A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS:(
Well it just stinx! Last night I had a moment of weakness and ate a sleeve of ritz crackers and 4 laughing cow cheese spreads. So shoot me! I was starving. And wouldn't ya know this morning I gained 1.5 lbs. UHGGG! Just goes to show ya that cheating is not worth it. But what do you do when you have eatin all your cals for the day and serious hunger kicks in? I know...go to bed. But oh it was so satisfying. But NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels...right ya'll?? Not doing that again!

Try not to beat yourself up about it! We all have moments of weakness, but it sounds like you really don't want to travel down that road again!
I have been starving like that--usually late in the evening--and I did indeed just go to bed, because my favorite thing in the world to do is sit up after everyone else has gone to bed and eat great (unhealthy) food and watch TV! So, it's very difficult for me at night. A couple of times, I also would just get a slice of deli meat just to put something in my stomach and calm the hunger pains! I figured it may have put me over my caloric limit a little, but at least it was protein, not carbs. This is HARD WORK and you're doing great!!! Just hang in there!!!! |

Thanks Chocolatefan. I have been doing the protein snack too on occassion. But last night the cravings were a killer. But you are right! Not going down that road again. Thanks for the encouragement! I can always count on you guys!

For His Glory - Being perfect gets old fast, so dont beat yourself up! It could have been worse...If it makes you feel any better, I devoured pretty much an entire heart shaped box on chocolates on Valentines Day. They tasted great, then I felt lousy and decided not to do that again! Just start fresh and let it go. Make a plan for your next day and stick to it. You'll be right back on track. Good luck!

When I get hungry at night I either eat a few almonds (a few seems to do the trick with the hunger pangs) or I have a hot mug of 5 calorie chicken broth. It works!!!

FHG - While we are "spilling it" here... a couple of weeks ago I scraped a whole 3/4 cup of icing off of a lemon cake (didnt want the cake, just icing!) and ate every drop! Gained 2 pounds! Really was a bummer. Most days my willpower is good... but some days...Uuggghhh. I find that if I cant eat it... I don't buy it. No more chips or cookies in the house. Thank goodness all of the kids are in college and I can do that!
Blessings to ya! ~* Sherri |

The important thing is that you get right back on the plan and don't let it bring you down. It's interesting to hear that you can gain 1.5 to 2 pounds with one mistake though! I guess that will help keep us on track!

That's pretty scary how quickly the weight comes back from ONE mistake. We definitely have to be really aware of everything we eat when we get to maintenance.

It happens to the best of us. Just don't do it again.
![]() What I do is drink a large glass/bottle of water (or powerade zero), and then chew gum. Or if I don't have gum, I will brush my teeth and use listerine (nothing tastes good after mouthwash). When I drink a LOT of water all at once it fills my stomach up so much that I don't want to eat anything for awhile. And the chewing statisfies the "eating" side of things. |

The night times are the WORST for me since I am a huge dessert lover. Instead of cookies or ice cream like I normally would have eaten I had some fat free cool whip and 4 strawberries. It was sweet enough and ok to eat!
