You're welcome Gemini! You're down almost 30 lbs in just over two months, that's awesome! Before you know it, you'll be at goal. I just try not to count days or weeks or anything, just every day keep doing what I know I need to and the rest will follow. Each week that I go to the clinic, I know I'm closer to my goal. I have lost every week that I've been doing this plan. As long as that keeps up, I will reach my goal, it's just a fact!

I wanted to thank everyone for their encouragement (and permission to be wordy!).
Desert-Rose7, I am heartened to hear that your thoughts were similar to mine. Of course, it feels good to not be alone, but also looking at your success - well, I hope to mirror that as well. Amy1915, That's terrific that you can already get in to some of your goal clothes! I have a beautiful silk Calvin Klein jacket that I bought at a discount store a couple of years ago. It has never fit, but at the time it represented the kind of thing I wished I could wear. I still have it and you all will be some of the first to know when it finally fits! Fit2010 - "soul cleansing" - that's exactly how it feels writing on this board. I'm so glad you are all here to read it

Thanks everyone! When I look at the old pics, I wonder why it took so long to figure it out and start my medi journey! I was so uncomfortable, sick, and tired...let alone ashamed and....what self esteem? My enthusiasm, self esteem and energy are just boiling over now! It's just AWESOME! |

Wow! Congrats Eptexy! You'll be so surprised how quickly that 31 left will come off! Keep up the great work!
Tomorrow is weigh in for me. I am REALLY hoping I lost at least 2.5 lbs this week, that would take me out of the 160's for good! We shall see! Last edited by kristenb; 03-09-2010 at 07:30 PM.. |

Thank you and good luck to all too! Week 2 is kind of confusing, really. I'm scared about what to eat and what not to eat. PLUS we are traveling this weekend. Very nervous.

Newbie
Hello everyone,
I hope you don't mind me joining the conversation...I have been lurking for a while (Medifast stalker!), and was trying to decide whether or not to do this program, since there is no Medifast clinic near where I live. But, as best as I was able to discern from the information, I thought this would be a good plan for me, so I decided to call it Medifast My Way. ![]() I started on Monday, and when I weighed this morning, I was already down 10 pounds! Wow! I'm very pleased with the results thus far. Of course, when you look at my stats, you'll see that I've got quite a lot to lose, so I expect to have a big drop at the beginning. Hopefully, when it slows down, I'll keep with it! I want to lose enough to get my body in shape to get pregnant later this year! Have a great day everyone! Kelley |

I have just a couple of questions now that I'm on week 2. I'm very nervous about all of this. Week 1 was almost easier for me because it's less calculating / tracking / decision making!
I was given so many options and recipes yesterday that I'm not sure exactly what my limits are now. My materials say that I should keep my 500 calories of protein and then add the 2 cups of veggies. Easy enough. But then they go on and give me snack options, salad dressings, fat requirements, and an almond tin stating it contains exactly 23 almonds (yet we can only have a max of 18 during the week split 3 ways?) lol It also suggests to eat your carbs early in the day but then their sample menus all have dinner options with sides of veggies. Oh! Also, it lists a "turkey roll up" as a snack that you can have 3 times a week but then there is also a lunch "turkey roll up" in the sample menu! Ok and journaling in that little bitty space is becoming kind of a problem for me. I think the lack of carbs and fat have made my brain MUSHY! ![]() Sorry, I really truly don't mean to be nit picky but I am so intent on succeeding and I guess I'm sort of a perfectionist. Do we know what our approximate carb intake should be per day? That's probably the most important question for me and I could probably go from there if nothing else is answered. ![]() _________________________ Erin 5'4 3/2 - 165 lbs 3/9 - 156 lbs Last edited by eptexy; 03-10-2010 at 10:22 AM.. |

I don't have all the answers to your questions and I'm sure everyone does things differently. But this what I've done and can share with you. Turkey roll UP: I've had as both a snack and lunch meal depending on what I've eaten throughout the day to balance my intake. Journal: I too had a problem trying to write everything down in the small booklet and I'm anal about it being neat. I started using a free online tool which also helps me with the calories, protein, carbs and sodium count plus water intake and exercise log. Of course I have access to a computer so I'm able to log my items any time. If you want to check it out it's: www.************.com Hope this helps and good luck! ~Karla

Hi Erin,
Re the fat: My clinic just told me to eat alittle fat like 2 tsp EVOO, a handful of almonds or regular salad dressing a few times a week. I usually take care of this b/c every couple of days I bake veggies w/ the EVOO to have over the next day or so. If I get a desparate craving for something sweet, I love the chocolate dusted almonds and will just have a few. I don't really stress over that to much. That's just me though. Re the carbs: My clinic says I can have 15-20 carbs/day, but the lower the better. This allows me to have 1 cup veggies, a fourth or half serving of fruit and the carb or so that is in string cheese & cottage cheese as well as 1 TBL SF coffeemate. I usually come in b/w 10-15 carbs a day, but I don't stress if it's a gram or so over. My clinic also suggested getting my carbs in earlier rather than later, that just gives your body time to burn the carbs during normal day activity & keeps your body in Ketosis easier. I just usually have my fruit in the am & my veggies during lunch w/ is my biggest meal of the day and my dinner is usually just protein. I have had veggies at dinner if I was out w/ someone or eating a special dinner at home, but it's rare so I don't really stress over that either. Hope this helps, good luck, SCgirl |

Oh thank you so much ladies - it helps tremendously! They did tell me to keep carbs between 0-20 a day in week 1. I guess I thought it might change in week 2. I know this will eventually become 2nd nature but right now I'm kind of in obsession mode trying to figure everything out. Right now I'm meal planning and trying to figure out how to feed my family and myself at the same time! Last night they ordered pizza and I hunkered down in the office to avoid the smell. lol THAT definitely needs to change! Oy!
Ok, and what about exercise? I do exercise daily but I'm not sure how to calculate calories burned. And would I add those calories back into my diet as protein or just ignore it? |

Another -2.4 gone! I was nervous today with my TOM and switching from the Medi Fat Burner to the Costco one, but so far, so good! I'm looking forward to hitting -20 next week!!
