Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I'm new to the site and new to Medi. I'm having my week 4 weight this Wednesday and I'm so excited! I've had a steady weekly weight loss of about 3-4 lbs a week for a total of 10.5 lb of FAT lost and 2 lb gain of LEAN muscle in 3 weeks. I couldn't be happier! I've struggled with weight since high school and now topped 232 lb after working nights as an RN for the past 5 years! I'm so happy I found Medi. IT WORKS! My family and coworkers are noticing the weight loss, which motivates me even more.

Welcome nurse Steph I too am an RN so I understand all the eating on the move and the foods of convenience. Its tough to change that. This week will be my 3rd weighin but im not too confident because my period is still here so i dont know that the scale is going to show any loss even though I have stuck to the diet like glue! I will be discouraged but trying to stay positive.

Hey there! I thought it was going to be very scary to change my eating habits, especially at work. We have a lot of food parties on night shift and of course it's not the healthiest of foods! I have felt a lot of pressure to get healthier especially because I work on a cardiac surgery unit and felt kiiiinda like a hypocrite telling patients about healthy eating and exercise when I wasn't doing the same. I begun a boycott of the elevator and walk 6 flights upstairs to my unit. It's not as scary as I thought it would be and it actually makes me feel good!
I was nervous last week on my period week and my weight loss was 3.5 lb instead of 4 lb for the week before. It didn't make a big difference for me. I was so excited to wear a pair of scrubs last week that I hadn't worn in MONTHS because they were sausage scrubs! lol. Not only did they fit, but they were super loose. Keep up the good work!! We can do it! |

I've got my first meeting today at 2:30 and am a little anxious. Here's a rundown:
I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I've personally struggled as an adult and have done many diets and workout programs with my husband for him to always be successful and me to never be. The last we did we worked out everyday, ate no more than 1500/cal a day of GOOD, balanced, food (together, morning lunch dinner). He lost 130 lbs and I lost 12 over the course of a year. And after being married 7 years finally decided to start a family... got pregnant in two weeks after stopping BCP and had him in January. Throughout the pregnancy I actually LOST weight (6 lbs for the 9 months, plus my son (who was 8 lbs a month early), and the extra) and after delivery by CSection was down another 40 to 320. I've been down to 260 in high school (unfortunately taking the phen-pfen craze) and have always hovered around 300/310. Four years of graduate school fulltime and fulltime highly stressful job put me up around 350. I just turned 31 and hovering around 350 on a 5'6" frame and until recently haven't had any problems. I've never had my weight limit my ability to do anything and have always "carried" it okay...if that makes any sense, but recently I just feel impeded....for the first time ever, really. I was diagnosed by a wonderful ob/endo 6 months after my son's birth with severe insulin resistance (like the worst he's seen in 26 years of a Harvard practice) and PCOS (a blonde PCOS) after LOSING 40 lbs by having him and having it all creep back up in a matter of 2 months (while breastfeeding and eating 1500 calories a day, mind you). Doctor who diagnosed PCOS put me on Glumetza 2,000/day and it hasn't fazed me (unfortunately). I'm really in no position to spend a lot of money on something like this and I'm by nature very cheap person... so spending the money has me in a tizzy. My MW is 20 minutes from where I live so it's going to take effort. I'm also not finished having children, so I'm worried I'm spending money on something that may be for no reason later (if I have another child and gain any back), but I'm to the point that I'm trying to do ANYTHING I can to kickstart my system. I'm doing my goals in 50 lb increments because if I say I'm going to lose 150 lbs it sounds SO far off. I need some support -- hoping this place will be it. I'm having second thoughts without even being there, yet... although, honestly, if it were free I'd go in a heartbeat, so I think it's the money holding me up. Hello team. I will keep you in my prayers maybe they will find something in the bloodwork that will explain the weight loss issues? I found out in Feb my thyroid shut down completely a Feb ideally should be between 1 and 2,mine was 284.! Also lots of meeications can cause you to gain and hold on to wait Paxil is a major culporate as well as any anti diabetic meds. I really hope this does it for you. Post and let us know the outcome of week 1!

Hi Everyone! My first post after first week on Medi. I lost 8 pounds and want to thank everyone who posted positive views for the program. The first week was tough, but I am starting to feel more energy now. You really do make a difference for the new people. Thanks again!

After the first two weeks, I started walking 30 min 2-3 times a week. By 4 weeks it was 45 min "brisk" (for me, lol) walking 4-5 times a week, but usually 5.
Two weeks ago at week 9? I started riding my bike to and from work 4 days a week, 30 min total time. So now, at week 12: Walking 45 min 4-5 times a week. Biking 30 min. ~4 times a week. Will add more strengthening down the road...maybe in a few weeks? I never get clear ideas from my clinic just a "focus on the diet/water and dont exercise too much...." I think they don't want gaining muscle too much to deter from the psychological motivation of rapid wt loss. But I'm guessing! Anyone else have better info? |

Ok so this week is only 2lbs this is when is start to get self destructive and start thinking this diet is a scam that only works for a short amount of time. I barely eat carbs at all much less 20gms. So i don't understand why i didn't lose another 5. This sucks!

Introduction
Hi all! This is my first week, 3rd day on Medi-weight loss. I gained weight after a workplace accident a couple of years ago. I have about a 100 lbs to lose.
I checked today, and am not quite in ketosis. I dealt with a background headache all day yesterday, but none today. I really don't feel hungry and am eating more because I know I should than any real desire. I checked the scale and am not sure I've lost anything. I have a question. Does drinking Propel slow down ketosis? It says there is less than 1 carb, and it has electrolytes. My center told me to drink 2 drinks with electrolytes per day as part of the hydration. Is it ok to drink more? I've easily exceeded the gal/day, but don't want to impede ketosis, and hope drinking Propel isn't causing it. Pam |

Also, exercise makes a bid difference for me, significant in comparison to non-exercise days (I would guess it's not only the calories burned while exercising but also the metabolic jump-start thereafter). Regardless, just keep on doing as you are, focus on following the plan and everything else will sort out itself. Chris |

Hi All - newbie from Texas
My appt. was Wednesday at the clinic but I start the program Friday.
I needed an extra day to get rid of an allergy headache and wrap my head around all the new details, plus go shopping ! I have areas in the fridge and pantry that are strictly mine and they needed straightening up. I'm looking forward to this... More later - I'm crashing.....216am here. |
