My April goal is to get to 192, which is the lowest Weight I got to when I lost 70 lbs on my own 2 years before starting medi. I gained and lost after that but never got below 200
But now that i found medi and this site I feel more motivated than ever! I'm tired of being the big girl the "oh but you have such a pretty face" or "cute" I don't wanna be just cute! I wanna be .....sexy:blush: I don't wanna hide anymore I want to live! I want to be a yes woman and try new things even if they scare me. Okay wow that all just poured out, I guess I needed that! Thanks for listening. It's a new dawn it's a new day and I'm feeeeeelin' good! ![]() Peace Tiffany |

My goal for April is to get into the 120's. I'd really like to hit 125lb my goal, but my losses are slowing down. I am 5'2 and the NP told me it's going to be a slow process to loose the final 10lbs. So I am trying to remind myself of that. It will happen, and I know that.

Gosh I can't believe that my goal is probably the SAME goal I had for March
Oh well Keri I had just been thinking of you, and hoped you were just busy! DH and I were both amazed at our strength, and stamina when we helped DS move a few weeks ago! It's such a great feeling. DS was doing the same thing you are.....moving things to the new house daily. Once they got the obvious stuff moved and put away (closets, kitchen, bathroom) it became a real chore, so that was when we went up, rented a truck, and just moved the heavy stuff, and the rest of the "odd" stuff. They filled the garage at the old house with garage sale items, and anything that didn't sell on sale day, went to Goodwill the next Monday. DH had given our old bikes to a neighbor a few years back. His bike was a REALLY good one, and he was able to get it back and start riding it after replacing the old inner tubes. Mine was just a cheapie beach cruiser type, and has long ago "died" so now we're shopping for a new one for me.

My goal for April is to get below 150, which would mean about 8 pounds. I hope to lose more but I am being very optimistic. I have to have surgery done over Spring Break.
I have to stop the AS about a week before and will be limited on activities for a few days after so it will be a tough one. |

Hi All - my goal for the month is to stay on program. Every day. I am on a restart (past two weeks) and I am still going through the 'I can't believe I let myself gain it back' talk in my head. I was going to start back a few months ago but couldn't get it going.
Posting is part of my commitment - so here we go! |

April showers in RVA- home of VCU
Really enjoying reading everyone's goals. I would really love to see 180lbs on the scale by April 30, but I know that may not be totally realistic. I would like my totally attainable goal to be, GO TO THE GYM at least 2 times per week. To some this may seem too little, but I'm finding for myself when I set smaller, reachable goals, I am far more successful are attaining long term ones.
The red Jacket pic is from New Year's Ever 12/31/10. This is the picture that made me realize my weight had gotten out of control. 2nd Pic is from last night. I have to be honest I can see some change, but not nearly what other people say. What do you girls think?

You look great Rachel! Can really see the change already!! Nice job!!
My goal this month is to get over this ridiculous cold/sinus thing I have going on right now and get back to super strict. Have to say I've been eating a lot of chicken soup . My carbs aren't out of control but I'm sure they aren't where they should be. Hope to get strict again when I'm better.Talk to me ladies, how do you work this when you're super sick?!?! Congrats you guys, keep the inspiration coming!! ![]() |

My goal for April is to get to 150 pounds. I am not sure if that's attainable or not...it would be about 2.5 pounds per week....but I'm going to give it everything I've got! Once I get to 150, I think the running will come MUCH easier. I can already feel how much easier it's getting just over the past couple of weeks. I had forgotten how much I love the feeling of running, and especially the feeling of accomplishment afterwards. I truly can't wait until I'm back to running races with my hubby.
I'm going to admit something about myself now. While I am a full-time teacher, I have a side job with Dove Chocolate Discoveries -- we do home chocolate tasting parties!(think Mary Kay or Tupperware, but a lot more fun!) It's not the Dove products you see in the stores -- it's an exclusive line and oh my gosh, is it good. But, surprisingly, I haven't had any trouble with running that business and staying on Medi. When it's in front of me, I just tune it out. I'm not willing to give up that business, as I absolutely love it and it is a huge help financially, so I'm really glad that I am not tempted by the chocolate. It was a big concern of mine. If I'm craving anything, it's Reeses Pieces and popcorn. Not together. LOL. But, those were my 2 weaknesses before Medi so not surprising that I think of them and crave them. Happy April everyone! |

