Debbie, I'm always amazed at your food intake - it just looks like so little! I don't know how you do it.

I started my day with some turkey sausage - three links for 110 calories. I think they may have been a little freezer burned, cause they were kinda dry and tough. The taste was really good, tho. I tossed the rest in the trash but will definitely buy some more of those.

I'm hoping for a completely week 1 day today. I want a good weigh in number tomorrow!

Lea,
I have to admit I sometimes don't get all in and the next day get more in....working on grad school stuff just makes me concentrate and I get so focused. Forgot to write yesterday that I also had a Route 44 Diet Sprite with strawberries so that upped the carbs. Yesterday also did 20 mins of recumbant bike and 10 mins of stepper.
This AM I'm 155 on my home scales! I did the cardio hula DVD today and love it! Good for the core, the thighs, even the arms (cuz you gotta keep your elbows up). I was surprised my HR was 120 though the movements were slow, the scenary was relaxing (where I'd grown up as a kid as a military brat on Oahu!), and that I'm on med to keep my heart from racing due to my mitral valve prolapse--so sometimes I don't get at a cardio heartrate. But I did and I feel so long and strong now! I'm considering doing it again before I go to bed at night to help me relax and sleep about hula movements...I wonder if subconscious core exercises work?!

Debbie, wahooooo! 155? How did that make you feel?? I'm so happy for you. I had to move my schedule around this week so don't go to the clinic until Friday. I'm REALLY hoping to be under that 40 pound mark so I can change my avitar. Keep up the good work!

We out to meet for lunch sometime this summer, Lea, since I just finished working with my nursing students til the end of August. Guess we can send a personal message and find out about setting up a meeting. I'll next go to the clinic the 24th at 9am; how about you? Do you work that AM?

I am TOTALLY recommitted now! I'm so excited to have lost fat and gained muscle at my weigh in. My exercise is truly paying off and while I know I shouldn't pay attention to the scale, it was getting me down this week!

I'm going to get this last 10 off in the next 3-4 weeks. MARK MY WORD.

I also got a new heartrate monitor and found out that I'm burning about 800 calories in my workouts. Not bad!! My clinic said I could add back in half of whatever I exercised. I don't want to mess my metabolism up so I'm definitely going to do that. I had been anyway - I've just been feeling kind of guilty about it. Plus I've been eating way too many almonds. Eee gads.

Today's accountability:
B: egg beater mug w/ sausage & laughing cow cheese
L: fajitas - figured it was about 5 oz but the waiter said it was 10 AFTER I had eaten it! eek!
S: crispy pepperoni and laughing cow cheese wedge
D: No clue. My kids are so sick of chicken though.. Maybe grilled salmon? Yummy!

Ok, dinner was my own miracle noodle concoction with grilled chicken, a bit of onion and garlic sauteed in broth, 1 wedge cow cheese, 1T parm, 1T light sour cream with seasonings. Then I had 1/2 a cup of brussels sprouts and a sugar free popsicle. I'm stuffed!

Erin,
For your egg mug concoctions, do you have precooked sausage? Do you crumble up the sausage into your egg or just stick everything in there and top with a laughing cow cheese? I only have the garlic LC. I should try this sometime...

I spray the mug with Pam, pour in the egg beaters, then chop up an already cooked turkey link. Microwave for 1 minute. Then I take a wedge and kind of chunk it into the egg and stir. Then cook for 30 seconds. You can add veggies or anything really to it!

I love the mug egg breakfast idea! I have had it these past two mornings and its certainly helped jazz up my egg white blah mornings. Thank you.

The Hungry Girl site has many variations too! I had a pizza one with turkey pepperoni and low sugar tomato sauce. Very good!

Have you tried the Medi shakes? You can really get creative with those! They have lots of good recipes at the clinic but so do these boards. Look in the drinks thread that is stickied at the top of this forum.

Is there a reason you have to have protein drinks for breakfast? There are so many other good alternatives! I can't do any kind of bar or drink for breakfast because I crave stuff later AND it doesn't seem to fill me up like a mug full of egg beaters, cheese, and meat! Plus I'd rather chew my food than drink it.

Good luck on your weigh-in Ortal!

I am not expecting a loss this week just hoping to maintain. I had gained a few pounds this past 2 weeks and think those will be gone by Friday morning's weigh-in. I look forward to jump starting again. Why can't I feel like I did 12 weeks ago with tons of motivation? Because then it was new and exciting especially when there were obvious results. Now it's become my way of life and the results are much slower in coming for me. I honestly thought I needed to get off another 20 pounds to get to 160 but I'm thinking that may not be where my body wants to be. I have always listened to my body and will keep my original goal weight of 165....14.5 pounds left to lose doesn't sound all that bad. I will have to start on Week 1 and be diligent with working the program. I was very excited about getting off the sugar, now it's time to get off the artificial stuff. There isn't a doubt in my mind that I can't finish what I started and then live it! Why does life have to get in the way sometimes?? LOL

Nibbles of almonds, pickle, jello, bites of cottage cheese and a couple bits of hot out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. One fell apart coming off the cookie sheet and I wanted to taste it. Normally, I wouldn't be baking cookies, but my daughter's birthday was yesterday and instead of a whole cake to tempt me, I talked her into cookies. Too bad she forgot about them until tonite.

I'm way over on calories. Dangit.

I added five more minutes to my spin session so 45 minutes there. Arms and abs today, and I did five perfect plank position push-ups!

I just have to say- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the breakfast egg mug recipe!!! It's exactly what I needed! A quick yummy healthy breakfast! So fast and so easy! Thanks so much for sharing that idea! Much easier than breaking out the frying pan! At 6 in the morning before work the microwave is definitely easier!

