HI! I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a brand-newbie
I had my first appointment at my clinic yesterday. First official day today. I know quite a few people who have done this and had success (and I know a few who say "you'll gain it all back when you stop!" But to those people I always have the SAME response..."WHY?!. WHY would I gain it back? Just because I'm not taking the shots anymore??? I'll only gain it all back if I revert to my old 'eat anything anytime" lifestyle! If I pay attention to what I eat and exercise, I shouldn't gain it back". My PLAN is once I get to GOAL, I want to get rid of ALL clothes that are too big at that point. Then if clothes start to feel "tight" i know I have to do something...
I have moved the scale from the master bathroom to the other side of the house. The ONLY time I will weigh in is at the clinic!
Not only am I keeping my "medi" journal, but I bought myself and nice pretty leather bound journal for me to write all of my feelings in. I'm writing in it 2 to 3 times a day...with date and time...detailing how I feel (energy levels, etc). I met some wonderful people at the clinic who have done the program. One guy started 1 year ago today at 420+ pounds and is now in the 210's. IN ONE YEAR! I only have between 100 - 130 to loose. I will keep everyone posted on my progress and look forward to everyones support!

Starting weight is 275 (at the clinic).

Welcome to the group! Please come over to our Newbie thread noted below for a lot of good tips and helps for the first few weeks of the program:

Welcome Newbies! Helpful info for week 1.

And also come over to our monthly thread for support and encouragement.

*.*Nuttily Nutricious November for MWL*.*

And peruse the various threads and try the search feature too. Many questions have been asked and answered in the last couple of years. Most of us do not have a ton of time to read every thread every day, but we manage to get to the Newbie thread and the monthly thread pretty often.

Also, add in your statistics, and location, and we can celebrate your successes with you!

And again, welcome to the group. This plan IS the one that works.

*.*Do or do not, there is no try*.*

I am new to the program too - in fact, we started the same day! I am finding this board to be incredibly helpful and everyone seems so supportive.

Best of luck in your journey! I really believe that this is the right program for me to reach my goal.

SkinnyMonkey and subee3 congrats on taking the step to join MWL! The first week will probably seem like the hardest, but the rewards will be well, well worth it. I find that journaling helps both in accountability and for spotting patterns that might help you control your eating habits.

I joined almost 2 months ago and here I am now, 25 pounds and SEVERAL inches down! I will say that with MWL I seem to be losing more fat and holding on to (or even gaining) muscle like never before. Previously at this weight I'd barely fit into size 12's. Now a couple of pairs of size 12 pants are loose, which is unbelievable to me! I don't care what the scale says, it's the size that matters in the long run, but I still find it shocking how I can lose down to this weight and fit into things that I only fit into at much lower weights before. This is a GREAT plan for losing just the fat and keeping that muscle!

Good luck!
