christyran/guitarig/Cathy - Thanks, I know, it was immediate reaction specially since I was told to increase my calories and carb intake. I've taken a deep breath and kept telling myself to relax and jut keep on focusing (easier said than done specially since I'm so inpatient)

Everything is bought, weighed and measured and ready to go for tomorrow.

She said the blackened fish was one of the best choices, just nothing on the side.

And the pickles and sugar free jello with a squirt of redi-whip she said I could eat week one really eased some of my anxiety ...

christyran - You will be fine, just stay focused and motivated. I totally understand the work temptation. In my aisle there's food every day, its ridiculous. A few of the ladies are taking a baking class and they bring in their class/homework, a gentleman is taking culinary classes also bringing in his work, the folks returning from vacation bring in sweats and associates traveling from UK, India and Australia bring chocolate and cookies, ugh! The best part is they send emails notifying everyone of the delicious treats with a picture and these folks really shouldn't be eating any of the stuff they bring in!

This forum is a great support system, to keep you focus, inspired and motivated by all the success stories. It's definitely helped me, specially since I've had to stop 3 times for medical reasons. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions, want to vent or just to chat

So.... has anyone ever had a nose bleed in their sleep? I woke up this morning and my pillowcase and arm were covered in dried blood. This has never happened to me before.

As some background... I'm under a lot of stress right now. Work hasn't been too great the last few months, I'm on Phendimetrizine 4 times a day, I started a weight lifting program and I'm on week 2 day 4. I've also just started a course for the LSATS.

Could this stress have led to a nosebleed?

Ferra, that is great! I am new here, on week 3. Reading LOTS on this forum. Your results are amazing and I started out close to your starting weight and my goal is close to yours as well. Since you graduated HS 18 yrs ago, I'd say I'm probably 15 plus yrs older than you though.

Soooo, what's your advice on doing as well as you did? I haven't cheated once but am only walking for exercise at this point. Could you give me some tips? I would love to be done with the acute phase in 6 months so I can really focus on MAINTAINING (my hardest job!)

Thanks for any advice in advance and again, congrats on the size 6.

Thanks Deb. How are things with you. I've been reading your posts and it seems that you are still working towards your goal. When's your DD's big day? Are you ok with where you are weight wise? I feel the best thing is to not stress about it and it'll happen.

Take care,

Thanks. My advice is only to do as the clinic tells you. I have done just what my clinic told me and followed the plan. I have to admit there have been a couple of times I cheated. However, nothing extreme. I, also have to admit that I wonder how far I would be by now if I had exercised more the whole time. I exercise almost everyday now and have been for the past 3 weeks. Before that it was at least once or twice a week. The program works especially if you work it. Stay committed to it and any issues ask here and/or your clinic. Good luck on your journey.

So far, so great! And love this board!

So far I've lost 15.5 the first week and 9.9 the second, and I would tell anyone 2 (or more) weeks after me to just stick to the plan, follow instructions and don't cheat--you'll only be cheating yourself.

Thanks to everyone here for all the positive energy and great information (and recipes)!!! Onward and downward!

Thanks to both of you! Ferra, that's just what I wanted to hear actually. I was afraid you were going to say that you exercised 3 hours a day and I was going to feel overwhelmed. I will keep walking, up my days of walking and take that part slow (increasing exercise) for now as my clinic suggested.

That's incredible! Congratulations!

My first day is going brilliantly. I was ridiculously nauseated this morning after my first round of pills, but as soon as I got enough liquid in my belly it went away.

And I have to say, those Southwestern Eggbeaters are delicious ... I would make those even if I weren't watching what I was eating. My kids liked them, too.

I've been off the MWL this week eating 1200 calories a day I went to the clinic this morning and GREEN light to start W1D1 tomorrow but I have to be very careful how much calories I'm burning when I exercise.

minor set back no big deal, coming back stronger

That's wonderful news!

I passed my first day, first challenge with flying colors ... my in-laws wanted to take us out to eat at Hearthstone. BAKERY. I love that place so I thought I might have a problem, but no worries at all.

The girl at the counter was happy to give me just shaved turkey and a pickle without batting an eye. I have no idea how much they gave me, though ... so I came home and took my own shaved turkey and measured about what it looked like they gave me. Which looked to be about 4 ounces.

If it was a little more I probably needed it. Our company is moving locations at the end of the month and I spent 3 hard hours in the 102 heat this afternoon moving and hauling boxes. I did drink an extra electrolyte drink and far, far surpassed my required water.

Had a great day ... feel wonderful!

Tomorrow ... school clothes shopping and Hard Rock Cafe. And the Ghost Tour!

Hey DG, what is W1D1? I do not go to the clinic anymore, but I do exercise and get in about 600 cals a day, Iam thinking maybe I need a bit more like 700-800 to keep up with the lost cals from exercise. Anyone with imput here I would love to hear from you..... Thanks
I post my exercise in the energy in and energy out thread. Please join us there it you are exercising while doing Medi we would love the company.

Two weeks from today...............we'll be adding a son in law to the family. I'm wrapping my head around being okay with my weight (about 153 lbs right now)....but I'd like to be 148 by the wedding. Discussed with my clinic doctor a couple weeks ago and I think I'll change my goal weight to 145, that's where it was initially. I'll leave it at 137 on this LCF site though and see if I can reach it again....when I see the posting of 137 it reminds me of my previous success and that I've still got a task at hand! Thanks for asking.

