WOW! Still sore from running my first 10K Race since 1985! My official time was (and you can say it was easy as) 01:02:03! Did my weights Sunday morning and a spin class and steamed this morning. Plan on hitting another spin class tonight! I think my scale is broken! It doesn't want to go below 200! Oh well...gotta keep doin what I'm doin!

My BMI was 27.5 and fat % was 16.6%. Funny thing happened though! A bunch of people thought I looked taller so I had the take my height measurement again. My first visit I was 5' 11" but last week I measured 5' 11.5"! WOOT!

I have tried them all...Ive read the newbie site and have found that so helpful....Fingers crossed for my first week. Weigh in is Thursday
Thanks All!!
No worries! Even a trace means you are in Ketosis! I was always just showing a trace. Remember that all the water your drinking is diluting the results you are seeing! Good Luck!

Hello Medi Friends!!!

I am so grateful to have discovered this forum! I have spent all day reading and exploring all of your encouraging stories, tips and acheivements. Thank you all for sharing. I only hope to be as inspiring to others as you have been for me. I am new to Medi. I am on day 4 of my first week. I must say that although I approached this decision to try Medi with much anxiety, I am more determined than ever to make sure this time weight loss works! Its only been 4 days and I feel so good. Its amazing what the carbs were doing to my energy levels. I am so excited to be successful. I want to maintain good health. So, I will be back (often). I will be posting my progress. My first weigh in is Wednesday...eek!

When I did WW a few years back it really helped to have someone going through what Im going through, with similar goals, and Im still friends with some of those people today. Im wrapping up my second week, and have about 50# to loose. Im nervous about weigh in tomorrow because my home scale is broken.
I have AIM and Skype =)

I'm headed to Maine tomorrow for 5 days!! I just started week 4 and this is my first time away since starting the program...a little nervous since grocery store access is limited, but I have NO intentions whatsoever to stray from the program. Hope to enjoy lots of fresh seafood :-). Wish me luck and hope everyone has a good rest of the week and weekend!

Hello all....have not posted in a while but do continue to read when I can. I am coming up on 1 year on plan and am down 110 total. I just got back from being in Mexico for 2 weeks on vacation with my husband and friends which was amazing. It was beyond thrilling to be so comfortable in a bathing suit and to run on the beach. I went zip lining which was awesome and would have been over the weight requirement had I not decided to change my life and get healthy!

I started back on week 1 yesterday since I was off plan in Mexico and gained some. I am having terrible headaches but am sure I will feel better in the next day or so.

I enjoy reading about everyone's success and really appreciate the veterans advice! Keep up the great work!

I had not posted before and after pictures in a while so here are some. The medi shots are my 90 pounds gone and the other is a before and after from vacations in 2008 and now. Thank you for letting me share. Medi is awesome!

You look great! You must feel like a different person!!

I am really kinda disappointed that my clinic didn't take pic's. I've been searching everywhere for a good "before" picture of me. I hope I'll be able to post something once I reach my goal!

My weigh in is tonight and I'm 2.2lbs away from 50. I can hardly believe it!

WTG GirlInJersey!

Well folks! I will be away from the boards for a bit as I fly back down to Tampa, Florida. Will be there this Thursday - Sunday for the Medi Photo Shoot. Look for me on the July issue! We are also going to trek across the state on Saturday to spend some time at Universal Studios Orlando! Now that I can fit in the rides, gonna act like a teenager! Well, maybe not!

Hi everyone - just checking in here! Thank you for the continued motivation. I thoroughly enjoy hearing from everyone on here!

Here's the question of the day from me. lol (Because I always have something, right?) What's your opinion on artificial sweeteners? I'm paying more attention to the quality of food I'm consuming these days. I just haven't felt great the past few days and it might not be this but I"m wondering if it's the crystal light, walden farms, diet soda, lo carb monster, atkins bars, medi shakes, splenda packet in coffee, etc. I don't have that every day but sometimes I have multiple items and I know it adds up! I've been reading the new Atkins book and they recommend not having more than 3 splenda packets a day if you don't eat any of that other stuff! Interesting.

I love coming here and hearing how everyone else is doing. It's a great motivator. I love seeing all the before and after pictures. You guys all really look amazing. I can't wait until that is me!!!

