I donated six bags of clothing today. Everything size 16 and above is gone. I feel as though a weight has been lifted. I am excited that I will be carrying lighter suitcases from now on, that stuff was heavy!!!

Congratulations Kelly!!
You are doing FABULOUSLY! BTW: you'll just have more fun buying more clothes and have more options! (So maybe the suitcases will still be as heavy?!) ![]() |

Debbie is right.....with more choices that you actually LIKE, you just might buy more! I have many more pairs of jeans that fit than I've ever had before. For most of my adult life I would have maybe 1 or 2 pairs of jeans at a time and I wore them until they fell apart. Right now I'm shopping at Goodwill, (AND my sister in law gave me several things that are too big for her) so I don't have to wear the same thing over and over! I DO have to try things on at Goodwill, because many of the things I picked out the other day were TOO big! I did get 2 really nice casual tops for a total of $4.12.

Has anyone found they have lost more weight eating more calories? I have been sticking to around 500 calories and have been losing weight. I ate around 700 the past couple of days and have double my daily weight loss?

I find that varying my caloric intake helps with the weight loss, which is partly what you're seeing I think. They have me at 800-900 calories per day. Some days I eat only 500. Other days I eat 700, and on days when I exercise I might eat up to 1200. Over the course of 7 days, if I stay between 5,600-6,300 calories, but definitely mix it up I see better results.

I think it's because when I came in they asked me how much I worked out a week and I told them I was training for a half marathon and I'd just finished training for a century ride. I often tell people that I don't lace up my tennis shoes (or strap on a bike helmet) for anything shorter than a 2-3 hour training session, so maybe that's it... I was worried about the higher calories the first few weeks, but like you said I'm losing okay. Right now my weight loss has stalled, but that's because I went to a party this past weekend and my weak willpower won out. Not ONLY did I drink wine, and too much of it, but that lowered my inhibitions and I had cookies. COOKIES!!! I am an idiot. Back to week 1 this week, and a big ol' smack on the head to me for being so stupid. |

Just went for my third weigh in. I'm down 8 lbs fat since last Monday! Now, as I've stated on here that I've felt bloated - well, last week I was up 3 1/2 lbs on water and this week another 5 lbs of water. I'm drinking more than enough water - and they clinic just says with time this will level out and I'll get the "whoosh" effect losing it really fast. Even though the water makes it look like I'm losing less - I see it in my clothes and I can't argue with 8 lbs of fat for one week!
WK 1 - Down 4.5 lbs pure fat (10.7 lbs lost total) WK 2 - Down 1.5 lbs pure fat (up 3.5 lbs water) WK 3 - Down 8 lbs pure fat (up 5 lbs water) 14.5 lbs total (FAT ONLY) lost in 3 weeks!! |

This is REALLY off topic, but I just have to write! As some of you know my DH was layed off from his director position at an area hospital in June
Well it's been an interesting summer.....not entirely bad, because he is doing Medi with me, and TOGETHER we've lost about 150 pounds! He's more relaxed, healthier, and we've been able to reconnect not only with each other, but we've also been able to go to Jacksonville to help our DS and DIL with their two kids while she undergoes chemotherapy for a very rare ovarian cancer!Tonight DH is in Pa. for a job interview tomorrow. It is for his "dream" job, at his "dream" salary! Please for those of you who pray, please keep us in your prayers, and for those of you who don't....please keep your fingers crossed, and keep us in your thoughts! With the help of Medi Bill has lost just over 80 pounds and it has given him the confidence to go after this job! We went shopping for suits for him at Men's Warehouse, and found out he's "too small" for the BIG part of BIG & TALL......now he's just TALL! ![]() This is an executive job so I don't know how long before we know that he's gotten the job......but I'll sure let you all know |

