Thanks everyone! Let me tell you it has been hard at times and I have not stayed true to plan at all times, but I never gave up on it and kept going the next day. Like others have said this board has been extremely helpful in my journey especially the recipes (just made the mini cheesecakes with fiber one crust from the dessert thread...very good!) With all the information and good advice I've read here I feel I am ready to maintain this weight. Btw, to celebrate I got my hair done and cut off 5 inches for a big change.

That's just amazing! WTG, Jeff!

I had kind of a rough night. Cooking for my family is just hard and I need to figure out something with that, especially last night as I was way more hungry than I've been the last few days.

I finally(?) got the headache everyone complains about in the beginning, and apparently this is jacking with my cycle and was hit a week too early with unexpected, brutal cramps. TMI, I know ... but I'm very thankful for the 800mg Ibuprofin I have in the cabinet.

I'm going to have to try a bit less water today. This getting up in the middle of the night having to pee is kicking my butt ... and I can't afford to be dragging this kind of ass at work. lol

Still very positive, though, according to my scale I'm down 8lbs already.

Have a great day everyone.

Whoo Hoo!! Way to go Reebs!!

Jeff - You are living proof that you can do this consistently! It makes a difference when you set time for yourself and do some exercise that you actually enjoy. Good job!

Christy - Congratulations on staying positive and sticking with it!! You can DO this!

Congrats Jeff, you are doing so well! You must be feeling great.

Christy, hang in there, you will start to feel better. Just make sure you get your water in and make sure to get some electrolyte drinks. Stepping on the scale makes it all worth it!

For the love of everything holy ... does this week have to be so challenging?? Although we celebrated her birthday with everyone this past weekend, my daughter's actual birthday is today ... and so we picked up Chili's for dinner, and MIL brought her a cheesecake sampler from The Cheesecake Factory.

I had a great steak off of the guilt-free menu, and my DH was nice enough to get the leftover cheesecakes out of my face and put them away. lol

First weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. I have not cheated myself even once, but I've been getting on the scale everyday and seem to have stalled the last 2 days. Which is I'm sure exactly why they don't want you doing that.

I'm going to start going back to the gym tomorrow, I had been going pretty regularly before I started the program and stopped because they told me to ... but I feel gross and lazy for not going.

Week 3 down and counting!

Lost 7.1 in my third week for a total of 32.5 so far! Continue to be really pleasantly surprised at how many things I can eat that I actually like, and how they can be combined to keep it interesting. This board continues to be my primary source of inspiration and information--thanks to all of you, and congratulations to you all as well! Even those who may be struggling right now, you deserve congratulations for continuing to work at it, and I am confident that your hard work will ultimately bring happy results.

Let's go out there and lose!

Hello to everyone I have a question that another member has asked over in the engery in thread I too have wondered about this, I know some of you have been doing this for a long time and have the wisdom I lack here. If you exercise each day and burn 300-400 cals and are eating 500-600 cals a day is that correct? Iam not looking to pig out on more food but wonder if this could be stalling a greater loss of weight if you are not replace some of the lost calories. So there is the question to all of you posting and those who are just reading this please log on and lend me your imput and advice. I thank all of you in advance. PS: drinking 3-4 liters of water too each day.

Cathy - I was told to replace only a few not all of them
Christyran - I'm interested to know what your clinic tells you

Been MIA the last 2 days due to work, this week brifing:

Sunday and Monday were excellent days

Tuesday day off both food and exercise as per clinic instructions however my back was hurting from Monday's bosu class

Wednesday was terrible I was so busy at work I missed breakfast, a co-worker got me what she thought was a healthy lunch (she did it without telling me which was very nice of her and a great effort) a crispy buffalo chicken sandwich on a roll with mayo and BLT, didn't get all my water (only 4 cups), my back pain was worse and add TOM

Working from home today in some pain/discomfort, back on the diet, make good progress on the water intake but still unsure about making it to the gym

Ahh no matter what I'm not giving up!

Officially down 8.8 lbs for my first week.