Week 5 weight-in tomorrow. I am a bit nervous because I haven't felt skinnier this week....lol I know that sounds silly. I haven't gone off the program at all, I've run/walked/biked 4 times this week and was over 10,000 steps every day. And I've never been out of ketosis every since day 4. So I have no reason to feel the way I do. I don't weigh at home, so I am hoping the scale tomorrow proves my feelings wrong!

Weigh in tomorrow and I totally get the not feeling skinnier this week. I feel that way a lot. Tomorrow will tell how this week went.

As for artificial sweeteners, the only stuff I use is in Crystal Light, but I drink a LOT of them in day. Also, I'm a diet Mt. Dew drinker and tho I usually limit to one or two cans a day, for the last couple days I've been drinking at least a six pack. I truly FEEL better when I don't have so much of these drinks, but I've been so thirsty lately and plain water isn't my favorite thing - at least not at these quantities! That's a new personal focus - trying to drink more plain water and less of the other stuff. That's actually harder than limiting the food intake!

Kate- you look AMAZING!! You're a real inspiration to me!! You look like a completely different person.

I'm just curious how tall you are? The reason I ask is because I started at the same weight as you and am trying to find out where I want to end up. I have my mini goal of 155, with a final goal of 145-150. I'm not sure how I'll feel at those weights on my 5'7" height. I guess I'll just have to get there and see how it goes.

I can finally (73lbs later) see the person I hope to become. So looking forward to getting to where you are!!

Mom on a Mission - Thanks so much. I am 5 feet even....SHORT! I hit my goal with Medi of 140 but still on acute. When I first started we agreed on that goal because it was within the ok range for Medi. I had not been at the weight in forever so it seemed seriously impossible. When I got there I decided to go on maintenance with Medi to lower the cost for me but staying on acute as I still want to take off another 15 pounds or so. I would encourage you to talk to your counselor...mine has been so helpful with all of this!

Best of luck and congratuations on your great results so far!

Cori and Kate,
WOW! You both look so awesome! Thank you for posting your photos...it's inspiring! I don't have a digital camera, still use 35 mm and someday will post some photos online. Actually, I think the one I have posted now to the left and it's alternative (when you click on it) are when I was about 177, not 190. They were taken about 3 1/2 years ago. I'm now 157. Thinking of changing my goal from 140 to 130....I'll see about that when I get to 140.
Thanks again for the encouragement by showing us that you worked Medi for yourself!

I think the splenda limit has to do mainly with intestinal distress...

It's interesting that you bring this up, because this is one of the things that concerns me about this sort of weight loss program. I am a huge proponent of eating food and things like chocolate sauce with no calories, no carbs, and no fat, just aren't food. In switching to the Medi way of eating, I've compromised on a couple of things. I often have the EAS shakes for breakfast and I drink one PowerAde Zero each day (I tried the SmartWater, but was getting leg cramps). Other than these two things, I eat proteins and veggies with as little processing (an additives) between the food source and my kitchen as possible. If you are interested food and eating, the I would recommend reading In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto by Michael Pollan.

Ok, just another short note before I leave for Tampa! Here is another Medi-Weightloss blogger who is having success in her journey that you will find helpful! A Weighty Life Went in this morning to my Medi-Weightloss Clinic to do some investigation as to why I can’t seem to break into my “One”derland. My water weight was up a bit and my doc says she thinks it is a result from a number of things. 1) Travel: eating out and not having total control over what is going into my body, less exercise, and not getting all of my fluids in! And 2) Lack of rest/more stress) Running around to meet schedules, catch planes, unfamiliar surroundings, etc! The sum of all this is my body is holding onto water so after I get back from Tampa this Sunday I will begin a little program that Dr. Cobb gave me called the Medi Challenge. I will post the details of this on my blog next Tuesday morning so tune in then! Monday I will tell you how my Tampa trip went! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Ugh I knew last week wasn't great, although I can't pinpoint why. I was only down -.5lb (-2lbs of fat, and up +1.5lb of water) this week. That's so frustrating. I am going to go back and do week one and see if I can jump start some things. I need to do that to feel like I am in control again. I have never gone out of ketosis, I've been over 10,000 steps everyday, and ran or biked 3-4 of those days. I am eatting medi approved food. The only thing I can think of is that my fat level might be a little up. I am just really going to watch it this week.

But I am still dissapointed so any encouragment you could send my way would be great.
