn't see it. So I posted in the Medi Friendly Recipes thread. Here it is though so you don't have to search around:

Deb's Southwester Egg Casserole - Makes 9 servings --preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spread 1 tsp Smart Balance spread inside bottom and edges of 8X8 casserole pan
place 6 beaten eggs into casserole pan,
then 2/3 cup Jimmy Dean pre-cooked turkey sausage Crumbles
1/2 cup 2% lowfat cottage cheese - mix with above
thaw and saute 1 cup frozen 3 pepper & onion - then mix with above
top casserole mixture with 4 slices Sargento sharp cheddar cheese
Bake til center is solid when checked with toothpick, about 20 - 15 minutes
Each serving is 104 protein/ 3.5 carbs/ 9 protein
May place a serving in a mama lupe tortilla also.

Hi everyone,

I have not logged in a awhile. I'm happy to report that I am maintaining my weight in the wellness phase and have even lost a few more pounds. When I think back I never would have thought it was possible, but I tell you it really is! You just have to be in that mindset to succeed and you will reach your goal too!

Good luck to all!

Hi Reebs! You've been missed!! Are you still going to the clinic? What has changed for you and now has become HABIT? We know that we cannot just go back to the way we were eating, it takes us back to the way we were!
Congratulations on maintaining, and even losing a little more! Awesome!!

Thanks! I bet Vegas was hard! I've never been but I heard the food is plentiful and good. I'm kinda dreading my upcoming Disney trip, well, at least the food aspect. Very admirable that you lost while in Sin City.

I'm going out of town AGAIN this weekend. Uggh. The staying on plan is so difficult at times. Today I am really craving Taco Bell-BADLY. I keep trying to get creative with the menu and convinve myself I can have a little something *sigh* but I know I can't. I love to eat. LOVE it. One thing I can say with this WOE is I realized I DO have great self-control.

I am so hungry (ha ha) to read more success in maintainance stories. Even the unsucessful ones. Why did you succeed? Why did you fail? Details please.

Yes travelling is the hardest, I agree. Even you don't lose, or worse, gain weight, just think of it as minor set-back. You cannot give up because of that slip-up, it is in the past. Leave it there. This will work if you work it, and it is work lol but the results will be so much better than any carb ever tasted.

Check-in after your weigh-in.

traveling

Keep it simple! That's worked for me when I have traveled. I focus on keeping my carb intake as low as possible, because I can't measure what I eat. I stick to the basics, and don't try to look like a fancy low-carb dieter. I know lean cuts of beef, chicken, and seafood work prepared grilled. I eat lots of salad and ask for Romaine, no coutons/carrots, and I eat lots of brocolli. Make sure to drink your water, and lots of it, to stave off cravings! Remember, that this is a change for the rest of your life, if you truly desire success. You have to learn to live in this upsized, carb overloaded, sugar is king, fat is fun, hypertension, diabetic privy diet ridden society of ours. If you want to be different, change the way you think of food. It is for FUEL, not fun, not to socialize, not for a treat, but do energize you solely. Live by it daily, don't think about what you can't have, think about how great you feel, when you eat the things that your body needs, not your mind! Good luck!

Thanks for the good thoughts on traveling! I'm hoping I'm home for a while. I would love to get to the point where food isn't a big focus, it is hard though based on my upbringing so it's how I've always been. Lots of years to undo!

Weigh in today and down a total of 19.5lbs of fat! Total lost at medi 20.5 Yeah!

I am going to try to be more creative with food options. Come up with some medi friendly treats to stave off those urges! Just got my first Netrition order! I am going to try Fit2010's breakfast idea tomorrow! I also got Greek yogurt to try some ideas posted.

I would be really lost without the board!

The yogurt is good with your favorite Crystal Light packet sprinkled in, not the whole thing though.

Congratulations on maintaining, and even losing a little more! Awesome!!
Hi Deb!

I have not been to the clinic since I reached my goal the beginning of August, but I plan on going soon. I am really curious to see if my water weight and fat % have changed. What has changed for me other than my eating is I have not had enough time for exercise since I started school FT again which I really need to find time for. Also I am not drinking as much water as I was on summer break because I can't be running to the bathroom all the time in class As far as habits I need to watch out for reaching for a cracker or cookie from time to time now. If I can keep from doing that I know I can maintain this weight.

Hi everyone, glad to see so many people going strong! And anyone who has a bad week or two, don't let it become a bad month! The hardest part was starting in the first place and you got that behind you, so if you ever struggle, just start fresh in your mind.

I just had my 10-week visit, down 5.2 for the week and 63.4 pounds total.
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to post advice and encouragement, I can't believe how much it helps me to come here.

Yeah and Funny!

I realized this morning that I've lost the most amount ever on a diet! And I'm the lowest I've been in 4 years! Yeah!!

Funny - I made eggs in the microwave with egg beaters. Didn't think they might cook up differently! Made a mess! And reading receipes had never thought to spray the cup to help with cleanup - but that won't help with the outside!

Thanks to the board! I didn't even think of egg beaters. Same protein but less calories!

jbjb93 - I think we've all made that mess. Live and learn! I prefer a yolk in my eggs most times, so like rees mentioned, I've mixed one egg with some egg beaters. You can do a lot of different things with eggs. I've even had egg salad for bkfst!
