Vacations & Holidays?
 
Can some of you experienced members share with some ideas and suggestions as to how to manage for the upcoming weekend?

Friday, we are surprising Daddy for a Father's Day trip so we'll be gone Friday - very late on Saturday. Then on Sunday of course, is Father's Day and we'll be going to my inlaws I'm sure to celebrate where they make typical foods...very, very salty meats (brisket, etc) or something fattening and starchy with deserts. They are in their 80s and are the type of be offended if you bring your own foods and don't eat what is served to you. I thought at minimum, I'd eat before, stash some food in my purse to eat discreetly and put very little foods on my plate and just nibble to be polite but honestly, I'd rather not. If I'm going to eat something not on plan, I want it planned out and I want it to be something I want and not just what is in front of me. ie: I'm craving for a juicy peach.

Any advice is much appreciated!! Thanks!!!

An afterthought...I guess I COULD cook and host it here but that would be quite stressful considering I'd be cooking for a crowd and just getting back the night before really late...
