Been reading many threads. I noted the some people rarely eat fruit even though we're allowed to have one in place of a vegetable serving and they only get proteins from meats. Is there really a difference in doing this route? I like having the cheeses because they provide some variety that I was missing. I'll be glad when Passover is over. It really made week 2 a struggle, but I've followed all the rules.

I personally stay away from fruit because it can be VERY high in carbs. When I plan to have fruit, I usually just have 1 cup of strawberries because that is only 10 carbs. I love raspberries and blueberries because they are fairly carb friendly, but they can be pricey. Here in Florida, we can pick strawberries for $1/quart, so I've been eating them lately!

I just got back from vacation and need to get back on track! I wasn't as diligent as I should have been with the diet, but look forward to getting back to week 1 and moving forward. I hope all of you had a great week!

Ran a 2 mile race this weekend and after only training for 8 days, finished in 19:51! The first mile was done at 7:48...lol...was freaked (was shooting for 10 minute miles) and wanted to make sure I made it so slowed down....too much!

Well I'm home and I made it through. lol I truly was so hungry that entire trip but I think I lost quite a bit. All of my pants are somewhat baggy on me now. Plus I realized that if I can make it through a weekend with Grandma, I can pretty much do anything! Weigh in today - hoping for the best!

Thank you all for your support while I was there. I felt so alone.

On another note, I took a break at Barnes and Noble and bought Hungry Girl's newest cookbook and it's great! I went through it and dog eared everything that was medi friendly last night (or at least adaptable) and there is a ton in there. Just FYI!

Hey, I eat fruit almost daily. It is usually in the am. I will add 1/4 c Strawberries @ 12 cal & 3 carbs to my cottage cheese or blend w/ vanilla shake & ice to make a smoothies. I also add 1oz blueberries to cottage cheese at 16 cal & 3.5 carbs. I couldn't live w/o fruit! Even that little bit satisfies me and is personally worth those few carbs. Good luck, SCgirl

Not sure if it is too late to post for Total lbs lost in March, but I just got back from vacation and was not really able to get online. If not too late, my total was 20lbs. Glad to be back from vacation and into my routine. Worried about weigh in tomorrow. Good day to everyone, SCgirl

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to say I'm on Day 1 of this WOE. My mom has been doing this since Sept 2009 and has lost 40lbs & is encouraging me to do the same. Unfortunately I do not a clinic near me being that I live very far down in the State but my mom has provided the multivitamin and Fat Burner from Medi. I'm went to costco for the B12 and fat burner. (I've been trolling the forms for awhile to prepare. :blush

I started low carb in Jan 2009 and with exercise have lost a few pounds but I'm excited as my clothes feel much looser.

I'm excited to be on this journey with you all. Thanks for all the Newbie materials. With this and the manual, the only thing preventing me from losing is me if I don't commit 100%.

OH and just wanted to add that this was my original Weight Watchers goal that I reached 2 years ago. Of course I chose the absolute highest number I possibly could so that I could stop paying quickly. LOL So in essence, this is my first goal I've set with Medi. Next goal is 6 pounds away because that's when I was a size 8. I CAN DO THIS!

Congratulations Erin, I'm also 5'4" but even whenever I was at 140 I was never smaller than a 12, must be my body frame. Congratulations on your quick success! It's inspiring me to "go beyond..." because I'm sitting at about 164 and aiming ideally for 140 also!

Thank you! I weighed 125lbs in high school for about a week and I never wore anything smaller than a 12! I think I managed to get a couple of 10s. What's up with that? Oh, I'm 5'5". It makes me crazy. Yet, people who weigh more than me wear the same size as me.

That's why I thought I was still fat at 125lbs... because I was still wearing double digit sizes.

txntv - You just reminded me of when after my 2nd daughter's birth I worked and worked and got the pregnancy weight off (43 lbs) then kept going until I got down to 108 lbs a year later..my husband said that was TOO skinny, but, I was only JUST able to fit into size 8 and then couldn't stay that small cuz my husband didn't like it (of course that was also when waist bands were up at the actual waist). So I went back up to 118 to 140. I used to be all concerned about being a certain size and frustrated that I could never reach size 4 or 6 or even 10. Now I just want to be Fit2010.....fit in 2010. Yes, I still have goals I'm not yet reaching in this pursuit because of my serious time constraints (working 2 jobs and being in grad school), but I'm alot better off than having not taken this journey thus far! I am still making better choices, though slower than others, I'm making better choices that affect my health. Being in this MWL discussion online is an absolute Godsend, and I cannot imagine that I'd be as successful without this support. It's what I'm needing here and now, and I thank you all for your input! Let's put away the expectations that are not realistic for our body types, and just enjoy our best health possibilities!.

