FL New Looking for friends/support
I just completed day 2 on MWL...I feel like I finally found a program that will work for me. I obviously(if you saw me) don't make good choices on my own so it is extremely helpful to have them tell me what to eat, exercise etc. All I have to do is DO IT!:p
So - I am 5'8 started this program at my highest weight EVER 239.
Day 1 was actually easier than I expected. I even had to eat a egg white around 9pm to get to the 500 cals...so not like me!
Today Day 2, still not bad. Love the appetite suppressant, it helps alot! I have taken it before along with every other thing out there..
My goal is to get to 160 OR more importantly get my butt into a size 10. I can't remember ever being in a 10. 9th grade I was in a 14 and thought I was fat..would kill to have that figure back..
Water is not a problem..I suck down over 64 while I am at work..
I did weigh this morning, I know I shouldn't but I wanted verification that 1 day was a success..and WOW down 4 lbs. Now I know that is "water" but I don't care..as long as that number on the scale is going down I am happy!
I only told a handful of people/friends what I am doing..just the ones that I know will be supportive.
Debating on exercise..Dr said that people ususally don't feel good so they don't push it on week 1 but I feel fine..should I go ahead? He said it wouldn't hinder..
Ketosis.. so I tried the sticks today..I know soon right..but it turned a pale pink?? Is this possible? So Soon?
Tuesdays are my weigh in days and I am really praying for 10lbs...is this unrealistic? I am 44% fat OMG! that was hard to see..108lbs of fat...
BMI charts say 135-160 for my height..picked 160 just because it is on the top end.
Tired of being told:
* you are just big boned
* you carry your weight well
* I can't see you getting down to 160 you will look sick
Bday coming up 8-12 and I really want to be down 20lbs! Setting weekly goals for myself, hoping this will help. Need to focus on the next 7 days not the next month..
Well hope to find some folks that are in their journey and can give tips, success stories etc..
Welcome aboard. I'm a Tuesday weigh in as well. First week I lost 18.6 lbs, but I'm also 6'2 and wast 370. There's not reason you shouldn't lose 8 - 10 lbs the first week. I lost 9 lbs the second week and am currently in my 3rd. I felt good and started exercise right away, but make sure you do some resistance / strength training so you retain your muscle.
You'll definately be down 20lbs by your birthday. Just stick to the program, listen to the Dr. You could even be down 30 by then! Once you get past the first week, or in my case week 2, they start adding in snacks and veggies. Keep at it and if you have any questions the peopl on this board have been super helfpul / supportive to me. :welcome:
Be sure to check out the thread for week 1 http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/me...eek-1-2-a.html aswell as the Week 1 weight loss thread http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/me...ight-loss.html As well as all of the recipe threads. You'll get good recipe ideas there as well as menu ideas (and accountability) on the Energy in (FOOD) energy out (EXERCISE) thread http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/me...-exercise.html
THEN be sure to join us on the monthly thread. Many people ONLY read that thread, so if you have questions that MAY be the place to post so you're more likely to get a reply. Here is the one for July http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/me...p-success.html :welcome:
Hi Jen! I'm Jenn as well and want to tell you that YOU CAN DO IT! Trust me....I started at 230 and have never in my teenage/adult life weighed less than 170 lbs. Like you, I was always told that I was "big boned", would always be a "big girl", could never be "thin", "lucky to wear a size 12 at best..... and so on.
Let me tell you that I proved them (and myself) allll wrong! I'm only 16 lbs away from my goal weight of 130. I follow right by the diet and live in a bit of fear of ever peeing on that stick and not seeing pink! :-)
I read this blog religiously and research new and exciting low calorie/low carb recipes to break up the monotony. I did find it easier at first to just stick to eating the same things (lunchmeat, veggie cheese slices, Laughing Cow wedges, precooked frozen chicken breasts...etc) until I could teach myself portion control and what a serving really looked like.
If you want to discuss any of this outside of here, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I wish you all the luck and know YOU CAN DO IT!