Girls thanks for the reassurance! I guess I just thought that after losing 32lbs, I would have gone down more than 1 pants size; HOWEVER, now that I think about that I realize that I was squeezing into the 18. So really I should have been in a 20 probably, so now I'm in a 16. Come on 14!! I find it comical that I have 18, 16, 14, 12 size pants in 1 house, in 1 bedroom

Thanks for starting the thread for April, Rachel. My goal for April is to NOT gain anything because I'm in the last 3 most intense weeks of grad school....yikes! Then I'm finally off for a break and will have the summer off....THEN I can focus on weight loss and exercise again. Between now and the end of April I just want to not gain anything else. It's not been easy. I can do good things though like drinking my water, limiting eating after 8pm, eating a piece of fruit instead of unhealthy choices....and ideally eating on plan several times a week, if not yet daily. I'll totally be back on plan by early May since I need to be back at goal to fit into my Mother of the Bride dress for August (which I bought 15 lbs ago in December!) Also, hope to be taking up jogging again soon, at least biking a couple times a week.

Barbwired Thanks so much! I was feeling so confident yesterday that I went on a mini shopping spree, did not buy any CLOTHES, because I plan to really reward myself when I hit goal. But I did buy clinique facial cleansing system, Flat Iron, Perfume, Perfume, and more Perfume, and a few make-up items. Let's just say TJMAXX had some ridiculously great items yesterday!
It's really turning into a beautiful weekend here in RVA. I was so happy to wake-up to the sunshine gleaming through my blinds. I really hope this will be an indicator of the week to come. I'm hoping to have an interview this week, for a job that would really make my life a bit more "normal" ![]() Deb I understand your pain. Although, I haven't persued a Master's degree just yet. I know how diffiuclt it is to wear all of those hats at one time. A large part of my weight getting so out of control was the stress from being a FT RN student, a FT hospital dialysis LPN, a FT wife, a FT sole bread winner, etc.. Something always has to give in that situation, and for me it was my focus on "ME". I hope that your life gets less chaotic ASAP. You have accomplished so much, keep in mind that the better your eating habits, the better you will be able to deal with all of those stressors. Mary I'm so jealous everytime I read about your warm weather, and now a beach crusing bike!?!?! Sounds like you live in a wonderful place. I can't think of a better motivator to get in shape, than to throw a pair of shorts on and cruise the beach ![]() I think we can all accomplish our April goals, by staying on plan, reading these message boards daily, PARTICIPATING in the message boards, and being innovative in our food and exercise choices. Don't be afraid to try new things. I'm getting to the point now that I'm not craving those carb ridden foods now, yesterday I was seriously wanting some TUNA salad after my work out! HaHa never had a craving for tuna salad before ![]() Last edited by Swirveegrl; 04-03-2011 at 06:36 AM.. |

QUOTE]I WISH it was as idyllic as I must have made it sound.....as far as a "beach cruiser" goes, it's JUST a name for a 1 speed bike with a coaster brake, fat tires, and a BIG seat! AND I don't have one yet....still shopping around for one. North of here at Daytona Beach the sand IS hard enough to ride/drive on it, but here the sand is far too soft for that. We DO walk on the beach some......right now with the weather being perfect we still have a lot of "snowbirds" crowding the beaches. Walking in the sand is supposed to be good for calf muscles. SOON it will be hot, hot, hot driving many people either inside, or to the beach. We'll have to start our daily exercise MUCH earlier BTW I can really see the change in your pictures! WTG!![]() |

