Paulyesthers - I don't see any of your old profile pics, though I know that the one currently posted is new! Look at those cheek bones and eyes! You have a good point about the new year....I started LCF a few days after Christmas last year. What a relief to know I'm not where I was THEN! However, I've named myself Fit2010 and considering that I had previously ran 5K's and now sloughed off outdoor exercise due to the cold, I'm no longer FEELING Fit. So, there's my New Year's goal. (I know that one of the gifts under the tree is a Wii Fit....gotta get up and move and have some fun during the time!) Has anyone else tried the Wii games? Like Wii Sports, etc?

I used the Wii when I first started to ease myself into fitness but I haven't used it for awhile. However I did ask Santa for the Wii Zumba for Christmas to tide me over when life causes me to miss my classes. I'll report back on it after Christmas.

I enjoy the Wii. My son and I have a lot of fun competing on Active Life Outdoor Challenge.

We are in the process of cutting all non-essential expenses, so Medi had to go for now. I'm glad that it is now after losing 50 pounds rather than months ago. I am going to wean off the AS. If I am struggling without it, I'll talk to my doctor. I'm sad, but I know that I've been given great tools.

I've been MIA this week since I've been struggling with a nasty cold. Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm concern I haven't lost anything but not because of over eating. I've hard eaten or drank anything this week. And while catching up on some of the post, it just hit me that I've been missing out on taking the 2nd shoot. Heck it's free and even though some people say they see a difference and other don't, it doesn't hurt to try it right

Cross my fingers tomorrow goes well and that I'm feeling a lot better!

Thank you everybody for posting about Wii and what you like! It will be fun, I know!

Merry Christmas to all my Medi friends on LCF! Blessings to all of you and your families this awesome time of year when we remember how MUCH we are loved by our Lord!

My oldest DD and fiance came in last pm and we went to the bridal shop after eating dinner here. She said she'd tried on about 40 dresses in 3 shops previously and found this one in a catalog. Tried it on and said THIS is the one! I was brought to tears once she put the little bird cage veil on...my little girl a bride! Well, she's 26, not so little...but still! So we still had lots of time in the appt and both DD's talked me into trying on a mom of the bride dress...they loved the first one I tried on and it's great to know that they both were there to help! I want to keep the dress from DH sight (though he knows I bought one)....I think it will be great to surprise him that day with how we both look! Wow, this is really gonna happen....and now I've got to really keep faithful with my lower carbs so I continue to fit in it this well

Congrats Deb! Hopefully I'll be doing that same thing soon! We are in Jacksonville with both of our kids and families (DD and her SO, and DS, wife and kids) It was Ry's first Christmas. He liked trying to eat the paper more than any toys! I got a couple of gift certificates to use for new SKINNY (er) clothes! DH also got me smaller panties, bras, and PJs

I'm happy to report DH and I have walked 4.5 miles daily (inclucing today) since we've been here. So maybe it will counteract SOME of the higher calories we've enjoyed! DD has a very active dog that we've taken with us and he really liked the exercise! The weather has been pretty good, but a front is supposed to move in tonight, so tomorrow is supposed to get cold. We'll go home tomorrow and get back to our Medi WOE

I hope you all had a wonderful blessed Christmas and a GREAT 2011

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I went to the movies tonight with my son and when I went up to the consession stand only bought goodies for my son. But my mouth was dry and I wanted something sweet. I made a second trip to the stand and bought a box of plain M&M and went back to watch the movie. Seeing that I had not open the box, my son asked if he could open it and have some. I'm pleased to say that he eat them all and I didn't have anything at all! Today was a great day!!!

DH new favorite thing now seems to be playing Wii golf....and he doesn't play golf in real life! We all had a blast today with the Dance game from Wii...hilarious and quite a workout! Canoeing and bicycling were also interesting and fun! We laughed and laughed! DD returns to grad school tomorrow morning. Other DD and her fiance travel tomorrow on their 2 day trip back to the northeast. What a blessing to have the laughter of my family around....I wish I could bottle it up!!! It makes me smile! DD#1 is talking about giving us grandchildren in about 4 years. Ahhh!!! Well, it's been a wonderful Christmas! Hope that you and yours also had a rich and wonderful celebration and many wonderful memories. Hugs to all my LCF family!

Just dropping in to wish everyone happy holidays!

It was a wonderful feeling to weigh in under goal this morning. I made it through the holiday season without feelings of guilt for overdoing it or feeling like I missed out. I have indulged a small amount on the food that I really, really wanted, but left behind the foods that were just okay.

It will be so nice to start 2011 without the weight loss resolution... the first time in memory!

DeterminedGemini - hope you feel better!

Fit2010 - Congrats on your daughter! Keep up the good work, it'll feel good to look good on the big day!

Well, today I weighed in - first weigh in of month 3! I was a little disappointed I didn't have a weight change - trapping me once again in the 170's - but I did have another muscle gain - 3 lbs. I would normally have felt worse about the weigh-in, but this weekend when I went to wear a pair of jeans - they were so big they weren't even comfortable. I have a small stack of 3-4 pairs of pants I've been holding on to. I searched for my size 12 I thought I had, but couldn't find them. The next size I had was a 10 - tried them on expecting them to not pull up - AND THEY FIT!!! Granted, they are a little more snug than I prefer, but they fit! I could't believe it! I guess I just need to think about that photo showing a pound of muscle vs a pound of fat! I should be happy - 3 lbs of muscle in one week seems pretty good - I think.

Grand total of 17lbs in the first month! I really wanted 20 lbs, butttttt 17lbs is a lot more than I would usually lose in a month!

Congratulations to everyone's successes this month, and have a wonderful New Year!!!