Hello I'm new starting the diet today and was wondering if I'm only cinsuming 500 calories and if I workout and burn 250 calories, should I replace them? Sorry if this question was already answered, still reading through the newbie thread

Did your clinic tell you to start exercising already? If this is all new, I'd say do not exercise yet. Get through this first week so that you are in ketosis.

Ah so you plan, plan, plan but at the end it's all in God's hands. I was having breakfast when my cousin called me to baby sit as she was heading to the hospital for an early delivery. Beautiful baby girl, Arianna 8lbs 2oz

All I've had was 3 canadian bacon and a 3 egg whites omelet. My head is pounding and truth be told I'm trying to suppress the nagging feeling of defeat. But I'm shaking it off, taking a deep breath and starting W1D1 tomorrow.

So please dear Lord, help me

at last :)

Stepped on the scale this morning and finally saw a "15" to start the number. It's been months coming (actually more like almost 20 years coming), but finally some movement in the right direction. It was only a pound difference, but I feel so motivated to keep pushing. My abs ache from yesterdays Jillian shred workout, but I feel fantastic! I want to scream I LOVE PROTEIN from the rooftop..LOL..ok, just kidding Keep pushing everyone, we can do this!

It's crazy how 1 pound gone can make you feel ... congratulations!

I'm just finishing up day 3 and feel fine. Haven't had any headaches or dizziness, and no cheating or cravings either. I am going for the mid-week booster tomorrow because I am starting to feel a little fatigued.

We had dinner last night at the Hard Rock for my daughter's 16th birthday ... chose the blackened Mahi Mahi and a grilled shrimp skewer. It was fabulous and satisfying, and only gazed wantingly at my friend's salad once. lol

I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself, but I'm a scale ho', what can I say? It says -6 so far, which would make me in the "25" ... so far to go, but I can't say I wasn't happy to see that. I've lost the same 10 pounds about a hundred times in the last several months. I hope this time I'm breaking the cycle.

Speaking of cycles ... have any of you ladies experienced a disruption in yours when you first started the program, even on BCP?

Happy to report that as of Tuesday I am in wellness! Yay! now the hard part of maintaining the weight that I haven't seen in almost 7 years. I'm finding it hard to eat even 1000 calories let alone get anywhere close to the 1500 limit my clinic said to stay at to maintain. So maybe it won't be as hard as I'm expecting. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations Barb and Reebs - You've come a long way baby!! BTW - how tall are you?

Set a line in the sand and tell yourself you will NOT go up to that weight AGAIN....ever!! Right now my line in the sand is 160. When I get to 149 again I'll change the line in the sand to 150. Lately I've been biking and swimming hard alot (outdoors) and I've built muscle...so I'm giving myself a little grace about that, but realistically I know I look and feel better in the 140's. I agree it's tough to start into maintenance -- it takes more planning. BUT YOU CAN DO THIS!! Woo Hoo!!

Hi Barb, congrats to you! I wanted to ask how long have you been doing the shred? I did the 30 day shred for the month of June and then started her 6 week abs. I love her workouts...they have helped moved the scale for me and I know the inches are comming off in the right spots. I hope you have the same results.

Like you said we just need to to keep on pushing eachother through, it will be worth the work to be fit and heathly.

Christy - I think I am a scale ho, too! That totally cracked me up! Glad you're making through week 1 so well. Bet you never thought a salad would be so inviting!

Reebs - Congratulations! I hope you do something nice for yourself to celebrate.

I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back for every good day we have. Exercising and eating LC are not always easy (at least not for me!) and every day we keep our commitment to ourselves is a good one.

Like you said we just need to to keep on pushing eachother through, it will be worth the work to be fit and heathly.

Hi Cathy,

I did level 1 for several weeks just on days I couldn't get to the gym. Now I'm doing the same with level 2, for about two weeks now. It kills me, but I can see and feel the difference. I have to admit, I'm scared to even think of level 3!

That is terrific! What a fabulous accomplishment!

I can't wait until I'm on your side of the fence (again!). I maintained a significant weight loss for about 6 years up until about 4 years ago, when I quit smoking and my thyroid decided to crap out all at the same time. It's actually not that difficult to succeed. Now that you have all of the right tools, you know exactly what to do (and have the proof that you can do it!) if you were to ever see the weight start creeping up on you.

Awesome!

I've got the, "I'm-not-used-to-drinking-128oz-of-anything-all-in-one-day,-waking-up-every-night-at-2-3:00am-to-pee" sleeping issue. Well that, and the prescription speed I'm not used to yet. lol

The salad and the gym! I was planning on going to the gym and maybe just walking on the treadmill for a little while because I've been going very regularly for the last several months. But I was totally wiped out when I got home from work. I still might just go for a short walk around the neighborhood with my daughter later when it cools down. Pffft ... cools down? It goes from 105* to maybe 92*. I sure wish we would get a break from this heat.

I'm actually surprised with how well I've been doing so far, although the last 2 nights having to cook for my family have been pretty hard. I made turkey burgers tonight so I could at least eat the patty, but I made them tater tots, too. And I love tater tots.

Didn't even snag one of them, but it sure was HARD! lol

Is there a pat yourself on the back emoticon?