Yep I was blessed with enormous bones. Nothing dainty about this girl. Lol. The clinic said 125 may be too thin for my frame but we will see once we get there. I've ever worn a size 6 or less so that would be really exciting! I have a huge booty so I think it would take that to get it to a normal size. Lol. I wish I were proportionate.

That's just it... I have a flat booty and no unusual shape. Got average-sized bones. Is the bone thing for real or a myth?

cjbee-
Its not just a theory its a fact! There have actually been reports of size creep- but mainly its just in America since we tend to be one the most overweight countries. I went shopping this weekend to celebrate being soooo close and in every store I was a size 4- I have NEVER been a 4 even when I weighed 10lbs less than I do now. I bought some shorts- measured them against a size 8 that I have and they are almost the EXACT same measurements- I'm talking with in milimeters. I also went in one store and they said "oh if you are a 4 everywhere else, you are a 2 for us. Ridiculous!!! No wonder obesity is becoming so commonplace, our sizes are growing with us so we are numbed into thinking we are staying the same. Its really quite deceptive- but its all about marketing and the $$$$$.

Hi there.. Im having a tough week. I was happy with my weigh in last Friday and my home scale showed some good things the next few days. Then Easter happen. Not only did I make bad choices on Easter Sunday but Im having a rough week getting back in. Not just from will power but also from hunger. Amazing how that happens. Well, I have until Friday for my next weigh in so I hope to get back on track by today. Hubby is traveling so that makes it a little easier so I just have to fix something for the kids and then can do a modified week 1 for me.

Starting Again

I started Medi about this time last year and lost 35 pounds in the 4 months I followed the plan. I was getting ready for my wedding and I wanted to lose the weight and I did. I then enjoyed married life since December and have gained back 17 pounds. Not horrible considering all the horrible things I ate, but I am unhappy with the way I look and feel. I strted week one today with a trip the the Dr. and grocery. I know this plan works, and I am ready to work it. I need the accountability though so I am telling everyone I know that I am changing my life in hopes they encourage and keep my fire lit. Hoping this board will do the same for me.

Hi Rhi,

I am a counselor now at the Sandlake Clinic. If you were there today I must have been in the back and missed you. Darn. Congrats on your marriage and don't fret about the 17 pounds. You will get it off in no time. I gained weight too when I first got married (about 100 years ago ). I wasn't used to fixing a smaller portion for myself and a larger portion for him when I cooked and 30 pounds later I finally figured it out. Unfortunately, the larger portions eventually caught up with him too and he put on 40+ pounds which he has recently taken off with Medi.

I hope to see you one of these visits. Good luck and we are all here for you.

Susie

Lost 1.5 lbs in my second week. Disappointing. Medical field says the ideal weight for my height is 125. I have way more than 30 to lose to get there, so why is it this low?

Discouraged.

For TXNTV: I'm only on Day2 but from what I have seen on the boards, if you had a large loss on week 1, week 2 loss tends to be much smaller. It should pick up next week.

Just keep sticking to the plan. At least you can have veggies

You might want to check out the thread for Week 1 Losses. There people post what their losses where and can give you an idea.

Hang in there! It's only temporary and will pass.

Sorry, I know yall are probably just about tired of me! but! I just ran 3 miles at an 11:30 pace! Feeling great! I only have 4 weeks to get ready for my 10k race (6.1 miles). Scales continue to drop! This morning I weighed in at 203! Holey Moley! 4 pounds to "One-derland" and 10 pounds to 300 lost! I am just tingling all over!

Hey Guys - I could use some encouragement. Week 12 WI this morning, only 1lb lost. 2lbs of fat, but retaining 1lb of water. Although I did hit the 50lb mark I am still pretty bummed about only losing 1lb.
Has anyone noticed that after a significant loss like 50lbs things start to drastically slow down?
I feel like my body is betraying me. I exercise everyday and have followed the diet religiously.
Thanks