Oh, so on Christmas I decided to cheat (totally not worth it all those carby food don't taste good anymore!), so I'm doing week 1 again for this week. Are the medi protein shakes (the whey powders with soy milk) and the medi weight loss bars such as the pecan one allowed for week 1? Thanks

Back home, and back to week 1....what a relief! I did enjoy the fun of the holidays, and I even enjoyed the daily long walks.....it sure is different walking on smooth, paved, sidewalks. I'm used to walking on the side of a road....out 2.5 miles and back 2.5 miles! While at DD's we walked close to 5 miles all around her neighborhood. It was fun seeing all the decorations. It sure didn't get boring!

I noticed that eating more carbs caused me to have a lot more intestional gas! Plus I think I got a headache when I ate real sugar......at least that's what I'm telling myself caused the headache! Now that I'm home drinking plain water seems to be a little easier........I'm thirsty!

I'm so looking forward to a bright new shiny year.........DH and I are the healthiest we've been in a VERY long time!

I am back to week 1 as well.. I noticed when i ate sweets over the holiday, I did have a stomach ache as well and some serious water retention!
I have a date in sight to really lose by.. Feb 22- my birthday! it is good to have a date in mind, it helps me to stick to plan better. Glad to be back to my protein.. i know i will feel better asap!

I did as well as I could during the holidays....that being said....I had two days of weakness :-( However, rather than being discouraged and just dumping at all together, I got back on the wagon :-)

My question is do I go back to week one? And if so, is that for an entire week or just a few days?

Question - are the guys on the same caloric intake as the ladies? I'm trying to get my brother to join, but he's just not digging the idea of 500 calories. Any suggestions to help me out? I just need to convince him to go in and he'll be hooked!

christmas - you haven't been on the program that long....you said you had 2 days of weakness. Are you in ketosis now? If not, then I would think your clinic would recommend that you go back to week one for at least 4 to 5 days until you are good and in ketosis. Ketosis not only shows you are burning fat, but it also makes you less hungry.

Good decision Mary and Ashley. I too will be going back to week one in a few days after I finish a few days of work and can plan and shop for it. So pleased that I'm starting this next New Year in a MUCH healthier weight compared the previous about 17 New Years!

Watching my Mizzou Tigers in their bowl game.....let's go team!

FIT 2010.....Thanks for that advice :-) I started week one over....sort of stinky on my part....I will remember this next time I am "tempted" :-) It is not really worth it...

Not in ketosis now....

Do you like your WII? There is a WII Zumba Fitness out....I have been reading up on the reviews...sort of mixed...some like it/others not so much. I might get it anyway :-)

Happy New Year to everyone! It has been about a month since I posted and there are so many new names, so glad that Medi is working for so many people. I began transition this week, with a 93 lb loss, and it's a bit overwhelming! Hopefully now that the holidays are over I can get back to being on this board as I have been in the past, I truly believe it was such an important part of the success I had these past 8 months!

I received the Wii Zumba for Christmas ans have used it twice now. Overall it was good, since I have been doing the classes for almost 5 months I went straight to intermediate and next will move to advance level. It did what it was suppose to. I was definitley moving and sweating I just miss the interaction and vibe of the classes. I personally find the classes much more intense than any dvd or game. But it is serving the purpose of giving me something to fill in with when so many classes are cancelled due to the holidays and cold weather.
Gained almost 12 lbs over the holidays but after 4 days of week 1 I am already down 5lbs. Then I WILL get a handle on this wellness program.

Good morning everyone! I've been MIA like everyone else because of the typical holiday stuff. Getting back on track. I'm up 2 pounds. Was up 3 but after a day of cleaner eating and increased fluids, I'm down 1 lb. Trying not to beat myself up for undoing a lot of what I worked so hard to do. My cravings are crazy right now. My house is full of temptations. We are trying very hard to get out of debt this year so I need to get creative on eating healthy while saving money. The low carb snacky things get expensive! Any ideas?

Hello everyone! I had my post holiday WI yesterday and I'm down 3.3. How I lost over the holiday is beyond me. I have been doing well on the exercise front so I think that is how. I wasn't medi-perfect over the holiday but tried to eat in moderation and was good about not beating myself up for not being perfect. I have completely cut out protein bars. I can't eat the Medi ones because of my gluten allergy and all of the others seem to trigger me into an eating frenzie so they are out of my house. I know I really need to go back to week 1 and get in ketosis I just keep avoiding it.
I also wore a pair size 10 dress pants for Christmas. The best gift ever! Bought them about 4 years ago when I had lost weight expecting to lose more and have them fit then I kept gaining. I am in grad school to be an NP. I start my next clinical rotation next week at a site I was at this summer 30+ lbs heavier. I can't wait for their reaction!

WOW it's SO cool to see so many people who were "missing" back here again! I LOVE it!

I'm hoping to get the WII Zumba or Just Dance soon. I think either will be a nice change from my walking. DH got a pair of "fitness" shoes......sort of like the walk fit shoes I have, I told him walking on our country road with them is much harder than it was walking on a nice sidewalk in Jacksonville......he thought it was all in my head, but wore them yesterday and found out I actually KNEW what I was talking about!

By my scale I gained back 3 pounds, but I know I wasn't drinking enough water. I haven't weighed since I've gone back to week 1.....including 120+ oz of water! I'm sure all of that weight will be gone by next week!

Good morning everyone! Just ate breakfast - yogurt with a 1/2 banana....I can't figure out if I'm more scared of adding in fruit or the starches! I went to Whole Foods yesterday (with DH and the 2 girls!) and felt like I was in there forever reading labels on things and still only put a little bit (even though I spent $100). Those in transition/wellness....do you buy "specialty" (like from whole foods, ordered online, etc) foods that are low-carb or do you just try to eat in moderation the low-cal/low-fat/low-carb stuff found everywhere?
