Thank you AnnK and lins, I am a very social active person so I figured I had to through myself into the fire as far as going out and bars go. Can we have the singles or crystal light or Iced tea packages, because I was thinking I can bring those out with me and change it up instead of having straight water to sip on.
-loyemarie- I was a straight carb eater to, if I would make different pastas every night, pizza, italian sandwhiches, I understand. Kelly4me- you can do it! Today is my third day and checking my keytone tomorrow, fingers crossed |

About the 128 ounces of WATER. I have always gotten in the 128 of water every day...even now...anything else is additional...at least for me. I have completely eliminated soda of any kind, did that at least 5 years ago. Still have my two cups of coffee. And PoweradeZero. Sometimes the Crystal light (Kroger Hydration equivalent).

new treat
I absoultely low chai tea. I haven't had any since I started Medi. This morning I mixed 1/2 oregon sugar free chai with my Jay Rob chocolate shake and 8 oz of almond milk. I also added ice. It was so good, I can't wait to make it again tomorrow. What a treat iced chia tea. Who knew?

Vit B and Vit B12 is water soluble. So I take one sublingual Vit B12 daily, + my regular vitamins, + an extra Vit B/C combo....that's just me though since I've been building up my immune system with all my allergy stuff. And I get the injections (both) when I go to the clinic.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! The Race for the Cure is coming up in less than 2 weeks here....a couple of girlfriends from church plan to jog it with me now! I'm so encouraged that several of us have just this year taken up jogging and now plan on this 5K and one in October also. How exciting to have accountability with exercising!
Again yesterday AM I jogged my 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 miles route without stopping. I need to stretch it out in the next week since a 5K is 3.3 miles. ![]()

I've been walking the Race for the Cure for over 17 years I think, and always planned to jog it the "next year," and never did what I needed to in order to be really ready. Then came on all this weight. Now I've built up my endurance and I'm going for it! Jerry Biggars goes to my MWL clinic too and he is going to join me in the "race"! I have SO much to be thankful for as a survivor since my surgery July 2007! I'm so glad you'll be supporting the Race for the Cure too!!

I was a little down in the dumps about my loss this week: only .8 for a total of 16.2 in 8 weeks (but 53 lbs since my highest). Then I got the stomach flu for the last 3 days and have been in CONSTANT pain everytime I eat. I haven't had any bread/carbs ANYTHING, but was very very tempted because it seems like that's what you should do when you get a GI bug like that. I was feeling a little better today, so I decided to go to the mall "just to look".
And I just have to share my good news from today!! For the first time in about 5 years, I went shopping in a NON plus-sized store. I bought a fall coat in a PETITE MEDIUM! I bought pants in sizes that do NOT end in "teen"! I sobbed in the dressing room. The very nice sales lady in Ann Taylor LOFT gave me hug and told me she was proud of me. It was surreal. ![]() So I feel renewed. I was going to quit. I said "8 weeks and that's it". But I am going to stick with it. Because 16 pounds in 8 weeks is still more than I ever lost on WW, and 53 overall is like TWO of my toddler... not too shabby! ~Sara |

Congratulations Sara! If I could I'd give you a hug too!! Stick with it! Even if the LBS don't come off week to week you just proved to yourself that you are losing inches! Something I did every other month was have someone take a photo of me from behind wearing my jeans and a black bra. It's right there where I cannot lie to myself....I see the difference. And when it got to be a 35 lbs loss for me I could BREATHE the difference....I felt so much better! Now 53.6 lbs lighter it is amazing that I could even work a 12 to 14 hour shift carrying around that much extra weight -- but I did it for years! No wonder I used to ache everywhere!! Not anymore! It's more than a size or a number on the scale. You are owning your future by the choices you are making today! I think that will be my new quote! I just came up with that and I think it sounds pretty profound! |

REALLY stressed this evening. My main computer has been infected with a virus!
Both my DH and my sister in law (who has moved in with us) have been on this computer. I have 2 different virus protection programs (AVG, and Malwarebytes) but this is one of those virus' that pops up and says the computer has been infected then tries to sell you THEIR anti virus program! This one is nasty and won't allow me to run either of my programs, or download a new one. I'm afraid I'll have to erase my hardrive to get rid of it. I really can't afford to lose everything.....well I do have some things backed up. SO anyway be careful what you open or download on your computer.Usually being this stressed (and pissed off) would have sent me right to the fridge to eat, but today I didn't have a bit of trouble staying on program! SCORE 1 for me!

