Embarrassed to go back!
Hi,
I was a Medi client about a year and a half ago. I lost 40 lbs and loved it. Due to strained finances, I had to stop going. I maintained for a while, but I have managed to put back on every pound that I lost. I can't really afford to go back, but I am desperate. I am having a hard time mustering up the courage to go back and face them. I am sure they see this a lot, but I am really struggling with it. Any thoughts? ![]() |

Don't forget, you are giving them money! I would be shocked if they were anything less than pleasant and encouraging! And remember, you deserve to feel better. If going back is what it takes, then pull on your big girl panties and get back in there!

They make more money when people relapse and come back. They will be thrilled! Just don't fret about it.

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone! I do just have to suck it up. I did feel so much better back then. I just have to get through that first appointment and back on track. Thanks again!

Speaking as a Medi counselor, you are not alone. They will welcome you back. Medi is not in the weightloss business because people can do it on their own. That is what they are there for. At my clinic, many of us have struggled with our weight our whole life and not until Medi were we able to get the weight off. We still struggle and work at it every day. Do not feel embarassed, we have all walked in your shoes. It is a very human thing to relapse. I have lost and gained my weight 3 times, but this time I plan to keep it off forever by sticking to the Medi WOE.

I have a question about this.. I know every clinic might be different, but do you have to pay the starting cost again when you restart? Although I'm not at my goal yet, I'm having a hard time going every week because I it's hard to pay $70 a week... I have been cancelling my appointments every other week (not good I know) but I'm embarrased to ask them if there's any way to go every other week instead. But to get back to my question.. If I did leave for a while and then decided to go back later on, do we still pay the $250-something fee???

Rochelle,
I will have to pay the start up fee again as it has been longer than 6 months since I was there. I asked if there was any way around that and there wasn't. The only thing they could offer was a $50 coupon that has been in the newspaper. As for the weekly appointments, I used to only schedule them for every 2 weeks and they were OK with that. I still got my meds for both weeks, I just didn't get the shots the week I didn't go in. |
