First weigh in today. I was hoping for a greater loss, but I cannot complain. It did go down. The good news is: Down 5.9 lbs. (5.2 of that was fat!) :-) I am super happy to be adding in some vegetables and yogurt.

Have a good week everyone!

Cheers!

Hello everyone!!

So glad to see everyone"s losses and good eating. Tomorrow I weigh in and start week 3. I did have 2 drinks of wine this weekend. Probably threw mw out of ketosis so I'm back on week 1 because that's probably what they're going to tell me tomorrow at the clinic and my weight will suffer. I can't look back but just move forward and DON'T let it happen again. Regatta you did good...down 5.9. I think any loss is good. TTYL......

@Lose4life2 - Good luck today! Please keep us posted on your progress.

@Karen - 2 drinks of wine isn't that bad. Don't beat yourself up. YOu have a great attitude so that will definitely help. Keep us posted.

Excited to report 6.2 lost after week 1... as much as I want my veggies, I am nervous about adding them back. The clinic told me 25-28 carbs, is that regular or net? I did notice on some paperwork they gave it had what a net carb was so I wasnt positive.

i kinda figured it was something like that. I cant wait to join up, I want to be able to play with my son and new one on the way without getting winded after 5 minutes. Hard to explain to a 3 year old why daddy cant get down on the floor and play for long, or why i cant run with him outside for long :-/

It sounds like you have some great motivation to stick with it there.. 3 year olds are hard to keep up with.. When I started my journey my youngest was 8 years old and I was heart broken the day he didn't want me to walk him into school because of my weight embarrassing him.. Plus it was so hard to go up stairs.. I decided that I really needed to do what I have to and do it for myself.. and my family. I lost around 160 and am close to goal.. Let me tell you that it feels so so good to have that weight behind me.. I never want to gain weight back because I was so miserable. You will see what I mean as you lose your weight!! Good luck to you and make sure you come to the site and post a lot as it really does help you stick to your plan as well as answer your questions and get recipes and menus to help keep you on track. Is your wife going to be dieting with you? It is so much easier if you are both doing it together but it is possible to do it by yourself also.. Just get your support here!

....that's wonderful Cheri. Losing 160 lbs is an accomplishment. There is so much motivation here. Love comong to this thread. I also had been wondering about messaging and my signature at the end of each post automatically. Guess that will come after 30 days also. When I was on the plan last year i could have pork rinds as a snack...1 oz=80 calories and <1 carb. On the updated list of snacks I do not see them listed? Does anyone know if these are still allowed?

Fasting?

Hello everyone! I am new to this site and I am going in for my first workup with medi today. My appointment time is this afternoon but my question is, does anyone know if you have to fast all day until you go in for the app? I am drinking coffee with splenda but can you eat anything at all? My clinic opens at 11 today so I can't call as of yet. Thanks to you all!

I guess I might be too late, but they do want you to be fasting so they can do blood work at the first visit. That would include no coffee too. My clinic didn't tell me that when I made my first appointment, so they just drew blood the next time.

Finishing up Day 5

Hello! I went for my 1st appointment this past Monday, started on Tuesday morning and now it's Saturday night and just found this forum! It's been great reading all the posts about weeks 1-2 and know that I'm not alone here.

It's been a rough week. First, it was very disheartening to actually realize on Monday how much I really weighed. I always avoided scales and try to make it seem like my size didn't matter to me, but it does. I've got a long, long way to go, but I'm feeling positive about this program and my commitment. Second, on Wednesday night I had to take my 13 year-old dog to the emergency vet. It's been an emotional rollercoaster since then trying to nurse him back to health and do what it takes to stick with the program. It's kind of funny though because we are both eating the same thing - grilled chicken - although he doesn't have much appetite and has eaten even less than I have.

The good thing is that I have stuck with it and I think I've done a pretty good job! I've been drinking my water, taking my pills, and sticking to my calorie limit (500-700). Since I haven't had much time to thoroughly read through the information I got on the first day to know what I can eat, I've been eating a lot of chicken because I know it is on the list. I'm hoping my dog is feeling well enough tomorrow that I can go off to the store to do some serious shopping. I'm really looking forward to getting some additional food items added to my food list this week!

My headaches seem to be gone now. I do feel hungry at times though. I also have a bad taste in my mouth at times and have been chewing gum to help that. Also, my mouth seems to get dry and I am drinking lots of water. My appointment is on Monday afternoon and I really hope that I have a good weight loss. This list has been great to see other people's journeys! I've got a few questions for the nutrionist on Monday. Can we have Worcestershire sauce? I was looking at the bottle in my fridge and it says it has 0 calories and 0 carbs. It does have sodium though, but I don't remember the nutritionist saying anything about a sodium limit. I also have some steak rub seasoning that says 0 cal/0 carb, but I'm sure it has sodium in it.

Thanks!

MathSci...if you are drinking the amount of water they suggest, like over 100 oz or almost a gallon a day, the sodium isn't as big a deal. I never paid attention but did only use lite salt if I was say, salting a hard boiled egg. When I asked the sodium question at my clinic they told me to focus on drinking all my water (I did/do) and just be moderate with the salt. As far as I can tell over the past 6 months it hasn't been a problem. Good thing I LOVE water!

Thanks, MaraMom! I asked when I went in today and she said that it should be fine, especially since my sodium levels were on the low side. I lost 13.3 pounds! Can't believe that! I know it is mostly water weight, but it definitely gives me some extra motivation to stick to it. I'm so excited to have some more food choices this week!

I'm so glad that I found this forum. It has really helped in making my final decission to stat the Medi Weight Loss Program. I moved to Florida last April and have lost only 15lbs. I've had to deal with my weight my whole life and have tried (I feel) every diet in the book. I would just like to get a "Florida" body, Not a beach body but a body I can feel comfortable in the hot weather. I have my first consultation today, I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

Hello everyone! My name is Janet. I had my consultation last Thursday and officially started yesterday. The most difficult part for me is figuring out what I can and cannot eat. I have never been one to drink a lot of water so that part is also challenging for me. I will have my first official weigh in on the 13th so I am hoping to see some results. Good luck to all of you!

Help!!

Does anyone know if I can have low fat mozzarella cheese in week one? Also, what is the best low fat chicken broth? I'm not a fan but am feeling pretty horrible today. I want to get some to see if it will make me feel better. I am literally at the point of giving up. I really feel like I am just starving myself. I am not sure I can do this. Guess I just love my food too much.