I asked about the exercise, and she told me at this point in the diet for me, not to burn more than 2-300 calories, even though I typically burn closer to 6-700 in my normal workouts ... and to eat enough to compensate for anything I burn that makes me under 500 calories for the day.

Since they set me at 650, if I burned 300 calories I would need to consume an additional 150 protein calories.

This might be different for people who are deeper into the program than me, but I don't know for sure.

Thank you! It's kind of weird losing that much so quickly, already feeling smaller in my clothes. And since I really didn't have too big of an issue with cravings other than once or twice, it was almost effortless. The biggest challenge is getting all of those pills down all of the time. lol

She gave me the go-ahead to have a serving of veggies tonight and I have to say, that was the best 1/2 cup steamed broccoli in the history of the Universe!

Question about counting protein calories:

I'm looking at the little wedge of Lite Laughing Cow creamy swiss, and the total calories are 35, but there are 2 grams of protein.

Do I count the whole 35 against my total, or 2 X 4 = 8 protein calories against my total?

Count the whole 35 calories towards your protein total. Or else you'll be eating TONS of calories at the 2 X 4 = 8 rate.....I had the same question when I was in acute! That's why we are choosing to eat foods that are high in protein, low in carbs, lower in fat....

Lots of last minute projects, assignments to do between DD calling now for input/help with wedding things; getting ready for students and grad school to resume in less than 2 wks; and DH deciding that he needed new shoes and shirt for the wedding (he's had 9 months to get these and the date is next week, and his shoes were ordered 24 hours ago!)

Trying to eat well but not seeing the numbers on the scale I really wanted to be at this time. I know I'm not drinking enough water, but I'm trying! I think the stress (cortisol) is making me stay at this size...and I'm okay with it, resigned to it. Just don't want those darn muffin tops showing up in pictures when I'm in pants! Think I'll wear my spanx all week!!

Going to really try to get out for a 4 1/2 mile bike ride tomorrow AM before I have to go to work! I NEED it! Isn't it great when you get to the point where you MISS exercise?

Thank you, and you're welcome!

Today was my first day at the gym since I started the program and it was kind of hard. Not hard, as in I struggled, but hard, as in ... I usually go for 45-60 minutes on the elliptical trainer, but I was at 300 calories burned after only 26 minutes. I actually had to force myself to stop because I still hadn't done any abs or stretching. lol But I loved being back at the gym. I feel really good.

So for dinner I had this brilliant idea to melt a little of the light laughing cow cheese on my broccoli. OMG ... I feel like I was being naughty that was so, so good!

It's 8:00 and because of my workout, I'm still 200 calories short for the day even after all the fish I just ate for dinner ... and I'm stuffed.

Went to the clinic on Friday and I lost 9lbs but gained 2lb water. Not much of a celebration for me since I had gained 5lbs. But YES a lose is a lose!!!

My days go from extreme to the next. I'm either bored out of my mind or extremely busy and right now I want and need one of those bored out of my mind days! This week will not be any better, I have to commute to the NYC which means up at 4AM and get back home at 7PM ugh....... I know I know I shouldn't complain, I have a job

Wow....over nine pounds and not being in week one...that is so awesome!! Guess your muscles finally gave up the inflammation and you lost of lot in water weight, even though you are up 2.

Just a update. I started the C25K a couple of weeks ago, in fact tomorrow is the last day of week two, and I love it!. I am forcing myself not to do more than what the program states, keeping it to 3x a week and to the time recommended (well I am walking a bit longer but no more than 5 more minutes). I changed from doing it outside to a gym setting because I run/walk at 5am and while I feel safe in my neighborhood I feel more secure in the gym.
Going into a full 10-12hr work day after my exercise and I feel great. Who knew, wish I had started it about 6months ago.

Wanted to share my good news! When I first found this site last month I was reading to prepare for my first week in MWL. I read the term ONEderland many times and "wondered" what you all meant.

Today, 4 weeks after starting the program I am there...ONEderland that is! 20# in 4 weeks!! I am excited about the next month and have set a, hopefully, realistic goal of 8 to 10 pound loss...but am really hoping for 10.

Thanks for letting me share!
