PaVegan, I didn't feel any different until my 4th day. That day I had zero energy and a horrible headache and I was moody. The next day I was fine again. How many carbs are you having a day now? I still had some carbs the first week, just very few, and I was in ketosis my 3rd day. I have a scale at home so I weighed daily and knew I was losing, but I definitely didn't feel it. I've also read on this board that some people never show in ketosis on the strips, but still lose just fine on this plan.

The first week for all of us is rough, vegan or not. It is only one week of your life, you can do it. I am currently on week 8 and can say the carb/sugar cravings have lightened but I still have those moments I have to fight with myself. I feel like it is very simular to the battle to quit smoking, its very much an inner battle with yourself. Now that I get it, I hope I can control it!
Tipsy, I love my coffee in the morning! pick your battles, you can do it sugar free

Hi Everyone! Today, my FIRST day on MediWeightLoss, started with vitamins, appetite suppressant, a hard boiled egg and cup of coffee. I shopped last night and will prepare the next few days' meals ahead of time. I feel like I have all of the tools (food scale, etc), and am committed, yet still nervous. The excitement of looking/feeling different somewhat quickly should keep me on track.
I am loving this site and know I'll learn so much from all of you. Any week #1 tips you can share will be greatly appreciated. |

Weigh in # 2 for me tomorrow .... Here's hoping for a gd loss!!
Welcome Gemini!! This program is awesome...just follow it...journal...take your supplements..drink your water...voila wt loss! I agree with Andy throw away your scale...I don't step on mine during the week, fluctuations in wt drive me insane and my scale isn't as accurate as theirs anyway!! |

Thanks for the welcome. Best of luck, Andy, for weigh-in #1 and Herewego, for weigh-in #2. I'll look forward to following your progress!
I meant FOOD SCALE....so that I know how many oz I'm eating. :-) I'm so worried about overeating. I need to start cooking so I have something already on hand. I need to be ready for later today and back to work tomorrow. I don't think I'm drinking enough today yet either (I've always been more eater than drinker). Any advice on consuming all necessary fluids? |

1. Plan your meals for the week and shop accordingly. 2. Eat your biggest meal in the morning. And eat often. I am allowed 700 cal of protein per day. I generally have about 250 cal for breakfast (7am), have a Medi Peanut Butter Bar (my favorite) at 10 (100 cals), eat lunch at noonish (175 cals ~ 5oz of lean meat plus a small salad; not in week 1 though), 3pm ~ 2oz of lean deli meat (70 cals), and 4oz of lean meat/seafood or 3 oz beef for dinner ~ 6pm (140 - 165 cal) and sometimes a veggie. 3. Drink. And then drink some more. After that, have a drink. 4. If I am out of calories and need something at night, sugar free jello is good. 5. Buy a pill tray and fill it for the entire week. This is a huge time saver. Also, buy a little travel container so you always have them with you ( I take my 10 am/Noon/2pm pills with me to work). 6. Make sure you take your pills. Like everyone, I get pretty busy, but I set my Outlook at work and my cell phone to remind me to take my pills. 7. Stay positive and understand that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. The biggest hurdle is the mental one. The physical cravings go away rather quickly. Once you get into a routine, it becomes natural and pretty easy. Once you start your weigh-ins and see the weight coming off, it's even easier. Good luck - hope this helps. |

Hooray! A very successful day #2! I'm shocked at how fantastic I feel. Drinking so much water is still an issue, but after seeing your advice, JD, I think tomorrow will be much better. I'll set my alarm per your advice as by the time I realized, it was 4:00 p.m. and much to late to take the appetite suppressant. Still.....worked 2 hours OT and was able to walk in the door, change my clothes and look through mail before getting dinner. Simply amazing. I can only hope that tomorrow will feel this good. Thanks again for the great tips. And congratulations on your success!

Don't skip the suppressants. Even if it is 4 and you are supposed to take it at 2, take it at 4. It helps. Be prepared for it to feel worse over the next few days. I remember days 3-7 as being the worst. By now, your body is realizing what you have taken away from it, and it going to get angry at you! I got headaches. Bad headaches. But they went away after a few days and a switch to the Stay Slim vs the prescription suppressant. Hang in there. Week 2 was much better.

Feeling Ill - Week 1
I’m at the end of the first week. The first two days I felt like the energizer bunny – lots of energy, not at all hungry. Day 3 was okay. Days 4-7 have been a real challenge. I feel ill: dizzy, blurred vision, cold – like I have the flu. Today I called the Doctor – waiting for a call back.
I’ve been eating 500-550 calories, drinking chicken broth & an electrolyte beverage (Propel 0). My ketones are in the in the mid pink range – I think because I drink at least 16 + 8oz glasses of water per day. I read that this much water could dilute urine and cause the stick not to register properly. What should I do? |

Just got through Day #3 and I feel great. I couldn't resist getting on the scale this morning (I promise not to do it regularly), and I've already lost 5 lbs! C'mon, seriously? I did feel a little spacey a few times where I lost my train of thought, but all in all had a productive and successful day. I'm nervous about the rest of the week, as I keep reading others' stories about feeling flu ish. Checking in here at the end of each day is something I look forward to, so thanks for being there/here. :-)

I love reading about everyone's losses! It makes me want to work harder! I miss the shots but Im trying not to think about those and to concentrate on what I do have which is the appetite suppressant. Without that whoooooo! I find that I can get by fine on two a day and Im stock piling my third.
Down 9 pounds in 10 days..... not to shabby! |

Congrats to everyone on their losses
That's wonderful. I went in yesterday for my 2 week visit. Lost 3 pounds! very happy with that since the second week is usually a low number anyway. Total of 13 pounds in 2 weeks!! Starting week 3 today. |

Whew, Day #4 behind me. Thankfully no signs of flu, headaches, etc. But I'm having one heck of a time sleeping. I had to give up the 3rd appetite suppressant day before yesterday and hoped for a good night's sleep last night, but no go. Thank goodness for that first AS 1st thing in the morning. Also, I may sprout feathers if I eat any more chicken. Salmon for dinner tonight is a welcomed relief.
It was a gorgeous day in Maryland today and took a great long walk at lunchtime. I'm surprised and thrilled that I've been able to keep my commitment to myself. And seeing YOUR success makes me that much more excited! Good job, everyone! And thanks so much for your support & inspiration! Btw....may I have sugar free jello in week #1? I didn't think I could have ANYTHING except protein! |
