End of Week 1

Never thought I would get through week one, SO much protein but I am very happy to see something green and crunchy. At weigh in I had lost 6.8 pounds which I know is great my fat % dropped by 3% but nothing else really moved. Water was still the same is this par for the course? Thanks to all the Senior members with the great knowledge base and for sharing their tips along the way.

What a wonderful first week weight loss! 6.8 pounds is awesome, even more so because it was fat & not water weight!!! Keep up the great work!

Thank You. Two things, One I am confused about what my water weight should be (in pounds) I am 5'2" is there a math formula or does it really vary from person to person.

Two..Sweets are my weakness..what can I eat to curb the sweet tooth and stay on track...I saw something about medi gummies but can not find a recipe for them. I am only on week two so I still have SO much to learn but I can say I already look at food with new eyes.

I have a HUGE sweet tooth also. What I have done so far (just finished week 4) is mix extracts/flavorings into my protein shakes. I make really thick creamy protein shakes with lots of ice and I add either vanilla, banana, butternut, etc extracts or cocoa powder or sometimes generic crystal light fruit punch. That helps me a lot. Also, what I did last week when I really wanted a cupcake or something with icing was mix a couple tablespoons of fat free cream cheese with a little spray butter and vanilla extract and ate that. Helped a lot!! Walden farms makes a great Caramel syrup too that's great when mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Hopefully that will help you out. I'm still relatively new but haven't cheated once because I make up these little "dishes" for myself when I feel like I want to cheat.

What I do when I make the gummies is to know how many calories are in the entire thing (which off the top of my head might be 40 calories for the entire box of jello, and 80 calories for gelatin - 4 envelopes @ 20 calories each - so its 120 calories). Then I use my kitchen scale and see how many ounces the batch has in it....and then put "servings" into little baggies. I like making a double batch (sometime the same flavor, other times layers of flavors) so I know then its 240 calories for the entire thing. Then I figure out how many ounces total...I usually like to do about 50 calories per bag....so I then calculate how many ounces per bag. It might be a bit time consuming at the beginning - but so worth it when I need a quick snack or something on-the-go and can just reach in the fridge and grab a baggie of the gummies.

Both of my girls (almost 5 and 2 years) LOVE the gummies! I actually want to go get some candy molds to try and make these in so that they can have some fun shapes to eat!

Hope that helped some!
