Newbie Questions!
On Day 4, doing pretty well overall, but I've come up with some questions, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some input.
#1 - I'm a morning coffee drinker. I can't imagine starting the day without a cup of coffee. We drink 1/2 Caf here, but I could pretty easily switch to decaf, as I don't experience withdrawal like some folks do. The problem is that I cannot drink coffee without cream of some kind! I've looked and looked for Sugar Free Coffeemate, and for anything else without carbs and low cal. I found a soy creamer with 15 cal. and only one carb per tablespoon. Tried it this morning, and it was very tolerable. But am I doing a bad thing by using it? Help me out here, please. #2 - I tested for ketosis this morning, for the first time, and got a "small" reading. Is that pretty normal at this stage of the game, or do I need to do something different and get a higher reading? #3 - Omega 3's. Is Fish Oil the same thing, or do I need something that actually says "Omega 3s" on it? I know I can call the clinic about these things, or at least talk to them when I go for my appt. on Thursday, but I was hoping someone would have some tips or advice before then. Thanks a lot. I'm looking to this board for a lot of my support, and so far, it's been a great resource. **Rose** :) |
Welcome to the forum, Rose. Take a look the this thread and I think you will find many of your questions answered here:

Rose, ditch the soy and get unsweetened light vanilla almond milk. Or you can get the fat free plain coffeemate. I don't think soy is allowed. Make sure you're keeping your carbs under 10! You should be in moderate ketosis by now. If you go to the energy in-energy out thread and list what you're eating, we can help a bit more.
Welcome and glad you're here!! |
