Anyone in Richmond VA
Going to start Medi tomorrow and was wondering if anyone is going to the Richmond, VA office. I know it is very new but it would be nice to have some local people to chat with too.

I just started week 2 at the Richmond office and it is harder for me than week 1 because I'm not really sure what to eat. The first appt was fine but the second appt I had to wait 45 mins. They had an ad in the Sunday paper and were seeing a lot of new patients. I'll have to start going after work if this is going to be status quo. Anyway, it was very rushed and I'm not sure what to eat this week. But I did lose 7.4 lbs the first week so I'll keep plugging.

Are any of you still actively doing MEDI? I'm new to it. Today is my 5th day. Wondering how your plan is going?

Hi Kelly. Yea, I thought the Richmond office looked super nice. I live in the west end so it doesn't take me but about 15 minutes to get there. I'm going for my week 1 weigh in tomorrow, talk about nervous

You know, I still get nervous every time I go in. That seems pretty silly at this point, but I do! Best of luck with your weigh in!

Hi Kelly
Weigh in went great -6.8lbs. So that's a total of 12lbs lost since 1-1-11. I cut out sweets 1-1 for my new year's resolution, and lost 5lbs. I think that was a really good thing to do before starting MEDI. I got the pecan cinammon protein bars today. I think that will be a great at work snack!

Congrats! You're making fantastic progress.
I always keep a protein bar and some other snack options in my pocketbook. It makes a big difference when I get hungry when we're out and about. Light string cheese, 100 calorie nut packs and Ostrim (Netrition sells it) beef jerky are all good options. It makes it much easier to avoid the convenience (and calories, salt, etc) of a drive-thru. |

Thanks Kelly
I bought the 100 calorie packs of Almonds @ Wal-mart today, but I think it will be cheaper to order them online from Sam's. I think I will order the ostrim, once I'm ready to purchase a few other items. Do you use xantham gum? I see that it's cheaper @ netrition, than Kroger's. Have you tried miracle noodles or seen them for sale aywhere around? I checked the Fresh market today, but they didn't have them.

I do use Xantham Gum since my son can't eat gluten. I use it in most of his baked goods. I have the Bob's Red Mill bag. I think I got it when it was on sale at Whole Foods.
I haven't tried the miracle noodles. All of the treads about their smell and soaking them turned me off. Now that I'm in maintenance, I'll have the Dreamfields pasta for a rare treat. It's really good. |

Hey Kelly
I saw that you lost 50lbs in 4 months! Awesome! What kind of exercise did you do, or any special tips you can share with me? I lost another 5.5 lbs at my weigh in on Thursday! I am so happy!

Hey there - sorry, I missed this post! Thanks for your kind words and congrats on your continued success - isn't it awesome?
Most of my exercise has been walking on a treadmill and some light weight training. Nothing too extensive. Chasing my son has been the rest of it! LOL I know that the area of exercise is really where I need to step it up to further reduce my fat percentage and firm up a bit. |

Hi Kelly,
I belong to Victory Lady Fitness. I don't know where you are in Richmond or if it is convenient for you, but it's pretty cheap there. I pay 15$ month, they also offer a variety of classes. |

I am in Richmond, but I'm an American Family member. I used to belong to VL, but they didn't have childcare and I really needed it, so I bit the bullet and paid the big bucks. It would have been nice to meet up for workouts!

Shoot
O yes, you did pay the big bucks! I used to be a member. American Family is a super nice gym though, with the pool and jacuzzi. I went to a pilates class today, they said it was for ALL levels, that was a load of bologna! I'm sure I'll be sore for days!
![]() I don't know if you've ever looked for them, but I found the tofu shirataki noodles at Whole Foods. They aren't the same as the miracle noodles. They don't have much of a fishy smell, at all. I'm thinking of ordering some of the DaVinci sugar free syrups, have you used any of them? |

AFF is nice and my little guy loves the pool and kid's area, so we've been happy with it.
Speedy recovery from your class. I hate it when I over do it because they I don't want to go back! I'll have to try those noodles sometime. I'm curious about their texture. Yep, I've used both the DaVinci and Torani syrups - love them! I started drinking mostly decaf when I started Medi and I use the syrups every day, they're great! I also use some of them to flavor plain seltzer water for a diet-soda like treat.

hi
Hi, I am from the Richmond area and just had my 1st visit on Thursday (4/21). I am excited and nervous. All have been able to think about is food & how to plan it. Any quick suggestions...suggestions for fast food options? I have 3 kids & a busy schedule so I need easy options. This is my 3rd day & I haven't stepped on the scale yet.
Also, I have been putting 1 slice of FF American cheese on my Turkey sausages. (1/2 on each) for a bfast option...is that okay to have cheese the 1st week? I thought that's what they said but its SO much info. Thanks!!! ![]() |

Are you going to the Innsbrooke location? They provide a great dining out guide...