Sara congratulations on the shopping trip. It's an amazing feeling. Keep up the good work!!!
I either have really bad allergies (which is unusual for me), or I am getting sick. I feel awful. My head is killing me, and I have dranage, and just feel like sleeping. I'm just dragging. I didnt' feel like eating anything this morning, but I did make a peanut butter protein shake and managed to get half of it down. I am a big baby when it comes to being sick. ![]() |

Feeling good!
I just want to share my "feeling good" state of mind. I was invited to the wedding in October and it will be a fancy place though the wedding is at 1 o'clock. Such invitation used to depress me a lot because of the dreaded shopping for an outfit and looking in the mirrow and hating what I see. Let me tell you how different it was this time after losing 101 lb. Practically everything I selected fit me, the hardest part was to decide what I like best. I ended up buying a size 10 very nice fitted short dress and it is not black! All the struggles, ups and downs with this diet are definetely worth it.

[QUOTE=msawhitt;13881617]I have been at this for a month now, and got one shot on my first visit but had the same thought as you and stopped. I've been doing fairly well, but after I got sick 2 weeks ago I started getting the B shot and have noticed a difference. It really seems to help my mood, energy, and cravings, and it helped me get over being sick very quickly. I went on a trip last weekend, and am headed on vacation next week, and adding the extra shot (I feel, anyways) gives me a bit of a boost, like a little added security. I look at it as: I am already investing so much into this, why not give it everything? I am easily saving $80 a week in what I used to eat at home/ eat out/drink, so when you consider that $10 is like 1-1/2 fast food meals (which I'm sure almost all of us were guilty of "before") which I found the money for before, I think I am going to continue taking them until I start transition (I only get this one once per week). Just my mental thoughts on it right now : )QUOTE]
Do you find that the supplements from Walmart work just as well as the medi ones? My DH says don't change anything that you know is working. I do think I will start getting the B1/B6 shot once a week to help with energy though. Thanks for helping me with this. Have fun on your vacation.

do this. As for the eating plan I think finding what will work for you and modifying it for your family can work. My family is eating basically the same thing as I am but they still get all the bread and things like that. We just have to stay strong and fight this fight to win! |

I just got to change my avatar to 60lb club!!! Then I spent the last 2 days hitting different Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul store looking for some nice clothes to tide me over until I reach goal and can really build up my wardrobe. I couldn't believe the deals I found. I spent under $50 and got 5 Chico's tops, 2 above the knee skirts and the best was a size 10 Banana Republic gray slacks.
I ended up at TJ Maxx to get 2 tops so I had complete outfits and spent $25 on just 2 simple tops. Finally, some different clothes to wear!! Today was a good day.

Losing in Ftm - Congratulations! Isn't it fun to go shopping now? I am not ashamed to be shopping at our "upscale Goodwill" I call it. It does not seem like a thrift store at all, though I have gone to those in the past too as I used to put myself last $ wise because I didn't think I was worth putting out all the cash for a size I wasn't proud of wearing. But now, with transitioning through different sizes it makes sense and it's so nice to give back to the establishments that helped me along the way to reaching my goal. Going into regular stores now I am fitting into clothes easier. Today I even bought a new size 4-6 swim top halter--no rolls to hide--that is amazing to me. Burning fat in this WOE has been taking off the inches. Stay with it friends! Nothing else has been this helpful to me!
Lins - Hope you feel better soon. I've discovered that while being in the acute phase I had limited foods because of the prescribed WOE, and now going into transition my body is complaining about foods that have corn/corn syrup/corn whatever in them. Medi has made me discover more about food allergies I've been suffering from and had ignored in the past, so I had continued to assault my body because I didn't know what feeling "good" felt like....now I know and I want to keep myself healthier as a good steward of this vessel I'm walking around in here on earth! |

Last month I find it very difficult to stay in 500 cal regimen and not to eat fresh fruit that is in season now. It took me out of ketosis. I still exercise the same way and lost some weight but not as much fat as I was losing before. This week I decided to give one last push and put myself on week1 to try to get back to ketosis so that these 6 lb will be "fat" pounds lost. Let's see if it happens. |