Lower Body Weight Loss Kicking In Full Gear!
So, this wasn't the best week weight-wise. I gained 1.5lbs, but according to the scale I lost 1.5lbs of fat. (Translation: I was severely dehydrated last week and I'm not this week.)
But I'm thrilled to report that the upper body weight loss is now transitioning to the lower body! The first 25 pounds have mostly come from my upper body. In the first week alone, I was able to stop using the bra extender I had bought from Wal-Mart. (Oh the shame I felt at having to buy a bra extender!) I noticed I seemed to *deflate* from the top, but my size 14 pants fit forever. Just 7 days ago I posted my picture of my size 14's that have gotten too big. 10 days ago I bought size 12's of the same pants at Dillard's. Well, as it turns out I should have kept that stinking receipt because the 12's are starting to fall off! It's amazing how quickly the size change has taken place this time. I have only worn these pants to work once, and this morning when I put them on I was actually annoyed because they're baggy and don't flatter me anymore! Just had to celebrate and post about this! Sometimes when the scale is my enemy, the strangest things become my friends. ![]() And I'm posting because if I brag one more time to my dear coworker, who is a little overweight herself, she's going to punch me, I think. She's so not up for committing to LC, but I know she's not happy with her weight. I feel like I annoy her if I talk about my successes... |

so I have to be VERY careful what all I say to her......I try to contain my excitement !I kind of had the same physical reaction as you did. My bottom half is still bigger in proportion to my top.....my once 'D' cup bras are HUGE, and I'm filling more like a B-C cup now. I was THRILLED when I finally fit size 14 jeans (I can barely remember being in 14s......maybe in HS) NOW I can even fit into SOME 12s. (I REALLY don't remember EVER wearing a 12....I think I used to wear JR sizes and can remember wearing a 13) Yesterday I decided MOST of the 12s my sister in law gave me were still just a touch snug, so I went to a Goodwill and tried on 6 prs of size14 jeans, and they were too big.....I also tried on a couple of stretch jeans in 12, and they were too tight! Guess I'm just in between sizes ![]() You're doing SO great! Pat yourself on the back and I'll give you a hug ![]() |

Your w/l has been phenomenal as well! (As I mentioned in my PM I'm SOOOO envious of the 150's...) Funny thing - I was very bitter when I topped out at 196.6 that I was STILL a "B" cup! The cups never got bigger, just the band around my ribs. My body is evil - all that fat and it couldn't be bothered to store any of it in a sexy place. ![]() |

Well paulyesthers has such a nice looking avatar I'm sure her fat doesn't look as gross as all that... but I know mine does!
![]() I saw that picture somewhere, I can't remember where, and it made such an impression on me I had to save it to my hard drive to refer back to anytime I feel bad about "gaining a half pound of muscle" or "losing just a pound of fat". That stuff is nasty and FLUFFY! (Which reminds me of some nauseatingly cutesy line I always recall, "Ewe is not fat, ewe is fluffy...") |

I asked about this at my clinic today and the nurse practitioner said it was definitely because of the amount and type of exercise that I do. She said they have some people on 1,000-1,200 calories per day in acute there too! Go figure.

Thanks again for all the nice words! Diertac - I definately have fat that looks like that picture! It is always good to see. My clinic has this display sitting in the room where I weigh in. I always make sure to check it out!!
Keep up the good work! As soon as my foot is healed (it's currently broken which is why I started this new lifestyle) I'm going to try to start running. I was so impressed by all the success everyone was talking about last month running! I hate running - I think. I think really, I just don't feel like I look right running and that won't change until I start. |

I was at a family party this weekend and was disappointed that no one commented on my loss. But then I got a message from my sister this morning telling me how fabulous I look, and that she didn't want to make a big deal out of it in front of everyone (it was extended family, many of whom I haven't met before). I felt so much better. And this morning I put on a pair of suit pants that I bought several years ago and have never worn (they were too small, but now fit perfectly!). We have to remind ourselves that any loss is better than a gain, and that slow on this plan is lightening speed compared to any other plan!

Thanks everyone for the support on my clothing purge this weekend. I'm quite sure that you're all right - I'll still max out my travel suitcases, I'll just have more, lighter clothes to choose from.
I had my weigh-in this morning. Down 3.2 pounds, for which I'm very thankful, but I really wanted to be down 3.5 so that I could say that I've lost 40 pounds. I guess that'll have to wait until next week! I had a sort of rough week last week. I was really hungry for the first time since I started. The clinic said that I'm not eating enough protein calories. I hate their fuzzy math and I wish that they'd just say eat X grams of protein since that is so much more precise. They suggested not logging my veggies/healthy fat calories so that it's easier to tally just the protein. I may try that. Deb - I didn't have people say much until I hit 30 pounds or so down, then all of a sudden it's been "WOW" from people who haven't seen me in a couple of months.
