Question about B-6 shot

I am new and I am starting the diet portion of the program tomorrow. I just received a B-12 and a B-6 shot. That B-6 shot hurt like heck--and still hurts. Is that normal?

:welcome:

It does burn, but I think it really helps with water retention, so I get it every week!

If it burns, it means the solution is fresh.

It DOES burn! I would totally get it if I could. :( It helped a lot with cravings and water retention for sure. Unfortunately, whatever preservative Medi uses in their shots and omegas I'm allergic to! Total bummer and totally rare, by the way. Just wanted to chime in and tell you if you really don't want the B6 shot because of the pain, you will still lose weight without it. I have only had 2 of the injections and I've been consistently losing since day 1 9 weeks ago!

It does burn and I am aware of it for a little bit afterwards, but it goes away quickly. I do highly recommend it. Like everyone else says it helps with cravings and water retention.

Ive gotten it in the arm twice and it hurt like heck.. Im pretty good with shots but that one, just wow. Im going to try to get it in the hip next week to see if it helps.

I had one really sweet young lady do the shot very SLOW a couple of times and it helped A LOT. You can ask if they will give it to you slow...unfortunately, I asked another girl to do it slow and she basically laughed at me and gave it to me "her way" (which she said was 'medium' :annoyed:)...and it burned and left a huge bruise. I guarantee slow is better...the burn comes a little after the shot, but not as intense.

I'm not totally sure if this is related or now to the shot but I got it one time. It didn't burn, nurse did it slow injected into my tush. I was exhausted that afternoon and night. I mean like the couch and I became one. Really out of it. It didn't do anything for the weight loss up or down so not getting it anymore.

They are not suggesting you get it in the hip?? The clinics here will not give the B6 in the arm, and I can understand why. I have a hard time getting the injections, but I find that they do help.
That last time I was in for a visit, I mentioned that I have a hard time getting in for the mid-weeks because of work. They told me about Medi-Melts. They are the same as the injections, only they melt under the tounge. You can not take them for 48 hours of either side of the injection, but they seem to work. In my area, they are $15/bottle, and if you take them in the middle of the week only, the bottle should last approx 2 months. I also went and bought the B6 and B12 tablets to take with the Medi-Melts to replace the injection that burns. I got the lowest mg on them I could find because as my counselor says.....you pee out the B's that your body does not use....so don't waste the money on higher mg....

hope this helps!

Are the medi-melts for the B6 or the other one? thats very helpful to know because I too cant get to the clinic for the second shot. And Id love to take the B6 in a different form. The shot sucks! Do you feel a noticeable difference with the pils?

cherliquidair 05-17-2010 01:31 PM

The melts replace the MIC shot. They dissolve under your tounge, and to me it seems like they work better. When I get the injections, I get so worn out halfway through the day, I just wanna crash. I didn't feel that with the melts.

I also take B-6 and B-12 to replace the one that burns. I paid like $10 for both bottles, which for me is better than the $20/wk it would cost to get the shots twice. I just started taking them on friday, so we will see how I do with them. I will try to remember to post how I do at weigh-in NEXT week cause I blew it this week.

Isnt the shot B1 and B6? or is it B12... anywho I got the shot yesterday in the backside and it made a BIG difference for me. it still stung but not as much. Ive been feeling bloated recently so I figured why not.

shot

Back in February I got a shot that was quite painful...I commented and was told that they quit putting lidocaine in them.

Lindsey H 06-06-2010 10:45 AM

where do you buy the medi-melts .. i have googled and nothing comes up :( ... I dont mind the MIC shot but sooner or later I wont be able to afford this program anymore .
Ive never gotten the B-6 I assumed the MIC was B-6 and B-12 ?

suzanna1 06-06-2010 11:24 AM

The Medi-Melts are puchased at Medi. Essentially they are sublingual B12, B6, chromium. You can purchase something similar from Netrition or any vitamin store/pharmacy. I was thinking about trying this product: NOW Foods Instant Energy B-12 when I finish up my Medi-Melts to save a little $.