I missed my snack today because I was shopping. I'll probably eat some more protein later since I'm only at about 400 calories.

I bought three new pair of capris today. In a size 10. I've never worn a size 10 and just don't get it. I'm still much heavier than I've been previously in a size 12. I feel overjoyed and cautious at the same time. How can this be? I know my body is changing and I've got lots of muscle these days, but I just don't get it. Are sizes running bigger these days?

I honestly think sizes ARE bigger these days although I'd like to think they aren't. :/ I'm a size 6 right now and I just don't feel like I'm that small. People say I am... but I think they're just being nice. lol I remember weighing about 5 lbs less and wearing a size 8 about 15 years ago. They call it vanity sizing. Women will buy more clothing from a store where they can fit into a size smaller. It's super frustrating.

Hello all! Really cutting back today as this weekend threw me for a loop with a few challenges. Abstaining from spaghetti casserole and chocolate cake but going forward with wine made me feel very deprived / weak and thus I pretty much overate my way through Saturday late and Sunday. Was up 2 pounds this morning on the scale. Ugh.

Good thing is, I've had all protein today. My carb count will be under 10g this evening. I just need to get back into ketosis. I feel tired but so much lighter. I've been waffling between holding steady where I am and then going ahead and dropping these last 10 lbs and keeping my original goal. I'm exercising much more these days and it's messing with me a bit... giving me too much freedom. Not sure if that makes sense or not but I've decided to walk fast instead of run until I get to maintenance. Also going to stop the leg part of the circuit training.

Anyway, here's my accountability - boring I know. Reverting to week 1 is the pits!

Breakfast (160 cal)
Egg Beaters
Oscar Mayer Deli Shaved Smoked Ham
Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese
Almond Breeze Almond Milk - unsweetened vanilla

Lunch (175 cal)
Kraft Fat Free Mayo
Dill Pickle
StarKist Tuna In Pouch

Dinner (100)
Grilled Chicken Breasts

Evening Snack (100)
EAS Advantedge Carb Control

I also need to add in a Diet Dr. Pepper and a Celsius Drink. Have a good day everyone!!!

I agree that sizes are different than they used to be. I am 5' 6" and last time I reached 155, I could not wear my old size 10 jeans (with regular waist) but I could wear a size 8 with a below the waistline cut. But it is good for the ego.

Ignorance is bliss, right? lol But still, it messes with my head. When you're proud of being a 6, someone explains vanity sizing to you and it doesn't seem like quite an accomplishment. At the same time, that puts me at a size 16 before I found MWL and that is just not acceptable to me so I'm happy in that sense. I keep waffling on whether to start maintenance or not but I truly do not like the way my lower half looks so maybe another 10 lbs is in order so I can be a comfortable size 4. I hate being a "pear". To get my butt to look decent, I have to sacrifice my boobs. lol *groan*

Well, whether 12's or 10's or both, I'm still on my way down and I'm feeling better than I have in years. The goal isn't a specific size and really isn't a specific weight, but rather feeling that I'm at a healthy weight that I can maintain for the rest of my life. I'm not there yet. By the numbers on the scale, I can almost taste it, but according to my body, I've still got a long way to go!

B - egg
L - turkey, cheese stick
S - 1/2 Medi bar, yogurt, cottage cheese
D - chicken, salad, almonds, the other half of the medi bar, jello, a couple slices of turkey, a pickle an dmore cottage cheese.

Calorie total - 795

Workout 45 minute spin session and arms and abs

Hi Lea,

You always eat the same things. I just don't have the discipline to do that! Perhaps I'll try that for the next several days so I have a good weight loss total for May though. Your numbers loss have been great, so it's definitely working for you! Perhaps I'd stay in my calorie limit better too having it "prefigured." I just don't want to hate my eating...

Erin - I decided to motivate myself today and try on some "new" clothes since everybody's been talking about lower sizes, etc. But, I didn't want to really spend a lot of $ so I went to Goodwill and picked out a pair of nice Docker's ladies slacks 10 tall that I was going to have a my "goal" motivation pants....they fit perfectly! (Yes, they had 2% Spandex but the waist band seems 100% cotton. WOW! I know for sure what you're talking about "vanity sizes" cuz there is just no way that size 10 would have been possible at his same weight without exercising 8 years ago!! So, I also bought myself a pair of size 8 100% cotton jeans to be my "goal" pants - there's about a 3" gap to get the waist band buttoned...but at $2.99 I'm not out a lot of $.

I know what you mean about pear shaped too. Only my pear shape has a pouchy waist still. They measured it at 31 inches today at the clinic. It's been a long time since it was less than 32!

Debbie - two things: I went to Goodwill this weekend too! I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding in a couple of weeks and like you, didn't want to spend too much for something that I hope to wear only once because in another few weeks, it'll be too big.

AND, I'm not disciplined! I'm busy! Taking the figuring out of two meals a day has really made life so much easier. I almost always have an egg for breakfast and turkey and a cheese stick for lunch. My breakfast choices are an egg, egg beaters, yogurt, cottage cheese, turkey sausage, or canadian bacon. But I've found eating the one egg really satisfies me and lasts me till lunch. When I eat the yogurt, I LOVE it, but it leaves me hungry before lunch and sometimes that sets me up for a craving. I'm much better with a yogurt for a snack or even dinner (with some other things, of course).

We JUST got back from the grocery store and we've needed to go for a week, so maybe there'll be something new and exciting tomorrow!!
