Keri - You look Ahh-mazing!! Isn't it great starting 1-1-11 without being so far over your goal weight?! What a great gift to yourself and to your daughters!

Suzanna - It's good to hear from you too! How are you?

Erin - I've missed you! Good to hear from you again, girlfriend. I've been taking Christmas treats leftover from my daughters visiting to work...pecan pie, Reese's cake, other goodies....I just cannot have that stuff here at home, and I'll share the calories with my coworkers! Ha! Congratulations on your goal to get out of debt. Suggestions would be to eat tuna in salads, stick a whole chicken in a crockpot and cook, debone, and divide into measured amounts for your meals, go to Sam's/Price Club/Cosco and buy in bulk (including their fresh veggies), and buy those precooked roast beef stews on sale. Good luck!

LosininFtm - You and me...we'll get this off and be back at goal. We know the tools to make us successful!

I haven't been running, jogging, or even walking in over a month since it got colder outside. Since delicious meal by DD and her friend hosting Thanksgiving for us, cold weather making me want to insulate with a little body fat, both DD coming for Christmas, looking at and buying wedding dress for oldest DD, and starting a new additional job in the past 1 1/2 weeks....I've gained about 9 lbs! Youch! Thankfully I'm off the next three days and plan to unwrap the Wii Biggest Loser DVD I have and also do the Just Dance DVD! Also planning to go to Zumba extravaganza on Saturday for 1/1/11 and start the new year exercising!! As "Fit2010," I don't want this year to end with me tomorrow being out of control in my "choices." So, tomorrow will be much better and a preview of a great new year. (This is supposed to be a New Year's hat, not a birthday hat!)

Keri, you are SO beautiful! Your girls have really grown too! I'm so envious of your hard work and the great rewards! My loss has slowed, but I'm still hanging in there and fully expect to lose my last 25 pounds!.......AND keep it off

Erin, I think any time you cook at home from REAL food (not processed, or prepackaged) you'll save money. DH lost his job in June, so we are VERY aware of what we spend money on. Kelly has given us a really yummy recipe (I don't know if she has posted it on the recipe boards yet) You can find it in the food in, and exercise out thread (whatever the thread's actually called) It uses turkey Italian Sausage, and chicken. I buy most of my meat at WinnDixie when they have a Buy One Get One Free. I plan my meals around that. I use my slow cooker, or my pressure cooker a ton. Like Debbie said cook a whole chicken then divide it up for several meals. I bought boneless, skinless chicken breasts yesterday. I made the chicken, and turkey Italian sausage (which I got for 1/2 price) dish tonight. I'll use the other package of chicken breasts for chicken leek soup. We always have food left over, so we have lunch for the next day or two, already made. I use some of my pre-medi recipes and they fit tine.....I just don't do all the carb-y sides I used to make. I sometimes make a low carb pre-medi chicken dish using FROZEN chicken breasts in the slow cooker. It's great to do on a day you're running late. You don't have to thaw, or brown anything. Since DH and I are still in the acute phase, I have left out the black beans the original recipe called for, but since you're in maintenence, you probably could do it as written. Put the frozen chicken breasts (3 or 4) in the slow cooker and top with a small jar of your favorite salsa........that's where I stop now, but you could add 1-2 cans of black beans (drained if you want, all though I never did) DO NOT add salt or pepper, just put the lid on and cook all day! When you're home and ready to eat, the chicken will just fall apart.....top with FF sour cream, and LF cheese if you want!

I make wonderful pot roast with rutabagas instead of potatoes or carrots. I do add onion while cooking (I use my pressure cooker for a fork tender roast) You could use your slow cooker for this too!

Chili (without beans while in acute) is also a great meal, and VERY quick and easy......I BOIL the VERY low fat hamburger I use for a finer crumble of the meat.

On maintenance you could make sausage, pumpkin soup with a few modifications (like using FF 1/2 and 1/2) instead of the cream! It's probably the BEST soup I've ever fixed! It sounds funny but trust me you'll love it!

Crustless quesadillas are always a hit for lunch! It's a great way to use up leftover meat. I use chicken then add 1 Laughing Cow Blue Cheese wedge and hot wing sauce to it. OR a little Low Carb Bar-B-Q sauce to leftover pork.

