Newbie needs acute phase calorie help....
 
Does anyone have a "menu" that they used for the acute phase? I am in day one...just started again after last years loss w/ Medi. I had alot of trouble last year trying to get IN enough of the 500 calories and don't want to make that mistake again. Any suggestions on inbetween snacks,etc??? The meds keep me from being hungry and I don't want to go into starvation mode...:confused:

You won't go into starvation mode as long as you get 500 calories in protein foods. Here is a sample day:

Breakfast:
2 eggs with 1 oz ham - 185 cal

Lunch
3 oz turkey lunch meat -105 cal

Snack:
1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese with a little cinnamon -70 cal

Dinner:
3 oz extra lean ground beef hamburger with mustard- 165 cal.

Snack: 1 cup chicken broth

Total: 535 calories.

In addition to the above, if the AS is too strong, try cutting it in half!

I wouldnt worry too much about starvation mode. If someone ate , say, 4000 calories in a day at another diet form we'de all say "dont fret, just do better tomorrow, its a new day". just like one or two days of under-eating wont kill you either as long as its not a habit or intentional. I take the phen and sometimes I have a hard time looking at food and I refuse to FORCE myself to eat. However it always balances out by the end of the day.
