MomOnAMission - YAYAYAAYAY!! That is so awesome! And you're only going to go down from here! Congratulations!
SuperMom - yes, the 500-600 range is the calories for your protein only, you don't have to count calories in the veggies, only carbs. In order to help keep me below the 20g per day carb count I eat veggies that are pretty low in carbs, like asparagus, cauliflower, and broccoli. Every once in a while I eat fruit and it is usually strawberries and raspberries as they are the lowest in carbs. Once you've had/looked up everything a couple times you will get to know how much of everything you can eat. I split my carbs up over the day, but I've been reading that most people eat them in the morning, so I may try that now. Eptexy - I actually am on the AS, I take it 3 times per day. No dry mouth at all unfortunately, then I would at least WANT to drink the water! I think I've got it figured out now though. I drink 20 oz on my way to work, then the next 20 oz is my breakfast shake, then 32 oz over the next couple hours, then another 20 oz with hot water and lemon, so that is 92 and then I just have to force myself to drink a Coke Zero or a flavored water. My problem is I don't like cold water, only room temperature, so the flavored water at room temp is a little weird. For those of you that haven't tried the Cocoa Roasted Almonds DO IT!! They are so good! They taste like candy and are actually good for you. I bring the little 100 calorie bag and have 1/2 for my morning snack and the other 1/2 for my afternoon snack. That way I get my chocolate fix all day! And I agree with whoever said they got them at Target, that's the only place I've found them too, and I've looked all over!

I record it all but put parenthesis around non-protein calories so I don't count them when I'm figuring how many protein calories I have left as the day goes on.
150 (35) 125 75 (50) Example above tells me I still have 150 protein calories to eat and I've already consumed 85 non-protein calories |

Hi all! It's been a long week for me. I had a cold most of the week and really wanted orange juice, grilled cheese sandwiches, and tomato soup. It's funny, because I wasn't even hungry - it was just the strong association between being sick and eating those things. I did manage to stay completely on plan though. I even made sure I bought sugar free cold medicine - which seems a little manic to me, but I was thinking that I'm not going to let cold medicine or cough drops wreck my ketosis. If I end up out of ketosis it's going to be for something that at least tastes good!
Anyway, I had my 4th weigh-in today and lost 3.5 pounds. Which puts me at 19.5 pounds down in 27 days! I can't help but wish I'd hit 20 (just because it's such a nice round number), but I am not disappointed in the least and I would be horrified if anyone took that as a complaint. I am starting to feel more energetic too, so I think I'm going to start back on my running plan next week.

Oh, and a note about the chocolate dusted almonds. I have tried them and they are delicious! Too delicious for me. I end up craving them too much and wanting to eat too many. So, I've decided that I would rather not have them at all. Like french fries.

Emerald Cocoa Almonds can be found in a big clear container at Sams. Beware, you have to limit yourself!

Tonight was pretty interesting. My bff and I went to the liquor store and I was carded. When the clerk carded me she did a double take and asked me if I had a second form of ID to prove it was me. All I had was my debit card. The manager came ever and I explained to her that it is me. The thing that is different is that I am 37 lbs. lighter than when I had taken the picture. She said that it may be time to get a new picture for my DL. I am really wanting to wait until I hit goal, before I take a new picture. It did make me feel wonderful for the rest of the night.

My weigh in is tomorrow and I'm very nervous. I've been in bed all week with a high fever popping pills for the viral infection I have. I sound as if I have a whistle in my chest. Since I've been so sick my mom has stayed with me to help me with my son. I haven't been eating a lot but drinking a lot of tea and my mom been making all the meals.
I don't think I've gained but at the same time I don't think I've lost I just want to feel better!

On that same note, I am NERVOUS for my weigh in! I know I shouldn't have done this but I've been weighing on my scale and it isn't budging. I don't know what the deal is - I haven't cheated at all and feel really good about my self control and planning. I'm just going to keep on keeping on but I will be seriously disappointed if I don't lose at least 2 pounds.

I have been reading but not posting so here goes. I have been dieting my whole life and over Christmas I saw a best friend after a year and she looked fabulous. She told me about this diet and I started as soon as I got back home. I have to drive 180 miles round trip every week but it is worth it.
January -14. 6 February - 11.8 March wk 8 -1.0 wk 9 - 3.2 60 years old and I have finally find a way to eat that works. I love the support of this web site. I have lost 30 pounds as of last thursday and my goal is 35 pounds more. My god daughters wedding is in 8 weeks and a 50 pounds gone would make a great day for family pictures not even to mention to stay healthy for the babies in the future. |

Oh yes I was on Cloud Nine. Then reality hit me this morning. I know the clinic suggest to weigh in once a week, which is Tuesday for me. I ate alot last night 1200 calories and 21.5 grams of that was carbohydrates, and no drinking alcohol for me. My water intake was only 96oz., which I normally take in 128oz.
Making a long story short I weighed myself and had a 2.5lb gain . I also showed larg 16 ketosits(dehydrated). Today I went back to day one and downed 128oz. of water within four hours of waking. I am going to live and learn, brush myself off and pick myself up. Darn taco cart at the party and I kept going back for the rib eye steak too. Hopefully when I weigh myself tomorrow I see some kind of loss. |

Hey Guys, I haven't been on in a LONG time! Wow! I have been doing maintenance since Late December when I had my gallbladder out. I reached 180 pounds just before that and have decided that I am happy with where I am! Together with the support of my clinic, I am maintaining my weight for almost 3 months now
![]() Anyway, if you need help or have questions, please PM me and I'm happy to chat! I'm not able to be on the boards much anymore because life is just very hectic, but I do sing the praises of Medi everywhere I go Best of luck to you all!!!

First week done
Hey everyone,
I saw a 2 on the scales for the first time in a LOOOOONG time today!! I finished week one, weighed in and lost a whopping 17 POUNDS!!!! ![]() Even more wonderful than that is the fact that this past week has been quite easy, and I find that fascinating. I've really enjoyed what I've been eating, and I was able to easily pass up homemade chocolate chip cookies (my favorite!) and mac 'n cheese from Panera....it was like it wasn't even a problem. I'm not naive, though. I know it won't always be this easy, but I'm so glad the first week was a success! Keep it up, everyone! This really works! Kelley |

Great job everyone!!! WOW Kelley - that is amazing! And Jessica - you are beautiful! Good luck!
I had a fantastic dinner last night. Found some already prepared frozen chicken fajitas that are 0 carbs. Had that, some lettuce, and then sauteed red onion with cheese, salsa, and ff sour cream. Really really yummy and satisfying. |

ok so I have been wanting to jump for joy since yesterday and do not want to BRAG to others but I am going to here!
#1-I saw my sister this weekend and she was in shock with my weight loss #2 I am now in a size 8 or 29 and even 1 pair of 28's #3 a friend gave me her capris that I love which are anne taylor-kind of the baggy style--and guess what a size 6 and they fit! So I know looking in the mirror I still have a ways to go for my goal-my lower tummy needs work-and I still wish more people would notice or comment not that I NEED that recognition but I want to know that I look different--does that make any sense at all? and I know size is not much I have some 12 capris that fit and now some 6 --but it still made my weekend that much better