I had to quit buying Almonds in the big container at Sam's for a while. Right now I endulge my sweet tooth with Chai tea (made with vanilla, unsweetened, almond milk, and lots of splenda) or with Walmart's premade gelatin (like Jello but their own brand.....it comes in a flat cardboard package, near the Jello in the refrigerator section) topped with LITE Cool Whip, and a tiny bit of SF Hersheys chocolate sauce.....I used to add 3-4 almonds, but then I started having a little jello with my almonds, so that had to go! LOL

I could go on and on.....and guess I just did! let me know if you need more details or more ideas.....I'm happy to help

Mary - Thanks for ALL the recipes/fixin's! I think this would be a great way to start the New Year, trying something NEW in acute, rather than sticking with our own personal same-o, same-o and getting tired of it! So yes, please go on and on and give us even more ideas!! Would like to hear more about the proportions, etc of you sausage-pumpkin soup too. Sounds like a good winter soup!

When I was in acute in the past, I'd even buy a turkey just for myself to cut up and divide into meal portions. Then I found that our larger Dillons (Kroger for most of you), will cut a turkey breast for you if you call early enough in the AM and they can put it in....then you pick it up a couple hours later.

I'll run the recipe through a recipe calculator then post. I originally got the recipe from the general low carb recipe board here at LCF. It will need tweeking for the acute phase (or may not even work in acute) but should need less tweeking for maintenance.

DH found smoked turkey legs in the deli at Walmart just prior to Christmas......OMG was that good! He also found them at the Walmart in Jacksonville, but it wasn't as good there.....

Happy New Year to all! It will be a nice low-key evening here, no plans (other than putting the girls to bed, PJ's on and watching a movie with DH....I may even splurge and have a glass of wine!). The weather warmed up quite a bit today and melted some snow - I am very excited to walk outside tomorrow rather than on the treadmill!

Best wishes to everyone for continued success in this new year!

Happy New Year!!!!

to all our new MWL friends!!! Please read all posts and post all issues and questions. We are here to HELP you

Just wanted to say that all of you are are a source of inspiration to each other. You're accomplishments are our accomplishments

We've all achieved some difficult goals and have gone through many hardships this year Some harder than others and yet, y'all still persevere and continue to work hard to regain your health (and, in some cases, your sanity )

Even those of us who have achieved our goals still struggle with issues. Maintaining weightloss is difficult at times...I've slid back a bit but have plans to go back to the MWL WOE. I've regained 10 more pounds than I wanted to..
I'll use my excuses of back issues (mean nasty back pain that makes it difficult to exercise at this time) BUT I AM GOING BACK ON PLAN!!!!!!

I will post this success as I achieve it...I'm up around 155lbs...on my short frame, it's not attractive (except in the bust area )

I also lost a pet this year ... my outdoor cat that's been around for a few years disappeared about a month ago. I do mourn him even though he wasn't really a chosen member of my cat family. He had started to trust us more and I might have been able to catch him and get his shots etc to make him more healthy. My fear is that he's been gotten by coyotes...we have them here as well. I'm rather glad I haven't found any "evidence". I'd rather think that he went off and died rather than that awful end

Now that I've probably upset everyone...I just wanted to say "Thank you" to all who post here....those who have been here since I started and those who are new. You all are a blessing to me....you're strength and support of everyone makes me proud to be a part of this group!!!!

God Bless.....

Happy New Year! We are all dressed up (me in my thrift store dress, and clearance rack jacket) I'm wearing heals for the first time in several years. and we're meeting friends for dinner. I have already looked at the menu on line, and picked out my dinner......which will probably be an appetizer, along with a salad.

Remeber do NOT eat lobster or chicken tomorrow......it brings BAD luck! I will eat some of the collard greens I'm making and maybe even a taste of the black eyed peas......just for luck!

Cindy - Thank you for your honesty and for sharing your real feelings, including lack of exercise and pain with the loss of your outdoor kitty. I agree...we are here for EACH OTHER and I understand those feelings. But, we keep coming back to where we know there is hope and accountability...where the MediWeightLoss plan and encouragement of others going through the plan too helped keep us on track!

I have an idea. I think starting tomorrow I'll weigh myself and in my signature write my weight transition til I get back to goal weight.

Would anyone else in maintenance or near goal like to join me?!? Ex: 155 154 153 152 150 149 148 147 146 145 144 143 142 141 140 139 138 137136 135
