easter strategy...since i am not going home to my mom's, its just me and 2 of the kids. hubby is out of town. so, i will pick up a small ham and make them a mac and cheese dish. for me, i will have ham, but i am going to make those "fake mashed potatoes" from cauliflower. i have to check the recipe though and see what the liquid is in it. i am guessing i will substitute a bit of greek yogurt for any milk, butter etc.
easter candy strategy...the kids are getting minimal candy. and i need to go by it on saturday so it wont be in the house with me!! and last but not least, we will go for a family walk! |

Since there isn't any family around I am not doing anything special for Easter so I'm not worried. tomorrow morning is my first weight in and I'm hoping for a good number. Hooray for LTinNC 6.6 is great.

my first weigh in
Hi all, haven't gotten a chance to get here until now since the weather was finally nice here (NY) I was able to get out into the yard. I had my first weight in on Saturday morning at 8 am and I was happy I lost 8 lbs and they were surprised that 5 lbs of it was fat and 3 water. I know I can have veggies and fruit this week but they asked me if I wanted to do week 1 again and I said yes!! I thought I'd have some veggies on some days. Yesterday I had steamed spinach with the ham I made for Easter. I am so relieved that I actually lost but I'm already getting set that next week won't be as much because the 2nd week usually isn't that great. I'm really happy about this. thank you all for all the encouragement this chats give.

You know I was surprised when they said it too because I just figured since I was okay doing week 1 I would just go ahead and do it anyway on my own but then she said I could repeat week one but I should add the excercise.
I did buy the Medi-Bolic Melts because I can't get there during the week to get that extra free shot, although I really wish I could so I bought these hopefully to keep the energy level up and I'm drinking all day the Crystal light Energy, which has all B vitamins in it. Are you drinking all the water? I am so afraid of not losing this second week also so I'm really going to try getting to the gym. Can you believe I belong to 2 different ones and haven't been to either for months. how sad. |

mine said to wait one more week (til i start week 3) to add in exercise BUT i have been walking 2 miles a day, approx 40 mins since friday.(in addition to the 2 hours of yard work i have been doing for 2 weeks!) i felt good enough, so why not? i do get fatigued more easily. and my muscles take longer to recover. i will start back with spin classes 3x week next week. i am going to have to get over that mental block, and start eating the calories i burned....
i cant get to my clinic for the mid week shots either, i live an hour away. will have to ask about the melts. i have done the same thing...3 gyms and months between visits...down to one now. havent been in 2 weeks due to starting medi. #2 probs, i dont go as frequently or as much. but no problem going. i was gassy one afternoon. hadnt eaten anything new. not sure what was up. |

That's amazing the amount of water you drink. I have to believe you may just be off to a slow start this week and by Friday it'll be a good loss. That's probably the reason they say don't weight yourself during the week you might feel bad if you don't see the changes. My scale is broke so I think I'm glad about that.
I just can't seem to do excercise, I go back for weeks at a time then stop and find so many excuses. I did yard work both days this weekend and could hardly walk once I finished so I'm hoping that counts for something. As far as the bathroom problems mentioned I have been fine, although not going as much but of course I'm not eating as much. In between some days I have been taking alli because I thought that would help alittle and I had it anyway, one of those other things I tried in the past. You have to be careful taking that because you think you may have gas and then find out it's not... terrible to have to worry about, that's probably why I stopped taking it but now I'll take it once a day. I'll try anything if it'll help. |

week 2 weigh in....down .9lbs...yes that is POINT 9. trying to be positive. i did not go off program. i drank my water. i took my meds. i exercised.
fat loss on the scale was down 2.6....another point to be positive about. my PA was encouraging, changed a few things around ie upped my calories. she said she knew people want to see more and it will come.... bummer, but not quitting! i do FEEL good even if the scales done reflect it! |

Hi! I have a question... Susie how exactly are you preparing your miracle noodles? Rinsing? Using vinegar? I keep keep seeing post referring to "Susie's preparation" but I can't find the exact method any where. Any help would be great! Thanks

HELLO!
Thanks to everyone for their inspiring posts. I have struggled with weight issues my whole life and I decided this time that I will do something and stick with it. Just started Medi weight loss on 4/7/2012... so far doing well. My first weigh in showed a loss of 10.4 lbs WOOT WOOT!
Am a little confused the second week so I am just eating two veg or one veg one fruit and a fat on top of the proteins i already eat. To those that have been doing medi for a while, when do we actually get any of the carbs added? |

HI mrsd and welcome! i am midway thru week 3, so i cant answer the adding in carbs question. but yes, you are right, keep eating your assigned protein and add 2 veggies ( or a fruit and veggie) and a fat. all from the approved list they gave you.
i found that moving to week 2 gave me more food to think about and made me realize i loved the simplicity of week 1! |

Great job schleprock!!
I returned yesterday for my first weigh in in 3 woks after returning from vacation in Thailand. When I got home I got right back on plan as my feet were swollen from the 28 hr flight. I ended up w a gain of .9 lb... They were happy w that . I guess I should be too. Im losing slow this time which is discouraging. I'm going to start the couch potato to 5k program this week to see if it gives me a boost. It's so hard to fit in exercise w my crazy work schedule...we ll see.. Gd luck this week everyone!!! Week 2 weigh in was 4 lbs so I am glad about that, I repeated week one because it was so easy and the PA said it was okay. This week I am having some veggies but staying away from any fruit he said that having fruit will knock you right out of ketosis so I'd rather not and by adding veggies at least it's more variety.
Hey, LTinNC I know next week it will catch up to you and it will be a great loss, keep the faith. Last edited by peaches0416; 04-18-2012 at 05:44 AM.. |

LTinNC, thanks I was surprised too I didn't think I'd get that much. I had company staying the weekend and haven't been able to post. Friday night they took us to dinner but I stuck with it except I cut open an egg roll and scooped out the inside. Good luck to you tomorrow I'll log in the in the PM to see how you are, I know you'll do good I think sometimes our bodies just need to kick into gear. I actually went to the gym yesterday and did sometime on the treadmill, it's a start. I really hope I could do 4 lbs for the next 2 weeks which would give me 20lb loss, I go on vac. May 6th and it would be nice. I don't plan to go crazy eating but would like some cocktails while laying around the pool.

hi peaches, and everyone else, too!
week 3 update.... POINT 9 AGAIN. i we reviewed the program, literature, recipes and my journal. cant really find any obvious problems...other than my stubborn body! was down 1.8 in fat though. trying to stay positive, but if next week doesnt bring improvement, i will have to consider doing this on my own. for the $56 a week (military discount) and losing .9 a week i cant keep it up for 50 more weeks! |

LTinNC
I don't understand you said .9 but then 1.8 fat so isn't that more than .9 sorry I am missing what you mean. I know what you mean about doing it yourself without a discount mine is $86 a week and now this week I need vitamins. |

i "lost" 1.8 in fat but "gained" some water ounces, therefore the scale total doesnt move as much as the fat loss alone.
my scale total is 197.4 but when you look at the breakdowns of fat and water from week to week, you can see them fluctuate. |