I am feeling very down...like this isn't working for me and I want it to because I know I CAN do this. I feel like I work so hard and am not seeing the results that I should..and admittedly jealous seeing everyone's fabulous weight loss on here (congratulations!- this is sincere I can put aside my own poopy feelings and feel happy for others) BUT I WANT MY OWN WEIGHT LOSS!
I have been on this thing for 5-6 weeks, I did week 1 twice at the start because I thought I did it wrong and all I have to show is about 12lbs. I think I have to be strict- I mean really strict..no frankenfoods. I can't figure this out. On week two is it still 500 calories of protein and then just 2 cups salad/veggie (or 1 cup fruit/1 cup veg)? Do I have this right? I might just have to bite the bullet and go to the clinic in CT on the weekends (this is the closet one - and luckily my BF lives in CT and it's 45min from his house) HELp HELP...I am asking for some help! My goal for April is to get better after foot surgery, start exercising again, at least at a moderate level, lose those 15 lb I have gained during recovery from surgery. I want to be 140 lb again (my original goal weight). I want to get back to how I felt back then: liking seeing myself in the mirrow, waking up every day in good mood and not worrying how my pants will fit me today, loving my clothes fit me comfortably loose (not like now, that they are very snug
), wanting to exercise, be in total control of my eating (not a single "binge" day).

Kristine, you wrote: "On week two is it still 500 calories of protein and then just 2 cups salad/veggie (or 1 cup fruit/1 cup veg)? Do I have this right?" Yes, this is true of week 2 through the time you make goal.

Are you Journaling? You have to journal, every single thing that you eat. You need to keep your carbs at less than 40 daily, or 30 or less if you are not in ketosis. You need to consume a minimum of 500 protein calories- maximum of 700. I have a link on my profile to my food journal. I am not perfect, but maybe this will give you an idea of where you are making mistakes. NO MORE THAN 3 dairy servings daily. I usually keep mine @ 2. You have to drink your electrolyte beverage a minimum of 16oz, I usually have 32oz powerade zero. You must drink as much water as possible (a minimum of 64oz), not diet, not sugar free, but water. If you drink diet, and sugar free A LOT, people find that these things make them crave sweets and also some have carbs in them.
Initally, I thought that frankenfoods would help me deal with my sweet tooth, and bread cravings; but, I honestly find them too time consuming. I made oopsie rolls once had 1 or 2, and decided I can live without bread. I am not craving any of the junk I used to eat. Every now and again I have a CRAVING for chocolate, so I have ONE square of Lindt 88% cocoa. I think keeping it simple, staying hydrated, and moving is what works for me. I keep a power crunch bar (10 total carbs), or an oh yea bar (8 total carbs) with me in case of hunger emergencies. Best of luck! I know it's hard, but the more you do it, and do it right, the easier it will get. I don't know if you have any medical conditions, but if you are following this program EXACTLY to the letter, you will lose. Unless, you have a medical condition that could be contributing to your slow loss. |

My April goaL is to stay motivated and to do my best. I am still a little scared to have a number goal. I am afraid that if I dont reach it that I will feel like I have failed and may become discouraged. Still a newbie and trying to change my train of thought. So personally, have a fear of failing when it comes to losing wight. My first goal is obviously overcoming all that baggage and to just stay in the game and not be so focussed on the number. To stay focussed on the finish line. Pray for me you guys. I really need it. Anyway.. Good Luck everyone in April, Will be cheering us all on!!!![]() |

Irina your stats have served as a major motivator for me to keep on with MEDI. You will get that 15lbs off. You have come so far, those few lbs are just a little bump in the road for you. Maybe going back to week 1, would help jump start your weight loss again?
I hope you are doing well with your post surgery recovery. You can do this. |

My clinic has me on a 1200 calorie plan. Is this what you guys are on, or does it vary by how much weight you have to lose? Also, since I started taking the fat burner, appetite suppressant and water pill, I perspire alot. My DH thinks it is my body burning the fat. It's not the same as my hot flashes, so I know it's not that. I am struggling at work with food, so my goal is to start packing my lunch and dinner. I eat both at work since my hurs are 11am-7pm. I hope everyone is having a beautiful week-end!!

me getting better isn't a weightloss goal, so I guess my goal would be to drop 15 lbs or so and workout more.
