Xylitol Questions

Hi there-- I was just wondering if anybody has any opinions about using xylitol. I am trying to not use splenda, aspartame.... This seemed healthier...
Thanks

I heard Stevia is healthier. A health doctor told me.

My mom is a big fan of Stevia. She carries a little bottle in her purse. I have tried it a few times. But haven't made the complete transfer over from Splenda. Stevia in the liquid form is fine for teas. I will have to give it another try in coffee. The last time I had it in my coffee, I may have dropped too much and it changed the taste. One of my long-term goals is to come off of the fake sugars.

Personally, I love erythritol. Xylitol is ok too, very tasty, but I get digestive upset from it.

Azurro,
Xylitol is actually great as long as it's derived from birch trees...this type actually helps you also to fight cavaties in the mouth! For those who have never had it, it's best to start slow since it can cause stomach upset (gas, bloating, loose stools) for those who aren't used to it. If you start small, most people do adjust to it and do fine.

Stevia is great but the white ones are processed a bit more. There is ground whole leaf stevia which is more natural but it's green and has a bit more of an aftertaste since it's not just the liquid.

I like non gmo erythritol too. It's basically corn sugar alcohols. Some brands can be a bit bitter so sometimes I'll mix different types of sugars to get a more flavor and mix it all in a mason jar.
