A Quick Question about Electrolytes

Hi Everyone!

A Medi Weightloss newbie here- I just started on Tuesday :-).

A quick question about the electrolyte requirement. In my week 1 information packet it says to include 16 oz of a no calorie electrolyte solution in my daily water intake. My question: can we drink MORE than the 16 or are we required to stick to exactly 16 oz. Although water is great (yawn), I'd be a lot happier if I could satisfy my fluid needs with more than 16 oz of Powerade Zero.

Thanks in advance!

Courtney

Sure you can increase that amount......and may want to especially as you start exercising more in hotter weather. Just be sure to watch the amount of sodium you're getting. Have you tried Crystal Light, (I Love the peach tea flavor)? Talk with your center about other no cal/carb drinks (Diet soda etc)

You can also go the other way - I didn't want the artificial stuff in the electrolyte drinks, so I stuck with water and took a daily potassium supplement.
