Janet ~ Call you clinic about the cheese. It seems like every clinic is different. My clinic said no to cheese in week 1.

I used the College Inn low sodium broth. It is the lowest calorie broth that I could find. I typically found it at Wal-Mart or Publix (not sure if you have Publix in AL?)

Janet - my clinic allowed low fat cheese in week 1 but some don't so its probably best if you call and ask. Don't give up, once this week is over you'll feel better. On my third day I felt horrible and like I couldn't do it anymore. I'm on week 2 day 2 now and I feel 100% better. Just hang in there, and good luck!

Starting day 3, so far so good. Only felt hunger pains around 4:30pm on day 2. Other then that I've been doing really well. I'm sure the easiness won't last all week. I'm also happy I didn't have to give up caffene, my coffee and unsweeten tea are keeping away the headaches

Starting Medi Weight loss after a rough few months

Hello everyone, I am venturing on the medi weight loss for a second time. I started last feb. and got great results and was at my goal for 3 months. My husband and I decided to ty for our first child and I went off the program medication but stayed loyal to the eating. We found out in November we were expecting and it was bliss. Unfortunetly, mother nature said this was not the time, and I miscarried at the beginning of the month. Having gained the weight back and then some with the pregnancy, I feel horrid. My first appointment is monday, and I can't wait!!! We have to wait 6 months to try again so I figure this is the perfect time to get back to where I was instead of being miserable. If anyone has any advice, similar stories, it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

The one thing I kept telling myself in week one is that it its only one week....dont I owe it to myself to do it right? This same thought carries me through the rough moments. This weekend so far I resisted many temptations and I love not being out of control. If i can do it you can too!!!

Newbie

I'm so glad I found this forum. I started Medi 5 weeks ago and am struggling. I can't get to ketosis! I can't wait to go to my appointment tomorrow!
I switched over to a new center last week and started week one again, but I should have hit ketosis on Sunday.

How old are your keto sticks? I have had them go bad in less than a month. I store mine away from the bathroom since the humidity really seems to make them go bad quickly. Do you feel like you are in ketosis... stinky breath, metallic taste in your mouth, decreased appetite...?

I received the test sticks 5 weeks ago when I joined. I will have to check the date on the box.

Hi

Hi everyone! This is actually my third time starting the plan. Last year I did great and was 10 pounds from goal. Started again in January. I became engaged and through the excitement I became unfocused. I was almost embarrassed to return to the clinic but I did so on yesterday. I'm determined to get to goal this time. And i want to look my best on my wedding day May 12! Since we're an older couple just having a simple ceremony and reception In our home. Then 2 days later leaving on a cruise to The Bahamas. Not thats a serious incentive.

Hello everyone... I started my 2nd journey on Medi wt loss yesterday. I gained back 38 lbs and while off Medi have dieted my way back up to this wt on my own, doing well for a few days and then blowing it and beating myself up. Medi worked like a charm while on it before and I'm hoping for good results again. I look forward to chatting with you all and learning some hints to help me stay on track, while gaining support and providing encouragement to others!! We re all in this together...I appreciate any help !! Have a great day!!

Day 3 and so far so good. I'm staying motivated and no side effects. yesterday and Monday I had a little headach but nothing I couldn't handle. Are pork skins still allowed on the plan? Last year we could have them as a snack while on weel 1. But this time I didn't see them on the plan. They are carb free but do have a little fat. I would only eat maybe 1/2-1 serving/day just in case I get a hunger pain!

Nurseingu, they were in my paperwork for week 3 I think. It was showing quick convenience store snacks I think? And pork skins was one of them. Not really sure about week 1 but since they're carb free I don't think itd be a problem as long as you watch the fat content. My 4th day of week 1 killed me, and then I was good again. I'm hoping to lose 40 by June. I hope week 1 continues smoothly for you!

I am starting my first week on the Medi plan today, Im doing it myself. I lost 40 pounds last time I did Medi and went from a size 12 to a size 4. I felt and looked amazing. Then I found out I was pregnant and gained it all back and then some. I am 6 months post baby and have managed to lose 40 pounds on my own but I still have 36 to go. I was laid off and cannot afford to go back to the clinic as much as I want to. So i have a Dr that will write me a script for the phendrimetrzine and I have my supplements and my ketois strips, so Im doing it myself. So happy I found this forum to help me along the way.
Can I have coffee week one? Im afraid of the headaches without it, but will totally ditch it if I need to. Excited to start my journey again!

i never stopped having my morning coffee, i did have it without creamer tho the first week, then I moved to low fat half and half. In general from reading the forums some people have stall outs from creams and chesses so just dont go crazy

Hi Everyone!! Well I made it through the weekend. Stayed on point and on track!!! I just put my mind to it and whenever I felt hungry I grabbed some sugar free jello and that was the answer. I really like the one/day AS. I take it between 9A and 10A and it holds me all day. I can feel the effects more around 3-4PM. And that's when I need it the most. Weigh in tomorrow!!!

I thought I had seen them somewhere.....anyway I did consume some. But measured out servings and have them bagged seperately. Don't consume over 1 serving/day if that. They do have 6g fat/serving so I am careful with the consumption. Today is my 7th day of week one "again"!!! Sticking to it this time. Want 30 pounds off by May 1st.

Thanks so much MiniMama. I used sugar free and measured out one tablespoon exactly. Day 6 and feeling lighter already. Made it through the weekend including a kids birthday party where cupcakes and cocktails were on the menu. Whoooooo!

Yes My3noodles the first week is kind of tough. The third and fourth day were the hardest. Made lots of sugar free jello. When I felt I needed something to eat I grabbed one of thise and that satisfied me. Just hang in there. It gets better going into the second week. And going to your follow up visit and having a huge loss is worth the effort~!

Thanks everyone! It is so amazing to have the support of people who are also going through this life changing process. I really appreciate it.

I felt great all day yesterday (Day 1) and around 8pm I became a zombie! Haha. The hubs and kids didn't know what to think. They aren't used to seeing Mommy just sitting and watching tv.

Woke up this morning feeling refreshed and ready for day 2. It's going well so far. I'm staying busy and focused.

Thanks for the tip Nurseingu. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the longest weeks of my life. haha.. I'm ready for it though.

Hi everyone,
I just started the Medi plan this week. Today is Day 3 for me, and I'm a little worried because I'm not feeling much different.
First of all, I'm vegan (no animal products), which makes my plan a lot different from everyone else since I can't completely eliminate carbs. My clinic told me to eat 600-800 calories a day of Tofu, seitan, tempeh, tvp, and kidney or black beans in moderation. It's a very limiting menu, and difficult to stay within the allotted calories since it's hard to get reduced calorie options. I have stayed within the 800 calories of protein, though. I haven't felt any decrease in energy at all. I've had a slight headache and the last two nights I've felt a little nauseous when I went to bed, but other wise I don't feel much different. I certainly don't feel like I'm losing any weight. I've had trouble losing weight in the past and I've tried low cal, high protein, low carb, and cutting out various foods (wheat, soy, sugar, etc.). I've also started working out 5-6 days a week. None of that worked, so here I am at Medi. The success stories on this thread are really promising, but now I'm worried that I won't go into ketosis because I can't eliminate carbs totally, and I'm not feeling like I'm losing any weight.
Has anyone else started this process and felt the same way? It's definitely hard to stay on the protein-only diet (especially since I'm a dessert baker!) when I don't feel any different.
