Week 1 is a little difficult if you get bored easily but it is actually satifying in the hunger arena. I went to the store becasue w/o planning it is setting myself up.

have crystal light, Powerade zero and other refreshing drinks on hand-hot tea saved me one night!

1)I love cottage cheese so I bought the prepackaged ones with the calories on it-
2)I also bought the wild alaskan salmon in freezer section at walmart-pre portioned with calories (this I baked with either lemon juice, dill, garlic, etc) I even did it in the toaster oven at work!
3)Chicken tenders (white meat no skin) frozen-I took a bunch out -defrosted it 3/4 of the way in Microwave so I didn't get the edges cooked. I sprayed with Pam and put Taco seasoning and a bit of tabasco like product-then baked at 375 for about 25 minutes-I used Pyrex so I coud go from microwave to oven and dirty only 1 dish. Then I measured it into 2 oz portions for the week.
4) I bought RB deli meat top quality (hey I only get 2 oz at a time-better be good) I put Horseradish on this-you can have the FF miracle whip or mustard too so can experiment.
5) I ate out with family I get seafood and ask for it grilled with salt pepper and lemon juice -always turns out good-I look at my hand w/o fingers to tell me what 3 oz look like
6)on this site I found Turkey pepperoni (4 grams of fat) Microwave it for 1 minute or more to get them crispy-I get 12 for 80 cals and it feels like a cheat. I even tried the garlic Laughing cow cheese lite on it -felt like pizza
7) egg beaters-I hate egg white omlets so i had to have these and so low in calories for a filling meal-I always take my small fry pan -spray with pam and use 1/2 C=60 calories that with some canadian bacon 20 cal per slice is wonderful
8)Tuna with FF Miracle whip and chopped pickles and Celery salt
9) Hebrew NTL Low fat all beef franks 40 Cals

so i have american, mexican, italian -haven't done chinese yet -but give me time! I try to make most of my meals the non-processed meats though-like fish chken, salmon and the boars head lunch meat. I put all my food pre-portioned in the lunch bag and keep it there -when i open the fridge that was my food I grabbed that bag so I don't get distracted by my families food. It also makes it easier to take ot work-no packing in the morning always ready

Good Luck

Today is day 11 so it is fresh in my mind-I have been to the grocery like 4 times ( i walk there on my lunch hour for my excersise and read the recipe boards though. The boards help me fill up that time I could otherwise think about doritos LOL. TV doesn't help.

Hey E, I ate alot of boiled shrimp, baked fish, scallops...you can tell I like seafood Also grilled chicken, Turkey & chicken burgers (the pattie of course w/o the bun) I would have 1 Medi shake, usually the chocolate. Eggs, lots of eggs and eggbeaters w/ turkey bacon or sausage. Also, there is a thread for Newbies wh/ was very helpful. There you will meet people who are new as well and they will probably have some helpful suggestions of how they are coping and what is working for them. Good luck! Hope this helps, SCgirl....Welcome

Weighed in at the clinic this morning and I am down -3.4 for a total loss of 46.4 lbs. 9.5 inches off my waist alone. I had a pair of cute size 9 boyfriend pants that I've had for about 3 years and they still had the tags on them. I wore them yesterday, kinda cheated and wore spanx under them. Hopefully they will fit within two weeks without the spanx. I am just grateful for this site and everyone on it. No more avapro and metformin, I am med free.

bb0325 - Were you on the metformin for insulin resistance or for diagnosis of diabetes already? I was started on metformin 1 1/2 years ago for insulin resistance, I take 500 mg three times daily w/ meals. Any difference in weight loss since you've been off? Are you diligent about exercising now instead? Thanks in advance! Debbie

Good morning Fit2010 it was for IR through my primary physician. Went to endo and was diagnosed with PCOS last June. Been off met just for 11 days and I still had a loss this weigh in. My pp and endo are very happy with the loss, they work in corrolation with MWLC. My endo is the one that referred me to MWLC. I went from taking Atenlol(i hope that's correct) to Avapro to nothing now. I am very happy with the results I am getting with MWL.

Debbie,

I do exercise, I walk daily 2.5 miles(weather permitting) and I do Hula/Tahitian DVD workouts 2x's a week. And on Saturdays I practice Polynesian dancing for 2.5 hours. I have so much energy now.

2. I drink 33 oz of smart water and then atleast 66 oz of regular water from the same bottle and then whatever I have with my meals-I do not measure that water out-so over 100 a day-

3. I am a creature of habbit--so many of what I eat I know-every day for Breakfast I have half an apple with alittle peanut butter-so I know my calories-but I certainly journal if I am eating something new-I have an excel spread sheet that I keep cals-and carbs- my scale weight that morn and the weigh in scale weight for that week

4. I get both shots on Tuesday mornings and then the second b 12 shots on Fridays or sometimes Thursdays-I do not pay for the other one mid week

5. Yes I do get it once a week

6. I do not do too many veggies-besides onions and peppers-and half an apple a day-I stick to protein-sometimes about 3 days a week I add in cheese-be it queso (just a little for chicken fajita meat) or melt shredded cheese on my sausage or chicken--I chew about two pieces of trident gum a day-but no other candy. I love candy and I had to make that decision

I have not cheated at all-not one lick or bite-no cool whip or anything else to make me want something sweet-

I also have found eating a big meal after 3 or 4 does not work for me-try to keep my evening food under 125 cals at the maximum. I do my best to never go over the 500 cals--in any form or fashion.

I am preparing for next Tuesday-on Wed will my our 9 year anniversary so we are going out to a very nice restraunt-I know going into it-I may have to adjust my cals for that one night-mainly still protein-but still want to think about it with a level head.
Wow, you've had some great results, congrats!

I have two more questions for you if you don't mind. Could share one or two typical menu's for a day? Also, on average how many carbs do you eat a day? Thanks in advance

Week 3

I lost another 6.2 pounds this week! I just wanted to share. I didn't think I'd be able to follow all the rules so easily. I'm sticking with the basics and it's working! I realize I'm losing very quickly and it will have to slow down soon, but I am enjoying it while I can!! Have a great day everyone!

Sure!

BF--Half an apple with 1tea of Low fat peanut putter--I love the peter pan whipped less sugar

Lunch
4 Tyson boneless buffalo nuggets with mustard-or taco sauce or salsa

Dinner
Chicken fajita meet with the onions and the peppers

Menu 2

Apple with Peanut butter again

Lunch
4 or 6 chick filet nuggetts

Dinner
1 turkey burger patty with onions and a little bit of shredded cheese

If I am not wanting an apple I will do the turkey sausage-I like the ground and make my own patties

the only carbs I have are in the bread of the nuggets and then the peanut butter

If I do get the munchies or need more cals-I add in the turkey peperoni or beef jerkey

I feel like I'll never be able to eye (or hand) meat weight because of the variety. Deli meat is different from chicken, which is different from fish and steak... too many different types of meat!

bb0325- you have GOT to tell me about these videos for hula and tahitian!! I grew up in Hawaii (8 years-Dad was in military) and I know hula (okay, just the hooki lau!) How fun to do that exercise in your own home....and my basement is decorated in Hawaiian decor so I feel that I am "away"~and this is where I would exercise when at home!!! Please tell me about this! Do you belong to a group that you do Polynesian dancing with or is it a class? What got you started? HOW, how FUN!
